I do this. I sit in my car as a prepare to come in and immediately start eating a dinner that was prepared with no thought or care as she doesn’t eat it because it’s not within her diet. I hate seeing “grass fed beef” go to waste on tacos that make Taco Bell look like gourmet food.

We went on some great trips before Im our son was born. Now we do the family vacation because of “memories”. Now it’s gotten way more expensive to the tune of more than a two week paycheck, therefore, setting back the budget. Now everybody wants to do their own thing at the beach. Our nieces just want to play on their phones. Mother and sister in law want to go shopping 45 mins away and have a “ladies lunch” with no kids. They will be gone all day.

It would have to be a truly exceptional situation. Watched a friend meet his “long lost best friend”. They were similar in age, similar situations, established in their careers, etc. They did their thing for 6 years and now been married for 5. They live their best lives.

I definitely suspect there’s more to this story. As for the knives, do you display them? Friend of mine collected autographed baseballs. His wife thought it was money wasted until he started displaying them. Now it’s something that looks good on the wall.
