Forget what some people think. So what if they don't agree with the philosophies and discussions we have here. Personally you ladies and this sub has changed my life and perspective. I was raised in a traditional Eastern European household and am a domestic violence survivor and this sub changed my thinking. I draw strength and self love from the content here. I have learned what I have done wrong in the past and I have become more proud of my own self and the choices I make. I feel more empower…

He doesn't care and will never apologize.

That's awful. It's kinda silly to be messaging women in a sub that has more empowered women than not.

Congrats on being more conscious about your social media usage and how it affects you! Life pro tip: delete the social media apps. No notifications and it's a pain to open your browser and login to social media. It's also way less user friendly which makes you wanna check it less. I sure do like Reddit though. It's a much different community and approach than other social media. Way less stress inducing!

I think the reason women are so under represented is really only because most caretakers are also boiler operators or have limited power engineering tickets. Not many woman go into facility maintenance. I don't find my union brothers to be too creepy usually... In comparison to some of the other industries dominated by men that I have worked in these guys are almost saints.

It's super frustrating being a woman in a man's world. I'm a school caretaker and women only represent 15% of our union. I am very strict with my boundaries and seeking involvement in my union so definitely keeping it professional amongst my colleagues. Thanks for the support and advice.

No hvm talks to people like that in general, This. To people in general. Treat others the way you want to be treated.

Recovering domestic abuse survivor here... I'm not surprised I'm so disgusted by name calling that I walk away from the person. Exactly what you described has happened in the past with ex's and I won't tolerate being treated like shit anymore. Must be a level-up for me.

He's a colleague. Not going to block and delete because we are strictly colleagues. I was thinking we could be friends because we do have a lot in common but I'm incredibly turned off by this person's jokes. I guess I'm just trying to understand a single man's behaviour. I'm going to be single forever and that's okay. /s

I called one abuser out on that. I asked him if he would ever want his girls treated like I was by him. That just made him more mad. How dare I bring up his kids.

Three different men in three different countries at three totally different times in my life. I can't even begin to describe the mental fuckery all this caused. If I've learned anything from those experiences is to trust my gut. If something doesn't feel right then it probably isn't. Leave at the first signs. He will never change. You are not the problem... He is.

I must give men some credit and say I hope not many men would've disrespected the word No. I think there's more good out there than bad. Thanks for sharing this happy feeling with me. I'm still riding the high of it.

Your understanding of cuddles and what happened in the moment are perhaps different and that your boundaries are more defined than mine are. You're not wrong though and I appreciate the feedback. Clearer definitions of my boundaries is a work in progress for me. In all fairness I told him I was not interested in touching him or making him get off but I did tell him if his frustrations were too overwhelming then he was welcome to give himself the relief. I didn't find it repulsive or offensive. I…
