No. I didn't find that stuff until I had cut him out completely. That's why I don't like to assume that he was into TRP for sure, but the behaviors and attitudes were eerily similar to the strategies they recommended.

In all honesty I went online searching for insight because my friends and family weren't very helpful with explaining a certain guy's behavior to me. Turned out it was possible that he was following RP or something along those lines.

Not just the women but the men and children too! In all seriousness whenever I mention virtually anything from this sub to family and friends of both sexes irl they're just confused or tell me to stop talking to weirdos on the internet.

Ime it entirely depends on whether they feel like they can count on their friends not to embarrass them in front of their SO. Before a friend of mine brought the guy she was seeing around us for the first time she warned us to act natural. Of course just because she said that some of our group went out of their way to be as obnoxious as possible when he showed up lol, particularly the guys.

No problem at all. I became more assertive with my wants, needs, and values. I used to accept vague answers like "we'll take it slow" or "we won't do anything you don't want to." All of those are wishy washy and signs he fully intends to persuade you to do what he wants. Anything short of explicit confirmation that he understands my stance on sex and that he is willing to wait that long doesn't cut it. In addition to that, I don't tolerate behavior that tests boundaries, like sending "thirst tra…

Ah, the "if women don't like assholes why do women like my shitty friends" question. Have you ever asked yourself why you like/d your shitty friends and work backwards from there? Maybe there isn't a gender wars issue so much as a backbone issue for everyone involved.

One more thing: Ladies, if you're gonna date Christian men (and I say this as a Christian woman) If I ever didn't feel like having sex with him He was pretty religious and also used the Bible BULLSHIT BULLSHIT red flag central Christian men who are oh so serious about the faith but make the one exception for pressuring women into premarital sex are always full of shit.

You might want to prepare to condense your personal account a bit so that it doesn't get flagged as a "diary post." First, focus on you. What are your hopes, dreams, wants, etc. that don't involve men? Who are you without him? What makes you you? Who are the most important people in your life? Who's been around the longest? Who has proven time and time again that they'll come through for you? Now onto the man. Is being in a relationship compatible with this established you? And no this isn't a b…

Okay. I'm going to go with the one who isn't a murderer because literally anything worse than a parking ticket is a serious dealbreaker for me. But I also think your impression of average is absolutely ridiculous.

So let me get this straight. This typical man is ugly and women consider him creepy for...existing.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/23 02:53 PM

I don't mean your average, I mean the average. Women will look at him and consider him a 2/7 on looks like how they do most men. He would likely be considered creepy at times. OP before I answer anything I'm gonna have to ask where on this planet you are getting this definition of "average" from

Question 1: In general, if you are hanging out with a guy alone in your, or his house, and he’s openly shown interest in you, are you waiting for him to make a move on you, and do you want to have sex? The flesh craves it but my spirit has prevailed. Hence I am a virgin. Question 2: if you’ve been on 3+ dates with a guy, and you haven’t had sex with him yet, is this usually because he hasn’t made a move? It's usually because we've had the "I'm waiting until marriage" talk by then. Better to ditc…

My partner is a virgin with zero relationship experience so none of this is an issue for me. In the event we break up the next girl might be pissed if she finds out the way he treated me though. I'm really curious to see how the question was written. If a survey I created had that much of a discrepancy my first guess would be that something is going wrong with how people are interpreting it. A similar thing happened with the race/ethnicity categories on surveys so researchers had to make adjustments.

It's definitely discussed but often faces a problem I like to call "self-interest pollution." Take me for example. I am a...gamer. u/KDOX_ I'll answer you here. That depends on what you mean by "masculine." I was never allowed to dress in an androgynous way even though I wanted to growing up. At some point I stopped fighting it and leaned into soft/feminine aesthetics. Personality-wise I guess you could say I have a mix of cute/sweet outward mannerisms combined with being more masculine internally. And of course, externally when the situation calls for it.

I could not care less what's going on in that man's head or why he prefers women my age or younger. I'm trying to figure out why on earth anyone automatically makes the leap from "criticism of behavior" to "trying to make behavior illegal." isn't that what he literally did tho? Starting a friendly conversation with a stranger =/= "pick up". Ngl I think having that space away from boys during my teenage years was beneficial in many ways, with some drawbacks too. I don't think I'd want to do that 24/7 for the rest of my life however. Men (the non-shitty ones) have brought a lot of good to my life. Plenty are kind, respectful, open-minded, safe to be around.

