Let's be honest: sexual frustration and/or the bitter realities of dating lead to a lot of posturing. Some guys act like they don't care anymore where they actually do (MGTOW). Other guys act like they've figured out the game even when they're losing at it (TRP). That's not to say some guys haven't succeeded at being alpha or truly becoming indifferent, just that we should keep out bullshit detectors on just like any other time. Millennials make stupid fiscal decisions all the time but they (and older generations in decreasing order) have also been fucked by globalization and immigration. Wages have been stagnant for years, the job market is oversaturated while food, healthcare, tuition and housing costs do nothing but increase. They're getting fucked in multiple directions. But then again, most of them are rabid Obama/Hillary supporters so to some extent they fucked themselves.

This is one of the top posts on r/news right now and what's interesting is how the vast majority are supporting the guy as the real victim. I don't even think it's the money. If they got rid of sperm banks it'd be more or less impossible to get pregnant without a willing partner (even if he's just jerking into a cup in a private setting), and having a baby becomes very difficult if not impossible for a lot of single women who don't want to deal with men directly. I don't see that going over very well.

Yeah, any time you compare reality to idealized fantasy, reality always loses. If she stayed with this Steve guy, he eventually would have dumped her, or stayed and turned fat and beta and she'd be complaining about him instead of her current husband. The life she's imagining is an illusion either way, but she's still bitter about missing out on it. .
