Let me preface this by saying I usually think people need to lose weight. I am a lover of lean-ness. However, I think you probably do not. It is hard to say without pictures, but look: even 30 years ago (before we all got fat and accepted it as normal) the standard goal for women was 100 pounds for the first five feet, plus 5 lbs for each additional inch of height. You are 5'9", this puts your "thin weight" at 145. I think the problem may be with him.