It starts out as a simple fact. "Okay this guy is attractive." With time and repeated interaction I'll generally start to feel butterflies and think about him a lot. I'm a big doodler when I'm bored in lectures so I often find that I start writing his name in the margins of my notes with hearts and stars. My face heats up and I can't stop smiling when he's around and it becomes harder to make eye contact. When I feel aroused it's like my skin is on fire, heart races, unsettled feeling in my lowe…

Pretty large I think. Being a homemaker for example is a very rare thing in my family. The boomers in my family staunchly believe that women should be self-sufficient and that basically trickled down to the following generations. No matter how well-off her husband is she needs to be educated and have strong career prospects. So being a SAHM was never something I wanted. My dad stayed at home for a few years after my mom was promoted to a comfortable six figure salary, and it seems like the time a…

Imo Homelander has way overstayed his welcome, but I fully acknowledge that the way he was written in season 3 contributed to my opinion. They are reporting the results of a study. Studies are intended to contribute to an overall body of literature, not to establish "fact" by itself. That is why researchers will use language such as "suggests" or "supports the conclusion", not "proves" when discussing the significance of their data. When discussing results relevant to human perspective/behavior it is absolutely valid to contribute relevant cultural experience that may provide context.

A power imbalance occurs in a situation where one party's position provides an advantage over the other in terms of getting their wants and needs met. This is not exclusive to romantic/sexual relationships. RP theories are vulnerable to individualistic propositions because they put the speaker into the position of being forced to defend absolutes such as AWALT. If one proposes that an event will always occur, with no exceptions, then the presentation of a single exception is not Motte and Bailey. The weakness lies in the maximalist argument that attracted the anecdotal counterargument.

I believe that it's a safe rule of thumb that the majority of straight women are turned on by traditional masculinity, though you have no way of knowing whether any given woman may be an anomaly or exception. I am attracted to traditionally feminine traits in men. I was raised with the belief that women should be driven, ambitious, and capable of supporting themselves financially, though most of the women in my family end up with men who match them in that sense. Looking back even the boys I pla…

The connotation of "loner" is often someone who actively avoids other people due to disliking people in general. You seem to be using it more neutrally in the sense of someone who gets along all right with people but prefers to keep to himself. That wouldn't bother me much in terms of friendships, but not having a close relationship with his family either is a potential incompatibility. I am very close with my family and find that I am most compatible with men who are like that too.

The original comment was not talking about literally any woman who happens to be a virgin, it is about women who are actively holding off on sex. The number of people on this sub who think it's perfectly normal for people with completely opposite values and attitudes to look at each other and go "yep, a relationship with you is a great idea" is genuinely baffling.

Are you suggesting that it has become so overused that it’s lost its meaning? Yes that is correct There is a very clear, undeniable difference between what women claim and how they actually behave. What if anything you expect as compensation for acts of kindness is definitely an element of an individual's personality and moral code. I have no idea to what extent your personality has anything to do with your ability to date. It could have zero relevance for all I know.

See this was never an issue for my BF because despite not getting romantic interest (that he knows of) until age 25 he was never told that being a good person has anything to do with being sexually attractive. Once we're dating seriously I do prefer to know whether a man has had sexual experience before me. Not an automatic dealbreaker, but I would have to take that into consideration in terms of vetting/compatibility. That said whether those encounters were with men, women, one-on-one, threesome, orgies, etc. doesn't matter to me and honestly it doesn't feel like my place to demand answers anyway. The most I'd feel comfortable requesting is that we both get tested for STD's.

I'm not looking for your respect or sympathy concerning my experiences. They do shape my reality, as experience does for all people. So that is why I talk about them. I always make clear from the start that I'm waiting until marriage. Yet there are still men who hope they can persuade me otherwise and score with the virgin. That is why I'm wary of guys who play the cuddle song and dance until they have absolutely earned my trust.

"Men are logical, women are irrational" More often than not the perception is derived from circular reasoning in which rationality is assumed by default to be the source of a man's behavior while the opposite is true for women. There is essentially a spectrum of expectations of your partner in terms of trust/transparency ranging from reasonable expectations to what is unreasonable. If people are saying "you shouldn't be dating" that's generally a good indication that you have crossed into unreasonable territory.

She herself admits it's irrational. This is a paradox. You are essentially saying she is "rational" only when she agrees with you. If you truly believe her to be irrational, flip it. Maybe there is truth to what she's saying and she's learned to see her own wants and feelings as stupid, hopefully for reasons that have nothing to do with you.

