My best friend died of leukemia at age 20. Every single wrinkle and grey hair I ever possess is a gift.

The "Send Booze" tag makes me want to throw something. Send booze?? SEND A DIVORCE ATTORNEY. I just can't deal with the passive self-martyrdom of that sub. The impotent rage followed by inaction, the doormat attitudes, the simpering and hand-wringing and woe-is-me self-pity, like their life is what it is and it can't be changed. FUCKING LEAVE, GIRL. LEAVE. LEAVE!!!!!!

Yeah I see a lot of posts shared here that are clearly ragebait. Like y'all we have enough real issues to discuss, no reason to waste emotional energy on some teenager's creative writing exercise.

That sub seems to be 80% troll/ragebait/creative writing posts, which is why I unsubbed.

Yup. And I'm sure many who have studied it felt similarly. Between the "everything is fine" morality blindness and the absolutely insufferable male classmates I had to tolerate throughout the program, going further with it as a career was out of the question.

Oh honey. Life kicks us all in the teeth, all we can do is get back up and kick the everloving fuck back. You're doing exactly that for your daughter and yourself, and for that you should be SO proud.

I'm a criminal justice paralegal for the government now. My entire job is literally helping put trash men in prison and the money is very decent, so... If legal support work is anything you're interested in there's often jobs available with the state or federal government (I strongly recommend government because the benefits and work/life balance are so much better than the private sector). A lot of people who take that route start out as legal assistants and work their way up to paralegal.

I majored in anthropology and FGM is one of the reasons I realized I could never pursue it as a serious career. The concept of cultural relativity is the height of male privilege -- it's real easy to remain a neutral observer when it's not your gender being oppressed in every goddamn culture and you're socialized to lack basic human empathy.

American Murder: The Family Next Door That documentary should be mandatory viewing for every single woman because it illustrates how overlooking red flags can cost you your life. You and your children could end up dead in a fucking oil container because the dull-eyed rat-faced struggle male you settled for decided your existence was in the way of him getting his dick wet. The deadly combination of a male's entitlement, violence, and childish impulsivity. The messaging of FDS is so (relatively) e…

I wonder how "nice" CPS will be if they find out an infant's sperm donor is repeatedly dropping her and the mother is doing nothing to stop the abuse.

This is what I wish more women would get. By allowing abuse and neglect to continue, you are complicit. The world is full of adults who feel contempt and disgust for mothers who refused to protect them.

I honestly agree. At some point you're no longer a victim, you're a volunteer. Her husband is a useless piece of shit but she is choosing to not shower for days on end and order her manchild toys instead of buying glasses she desperately needs. You can't be a doormat and then get mad when someone walks all over you.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy31/03/21 08:23 PM

A pattern I see again and again and again in these posts is a woman will become a SAHM at her husband's insistence so she can raise the children he so desperately wanted, then once she's fully trapped and dependent he turns it on her and accuses her of being a leech, a gold digger, lazy, not contributing, etc. It makes me want to tear my hair out seeing women walk into the same trap over and over.

If this is from the sub I suspect it is, the comments are all from other women in the same shit situation saying passive bullshit like "I'm so sorry bromo! Your hubby sounds like such a piece of work, grrrr! You got this mama!" And then getting knocked up with baby #3.

I read a comment from a woman who briefly dated a guy who kept walking in front of her on the sidewalk. One day she stopped trying to keep up and he ended up way ahead, so arrogant that he assumed she was still scurrying behind him. She took a street going another direction and blocked his number. 😅

I know the word "audacity" is used a lot here but jfc the audacity. First he demands you order something you don't want (i.e. lower yourself) because he's broke. He can't rise to the occasion. So you're like, it's cool, I can handle my own shit. But that's not okay either. So he begrudgingly pays and then punishes you for it. Punishes you for not lowering yourself to the level he finds acceptable. Tries to tear you down, tries to knock that crown off your head. Girl. Like I don't even agree with…

A ten-year age gap between two adults in their 40s and 50s is a completely different ballgame than a ten-year gap between people in their 20s and 30s though. Unlike the latter, the former doesn't present a huge imbalance of life experience.

