I was not a bad husband. I know I was good. I did the best I could.

During the separation she wished me a happy birthday. Then the following year when divorce became closer to official she didn’t tell me happy birthday. I still told her happy birthday because I won’t let such things bother me. She had later said she thinks we need time apart. But I never actually agreed to it even though it may be the best option. I’m just open to communication but just has no indication of wanting to communicate at all.

I discovered the word avoidant two months ago and it makes sense. I kind of became one myself but only because she is. I have no idea if she is struggling. I just don’t understand because we were good the majority of the marriage. I never actually brought up the friend stuff. She brought that up. No kids. It makes no sense. I have no idea why she wants to be an avoidant. Why she won’t talk to me. She has to miss me. Has to have some kind of lingering emotions. Nothing makes sense.

It took me a long time to realize the version of the wife I knew no longer exists and that hurts. But I know I need to move past that. I have been hitting the gym way more since this all started and look way better now.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