If you wanted the dictionary definition I'm guessing you would've just looked it up yourself. It's not exactly a secret to anyone. Or at least not to bluepillers. Therefore having a "guide" on it would be redundant.

Okay. My tradcon/religious brain says that's a bad thing. But looking at it from a purely secular perspective I don't see a problem.

You're tired of being the man that women will only talk about their feelings or hobbies with. At best. You want to exude masculine sexuality. You want women to not waste time with small talk and see you purely for your sexual value and little else. All of this just sounds like a weird, loaded way to say "I want to have casual sex." From a purely secular worldview standpoint there is nothing odd or objectionable about that.

How is the demographic of your fellow church-goers? Very few young people? Mostly just old ladies? What about race? There are actually a lot of young people, young families, etc. I find that Catholic churches in suburban areas tend to be more active in that regard. Churches in urban areas tend to skew older. My church is relatively diverse but still majority white. In case you are friends with other young catholics are they also into anime? Quite a few, in my experience! Most try to avoid ecchi …

I stand corrected. It seems like a common point of confusion throughout both comment sections so I'm not losing sleep over it. Edit: On reading the OP again I see why there's a lot of confusion. He uses two different meanings of "get" in the same post.

/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/23 04:55 PM

When done in the hopes of the fwb evolving into a romantic relationship that is definitely a case of not getting men

Oh I see now. So taking it beyond the roleplay and being like that like that lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/23 12:47 PM

My understanding is that being a "brat" is a type of BDSM roleplay kink. It's not really about impressing men in general so much as attracting men who are into that specifically.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/23 12:43 PM

Getting rejected romantically and then proceeding to offer a fwb relationship. It's great because it's a combination of not understanding men and not understanding what she wants either.

Plenty of dudes overtly express that their concern is not being able to compare to one or more of her previous partners. That is objectively an insecure notion. "I can't measure up to this other person" is textbook insecurity in pretty much every area of life. If a guy is worried that he'll never be as good at football as his older brother that's...what exactly? The embodiment of confidence and self-esteem? Yes, that is clearly how you feel. Your personal feelings are not the end-all of this subject. As long as no one is seeking to interfere with your life (e.g., changing age of consent) trying to dictate how they should or shouldn't feel about it could indeed be called a violation of boundaries.

I mean that all depends on their programming? Even virtual companions of various sorts show signs of wants, tastes, and preferences because they were designed to do so. They can act like they're mad at you, or move away if you don't touch them the right way. Why do we design them to do that? Because it makes them more "real" or "human" to us. A mindless companion that likes everything you do doesn't seem to be as popular a notion as it's made out to be here.

Not in college. I knew ones who managed to get into relationships but balancing studies/maintaining GPA with being an attentive partner was often difficult for them. The engineering program at my college was also notoriously difficult though so maybe that's not the case everywhere.

It was a smart move in my eyes because he struggles to chat with strangers, was taking baby steps to overcome it at the time, and we were at a bookstore. There are definitely cultural confounders that go along with "basic white girl name" types. Take me for example. I'm pretty dark but my mom's side of the family has fairer skin. Yeah sure, you successfully wifed up a tradcon local woman and her family was 100% welcoming and okay with that. Wait? That didn't happen? Then you're the one who's missing the point. The ideal for them is to marry within the culture and produce kids who look and act like them. What is this country where conservative locals are throwing their women at Western dudes? I'm genuinely curious.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/22 04:08 PM

In most cultures, trad women don't look for foreigners. Women who are open to marrying outside the local culture are usually more liberal/independent/open-minded. When those traits inevitably surface she will be called "Americanized" when in reality she was like that all along.

Only 1/3 of the US has a Bachelor’s and this includes non-traditional students who come back later in life or take 1-2 classes at a time while working. This 1/3 is not evenly distributed across the U.S. If you live in a high income area the number is likely well over 90%. In the U.S. religious and tradcon culture are heavily intertwined. It is very rare for one to exist without the other, particularly among women. That's the simple reality. For men who aren't cut out for religion best bet is dating in another country that has a more secularized tradcon culture.

A lot of abusers start by isolating their victim from friends and family precisely because they don't want this to happen unfortunately. When I was trying to get my best friend away from her abusive ex I called the DV hotline and was explicitly told not to tell her to leave for multiple reasons. Victims are often drawn to taking orders from other people. If they get out just because "someone told me to" that isn't addressing the root problem and there is a high chance they'll go back. In my opinion, yes. It's all a matter of your nature and temperament though. Being the dominant one in relationships comes naturally to me. I plan all dates, outings, and activities down to what we eat, where we'll go, and when. He drives me anywhere I want and asks to pay for everything, sometimes I'll let him and if I'm not in the mood I tell him I'm paying my own way. Being in control is relaxing for me. Leaving it in someone else's hands is irritating.

