Random to see my ethnicity mentioned here. You're right though, I'm kurdish and my parents, uncles, aunties, and grandparents all went through some crazy shit, and witnessed things like what you described. I hope you don't get the wrong impression though, they mostly grew up in a fucked up environment due to war and politics but most of my family are intelligent and have big hearts who are always looking out for others.

I don't know anything about you or your mother, but I think making your mother cry is an ugly thing. I've learnt to not argue with my mother even if she is clearly wrong. Letting go of shit like that is part of being a man. My mother may have fucked me up mentally but she still tried her absolute best and sacrificed a lot. I'm sure your mother has made some sacrifices for you too and that's something you need to respect. This goes for the other dudes in the thread too

I wish I got addicted to lifting and making gains. I did very briefly but it mostly feels like another chore for me. Maybe my routine wasn't very fun or something. Sure I might be lazy but as someone who just started working full time in a fairly intense field it's hard to make the effort to fit everything into my schedule.

I've only really dabbled with RSD tyler's content. The guy has some really deep and meaningful advice on his personal channel for those who have hit rock bottom or are extremely isolated/depressed. It resonated with me cause I thought it was rare to see advice from people who have actually been inn that situation and turned it around. You can tell he is talking from the heart. I do get that vibe from the other guys though.

You're right. My confidence and self esteem is pretty crushed. I don't know about the IQ, I actually have had an inferiority complex about that kinda stuff. I feel dumb af. My brain is very one-dimensional. I am pretty good with logic and things like math, but I really have zero creative or artistic drive. I would love to build something entrepreneurial in the future I just don't believe I could.

Well I don't know how I forced myself through 4 years of pain at university, but here I am. I used to go to gym but I realised I needed that time to sort out more important shit on my life. (not necessarily working out, but preparing a good diet is quite time consuming if you want real gains) Same with girls, if you struggle a lot, forget about that shit for now if you have other critical issues that need to be addressed.

I am actually different in that respect. I don't think I ever had a passion for engineering in the "classic" sense, i.e. wondering how things work, designing it and putting it together. The reasons I chose to pursue engineering (mind you I was 17 and still clueless): 1. pressure from family to achieve something 2. money 3. As I get older money just seems more and more overrated to me. I've never been one to obsess over material things, so having enough to survive would make me content. Doing something extraordinary and pushing yourself is great, but only if you have the passion for it imo.