I have a soft spot for Chris. He's a bit of a frat bro but he does seem genuinely sincere and kind. I've never read a bad thing about him in terms of how he treats other people and even his ex-girlfriends have said lovely things about him. He seems like a good dude.

I think it's largely because for so many men, being a "stay at home dad" means "keeping the kid alive while you smoke weed and play video games and wait for the bangmaid to come home and cook you dinner". Many of those friends and family are probably shit partners or married to shit partners, so they're projecting that onto your friend's boyfriend.

Yet another example of a man feeling like thinking of doing a good thing deserves the same credit as actually doing the thing. You wanted to call your coworkers out for being disrespectful pieces of shit? But you didn't actually do it? How wonderful. It's amusing how the few skincare/hygiene products out there made for men have to scream masculinity in their packaging. "DUDE WIPES" (Unscented!! The agenda and goal is to get this sub shut down. Male redditors have been 100% clear about that. Men wanting to destroy what they can't control, now who could ever imagine that. /s

It's never been about the actual content of this sub. Clearly that's irrelevant to them. What it is about is aggrieved male entitlement and a pathological desire for control. They can't control the female posters in this sub, drown us out with downvotes, or force their unwanted opinions into it, and that fucking enrages them. Men are accustomed to having their voice always be the loudest in the room -- often the only voice in the room. This one, single, solidarity sub in an ocean of male-centric…

If you had a tank filled with 100 sharks and told a man only ten of them will try to attack him, would he get in that tank? Because that's essentially what they're telling women to do with the "not all men" rhetoric. If the statistics for male-on-female violence were flipped, women would pretty much stop being born because men would insist female fetuses be aborted for the sake of public safety. And I'm completely serious about that.

When I got out of the military I bought a 2 bed/1 bath home with a big yard for my dog. Only my name is on that title and I made damn sure I can easily afford the mortgage and maintenance on only my salary. It's nothing fancy you'd see on HGTV but it's 100% mine, and that security lets me sleep well at night. Never build a life that is fully dependent on a man. That's like building a house on sand. The most insufferable, misogynistic males I've ever encountered (which is saying a lot because I work with attorneys) were in my undergrad anthropology program. Just this level of arrogance and ego masturbation that even a decade later still makes me shake my head in awe. This is why I struggle with supporting "medicinal" uses for recreational drugs. Do I think they can potentially help some people? Yes. Do I think many, many people are full-on drug addicts and hiding their addiction under the cover of legitimate medical treatment? Also yes.

My ex-husband became so addicted to weed he needed an inhaler, otherwise his coughing fits would literally render him unconscious. And that's one of the less extreme consequences of his addiction. People who claim weed isn't addictive are 100% full of shit. A substance doesn't have to create physical dependency to be addictive, the mental and emotional addiction to it is real and every bit as damaging.

I'm the same way. Women absolutely can and should dress however we want, and it's my personal preference to dress modestly for my own comfort. I don't enjoy the feeling of being looked at (or leered at) by random men. Not that it even matters sometimes, I've been catcalled while wearing a long-sleeve knee-length dress with tights on underneath. 🙄 Being a woman in public is all that's required to "deserve" harassment.

Men who fail to accomplish anything in life often fixate on reproduction as their way to have a "legacy." Such a happy coincidence that it requires zero effort, skill, or sacrifice on their part and their female partner has to do all the work.

According to Adoption.org: It’s even tougher for men who wish to adopt, as their motives are scrutinized closely. They may meet all the criteria and still be turned down as adoptive parents. That's...a pretty scathing indictment that adoption agencies may decide a child is better off not being adopted at all than adopted by a man.

What sincerely troubles me is how young the males are who froth at the mouth with hatred for this sub. FDS lives rent-free in a lot of heads. There are multiple posts on the teenagers sub alone (even multiple posts by the same redditors) trashing FDS. And it makes me sad. As a millenial woman I'm sandwiched between boomers and Gen Z, and while I had once hoped that cultural misogyny would decrease as trash boomer males finally died out, it's become glaringly apparent that today's young males may…