Depending on how you define "long" anywhere from 0 to 3. Approaching one year the guy I'm with currently has been my longest. I've dated pretty steadily throughout my life but the logistics of going to college out of state kinda made it difficult to sustain anything long-term. Now that I'm in grad school and have a better idea of where I want to settle down it's been so much easier.

If you've been on planet PPD long enough the "every woman I've ever fucked has liked rough kinky degrading sex" along with the accompanying barely suppressed contempt is a recurring thing. After a certain point you might want to ask how you keep ending up with women who can only get off when the man is dressed as Pennywise the clown and chasing her around with a knife. Because that sure as hell isn't all women. Maybe you have a type.

By what ethical framework? Utilitarianism? Deontology? Relativism? All I can speak for is the Cruel Angel Grad Thesis line of ethics, which says that "yes that is an extremely shitty thing to do and the kind of people who do it are repulsive." Though my perspective is heavily biased because as some of you may know a relative lost his life because of a woman who thought this way. So if you're looking for objectivity, you've come to the wrong place.

I don't make adult men do anything. They make their own choices based on what I tell them, which is that I am waiting until marriage. Most have been respectful and/or willing to wait, there was one exception that lied about being okay with it because he thought he could seduce me or something.

The disagreement isn't so much "being in control over our instincts" as not really knowing the full extent of our instincts begin with. Because it would take some extremely unethical research on human subjects to know for certain. A similar issue arises when we talk about violence in humans. A lot of people (including some dude called Hobbes) take for granted that we are violent and uncooperative by nature. Others take issue with that line of thought, with some proposing that humans have contrad…

I don't think that's it. A lot of the traits that make dating difficult for autistic men seem to be specific to those with sheltered middle class upbringings. My dad grew up in the hood and his possibly undiagnosed autism manifested in him coming off as emotionless, rude, and getting into a lot of fights as a child. When people who knew him back then tell stories they say the weirdest thing about him was that you couldn't really tell by his face or his actions that he was getting ready to fight …

One of the most underrated qualities of autistic men is their ability to perfectly recite dialogue from entire movies. Like with accurate voices and everything. I'm not saying that only autistic men can do it but there seems to be a weirdly high correlation.

/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/22 01:43 AM

Putting the morbid anecdote aside, my family structures retirement decisions so that young women don't have to make that choice. My siblings and I are very close with my grandparents because they actively participated in raising us for a lot of our early childhood. My parents definitely had their own sacrifices to make in terms of friends/social life but they knew that was part of the deal before they got married in their early 20's.

I'm claiming that "knowing what you're doing" is irrelevant to whether or not age gap relationships are "valid." Plenty of people get into shit not knowing what they're getting into, particularly at that age. But just like an infant has to learn by burning themselves on a hot stove sometimes part of growing into adulthood is making mistakes. In my opinion and based on my observations, dating significantly older people at that age is one of them.

The number of siblings? The traumas they've faced? Their personality? So many confounders. It's quite a puzzle.

Most age gap relationships are between adults and both parties know damn well what they're getting out of it. You only have to spend like 5 minutes around freshmen to know that the vast majority at that age have no idea what they want out of life or what they're getting into. Does that mean they can't or shouldn't date older people? Not necessarily. Is a good reason for it being justified "they know what they're getting into?" No. Have you never listened to an 18-year-old talk about their plans …

In my view, a reward has two parts: the intent of the giver as well as the recipient's perception of it as such. Let's say you send a person a literal pile of shit. Turns out that person is a shit enthusiast and takes your shipment as a reward for something nice they did for you. What then? Who gets to define the exchange that has happened here? Because if you ask the giver and receiver they sure as hell aren't going to agree on it. Flip it, shit enthusiast decides to reward your kindness toward…

One of the most important lessons the women in my family taught me when it comes to dating: "you're the one who has to go to bed with him." As in, the approval or interest of others is irrelevant if all it gets you is someone you're not attracted to and can't stand to look at, much less have sex with.

If a dude is committed enough to concealing his preference that he literally never speaks on it and his dating choices do not reflect it, Occam's razor would suggest that he doesn't actually have that preference. Not that he's secretly playing 2D chess to make sure that the women around him don't get mad or something.

