because you can have negative experiences and not adopt a totalizing worldview about them. negative experiences are usually markers for growth. and i dunno, i feel like trauma has like a threshold, and being rejected or lead on or cheated on (maybe cheating, that's some trauma fasho) doesnt cut it, by definition maybe it's trauma but in practicality everyone goes through it. it's just not something you're supposed to change your worldview from.

weird philosophical sleight of hand. ok i guess. in my eyes it seems you're trying to redefine 'selfish' so broadly that it becomes meaningless. in this line of thinking, jumping on a grenade would be 'selfish' because you get to feel heroic for 0.2 seconds. what's the difference between someone who helps others and screws people over? if everything is equally 'selfish' then the word just loses meaning. and your conclusion is really weird. you're saying people who 'resist selfish desire' become …

that's great dude! good job, man. good you're not LDAR, that part of the community saddens me. you're still stuck in that framework though, using economic/transactional terms in regards to relationships, and the optimization/gaming language of the 'skillmaxx' and whatnot. that in itself can be unattractive, to me at least, i wouldn't date a girl of that nature--maybe ironically that'd be funny, and i don't think it's short sighted to assume that's the case the other way around. you do point out …

eh. most of what makes like meaningful isn't directly monetized, there are plenty of motivations other than market incentives that drive a human. and i dunno, seems kinda like a false choice to assume it's either capitalism or slavery, same as the false dichotomy in your second paragraph.

capitalism commodifies everyone dude, no shade. but instead of viewing this as an issue that affects everyone, you've strung up an elaborate narrative where men are being attacked and women the willing beneficiaries of it. and your 'solution' is just become exactly what you claim to hate (superficial, transactional), but be secretly enlightened about it. the part i find telling though is the: "NEVER complain about society to anyone ever", it tells me you know this worldview pushes people away. i…

can i argue that serial monogamy ties to the human difficulty of staying with one partner? or is that dumb? i feel serial monogamy still argues that it’s against our nature to stay loyal to another, that at the sight of dissatisfaction or grander, more personally appeasing ventures, the link between two brains can be dropped to be exchanged for another, more stimulating, link. maybe men feel like they have a better chance of getting away with keeping multiple women on the line, from perhaps a tr…

i don’t think humans in general are monogamous. we’re chained to sexual attraction, primate shit. so the commitment to monogamy i think is thus going against our nature, and which is why i think it holds so much value to two connected, conscious, brains, because it’s an active effort against our deepest most DARKEST desires 😵‍💫

this is good bait

i don’t think men are lying per se just expressing flexibility. “my monkey brain gets all sorts of chemicals when it has big boobs mhm, but i’m conscious so if i love you and you don’t have big boobs it’s fine.”

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