You can't "make" a grown man do anything. The most you can say is "here's the deal, no sex right now, take it or leave it." It's up to him.

I think it's more related to what a particular woman is socialized to see as taboo or shameful. The fastest way to get people to fantasize about a thing is to tell them it's bad or off-limits. My sexual fantasies are more along the lines of being the dominant while the male submits. I grew up in a religion with almost exclusively male leadership and continue to accept the nature of its hierarchy. I also happen to think that the most attractive angle for men is when they're on their knees looking…

A 26-year-old guy expressed interest in me shortly after I turned 22. It isn't even that bad an age gap on paper but it still became quickly apparent that we weren't in the same place in terms of lifestyle and long term planning. He was genuinely a well-intentioned guy I think and he was respectful of my decision to end it and go back to my home state to be near my family after graduation. Dating a dude over 30 is like that but multiply the differences by magnitudes plus add in the red flag of a…

I've been suspecting it recently. I've been reading a lot on how ASD is underdiagnosed in women because many learn to mask the symptoms better. Men are more likely to apologize to slap a bandaid on the issue whether or not they actually understand what they did wrong or feel genuinely remorseful. One of the #1 ways you can tell a gay relationship was probably written for straight women is having some combination of a taller, masculine, dominant, muscular, stoic male while the other is more sensitive, feminine, and has "prettier" features. I've never encountered that type of hypocrisy irl honestly. Like I said, it was more of a regional variation. UMC/UC southern girls tended to expect traditional but we were also expected to be that way in return. Not knowing how to cook or bake for example was extremely taboo at my (all-girl) high school, and many girls baked sweets for their boyfriends for Valentine's Day or promposals. When I told girls I knew from college about that the reactions ranged from "that's so cute" to "wow that's pr…

Ah I think I see what you're asking. In terms of "right things" -girls are definitely comfortable around him, he always had a lot of female friends -he's always nice and polite to everyone without expecting anything in return -he never blamed anyone for his shortcomings in dating or took rejections personally He had a bit of a tendency toward being absorbed into friend groups through school, work, etc. and clinging to them for dear life while not meeting any new people on his own, if that makes …

I think at least some of the problem (at least here in the U.S.) stems from the diversity of regional/local cultures. My BF and I are both from the southern U.S. I find that masculine traits and traditional dating are heavily valued there. A lot of girls won't approach because we are told all our lives that's what slutty, desperate, or easy girls do. When I started going to school in an extremely liberal place I was genuinely surprised that girls were allowed if not expected to be so forward.

Eh no Historically, many cultures practiced abandonment of infants, often called "infant exposure." Children were left on hillsides, in the wilderness, near churches, and in other public places. If taken up by others, the children might join another family either as slaves or as free family members. Roman societies in particular chose slaves to raise their children rather than family members, who were often indifferent towards their children.Although being found by others would allow children wh…

As I was saying to someone else, do what works. If dinner dates are turning out awesome for someone and they're getting what they want out of it, why stop. If they are one of the many people complaining that it's boring and not getting you anywhere, what the hell do you have to lose by trying another first date option? Restaurants aren't going anywhere. Save the money until after you know this is a person who genuinely enjoys your company and is acting in good faith.

The problem here is obvious. Within the last few years otter plushies emerged as a surprising yet fascinating trend. Like so. "Just speaking with someone" is different from speaking with someone while trapped at a table eating. It is 100% possible to be a great conversationalist in some contexts but not others. Social abnormalities become a "problem" when they interfere with your day-to-day life and aspirations. If you can still get dates and satisfying relationships while randomly shrieking into the void every 10 minutes yeah you're weird as fuck but it's not a problem to solve.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/22 05:08 AM
2

Meals are more enjoyable once actual rapport and chemistry are established. I didn't agree to a dinner date with my now BF until we had already gone out together several times. By that point conversation flowed naturally.

Hot take: dinner dates select for boring people who can't find interesting things to do to get to know someone besides sitting down and putting a fork in their mouth. I'm surprised you left out prequel Anakin. He's a perfect example of a guy who doesn't fit the alpha/beta paradigm neatly. I am pretty sure George Lucas came out and said the Jedi are allowed to have sex as long as they don't become romantically attached. Meaning that they are free to have all the NSA sex they want like a stereotypical alpha paradise. It's just that they keep ending up with romantic/possessive feelings, which is arguably beta. A little bit of everything for different reasons. And yet "enjoy the decline" has been a motto for TRP for for lord knows how long and nobody is fighting to get rid of it. Why?
