If you are reading this post, chances are your dating life is not where you want it to be. Me: - starts reading post with the sole purpose of figuring out what kinds of BS OP is about to spew. - Realize it's a 2,000 word essay after reading 1st paragraph. - quit and go to comments. - confirm the post is mostly useless.

What's not moral about the way we feel attraction?

I do have quite a bit of experience, yes. Not sure what that has to do with the previous question.

Like you said, it is a filter. Back in my days of dating apps, I had a shirtless video (this was on Hinge) sandboarding. I have a very athletic body, so that video got tons of likes. One of my tricks/assumptions was that I made it the 5th pic/vid in my profile (out of 6) so by the time women scrolled down to it, they were already interested in me. Also, it was a video of me doing an activity where being shirtless is expected. I would never have the 1st pic/vid be a shirtless one, unless you're a…

Not sure how you got 60 likes. Attraction is definitely gender dependent. Men are way more visual than women. Tastes vary so some guys would go for a woman that other guys find ugly. But for the great majority of guys, no amount of game would make you find a truly ugly woman attractive.

Just keep doing it until you get it out of your system. Might take a while though. Source: I'm 40, have lived in NYC for the past 10 years, finally getting married (for the 1st time) in a couple months. Have friends who've gone thru similar situations.

Good for you to work up the courage to do that if you've never done it before. But given that you've never done it before, and you're 30, I wouldn't get my hopes up with this particular girl. I don't know you and I'm obviously making assumptions here, but the assumption is you were probably fairly awkward about it (since you've never done it before) and she's just being nice because she's in a service role and you're a semi-regular. Maybe I'm wrong and you'll ask her out and she'll be delighted …

It's not even remotely close to "most". Maybe if your whole social life revolves about clubbing or you live in Miami. But otherwise that's just not true.

This is a simplistic take. While there are certainly many girls that will take advantage of their looks to be purely materialistic, this isn't universal. Not even with models and girls in the fashion industry.

LOL what city? I live in NYC, I'm 5'10" and have never received a comment about my height. Are you Dutch? Or from Minneapolis?

100% agree with OP. I don't understand the changes in sentiment lately. Casual sex isn't as good as sex with someone you have great chemistry with, maybe even love, but it's still pretty damn fun.

If you know what you're doing the success rate can be much higher. I had a 50% 2nd date hit rate back when I was dating a lot (out of about 40 1st dates per year). Never counted the matches though so no idea how many matches it took to get a date. I know this comment might seem like a humble brag (and it partially is) but I would absolutely not recommend dating that much. Did it for about 2 years. Other parts of your life really take a hit.

I went out with a girl from Hinge a few years ago and could quickly tell the date wasn't headed anywhere but she seemed quite open to talk about the experience of dating in NYC, especially apps, so we talked about it for a while. This girl was very cute but nowhere near "smoking hot". She showed me how many likes and matches she received in the prior 24 hours. It was some ridiculous #, like 100 likes and 20-30 matches... IN ONE DAY and this girl was an 8/10 in looks & in her late 20s. Life as a …

It's not necessarily about validation. Sex with a new person can be very exciting.

As someone who's lived a lifestyle similar to OP, this is pretty spot on. A lot of time can be saved by doing shorter dates, like coffee or going out for a drink or 2 with a plausible excuse of meetings friends later (that's acceptable in NYC). Also, vetting online apps dates via Facetime before an in-person date. But yeah, it is extremely time consuming.

Why do you say this? Because he's tired of sex or because he's dated so many?
/r/seduction13/05/24 10:09 PM

Hold up... Don't over romanticize this type of situation either. I've also met a ton of women out on the street that never turned into anything. My point wasn't to make you believe we live in some fairy tale. It was just to not get OP discouraged

I should've said potentially dox. We both know a lot of people in the city (especially her) and many of them know the story of how we met. You never know who's hanging out in the same reddit sub as you, and I know there are a lot of New Yorkers on this one so I'd rather not take my chances.
/r/seduction12/05/24 12:54 PM

Again, I don't want to give the specific details here. Technically it was "cold approach", as in we were both out in the street and started talking. But I wasn't out to do cold approach. She just happened to be standing next to me and there was something relevant to talk about so we started talking about it. My brain naturally went into "absurdly hot woman" mode and started flirting, and I grabbed her #.

About two-thirds. The rest was a combo of cold approach + social circle introductions Apps are very different in NYC. Everyone is on them here (or was, 3 years ago, no idea now), so it's quite easy to find dates on them.

My dude, that was me 3 years ago, almost carbon copy.... Like it's eerie how similar my situation was to what you're describing: mid 30s, in NYC (downtown Manhattan west side), had just started a new job with a huge raise, moved to a nice apt, everyone was coming out of Covid lockdowns so women were eager to go out. I went on about 40 first dates that year and slept with about half of them on either the 1st or 2nd date. With about 10-12 of these girls I went on at least 5 dates, and I full-on da…

I try to escalate naturally. Naturally? Who cares about naturally... I can guarantee you are not escalating properly if they're already in bed cuddling but then leave without any sex happening. What might be "natural" to you is definitely not natural to most women. Google "2 steps forward 1 step back" and check out any material from Todd Valentine. I'm willing to bet money you're either going too fast or escalating linearly and constantly, or both. Neither works with women (or at least most wome…

Same. I'm a Hispanic guy in NYC - 5'10". Most women consider me handsome but not like model handsome. Not Ivy League, don't come from money but now make good money in tech. Dated lawyers, doctors, MBB consultants, and women who came from money. They're literally everywhere in this city. Now engaged to one.

I'm very far from being a male model. I get regular dates from apps. Just do some research on how to create a better profile.

Very misleading title... You only "picked her up" in the sense of driving a Lyft, not in the seduction sense.

I'm not saying I'm a small dude. I'm not, I can see myself on photos with friends, others, etc and I definitely look bigger than the average normal BMI person. But if you looked at what the typical guy thinks is most attractive to women, they'd think you'd need to be a super lean 185-190 lbs if you're 5'10". That's a full 15-20 lbs more muscle than I currently carry, and while I'm sure a guy with that physique would look great and would attract many women, it isn't necessary.
/r/seduction09/08/21 04:16 PM

It's a lot less muscle than you think. I get comments from women all the time about how sexy my body looks. I'm 5'10" at a fairly lean 170-173 lbs... Not exactly fitness mag cover model muscular.
/r/seduction09/08/21 11:45 AM

Of course looks matter. I don't care how good someone's game is, if they are obese, dress like a slob and have a terrible hairstyle, they're gonna have a much harder time attracting women. But anyone who thinks a man has to have a minimum 9/10 face to attract hot women doesn't understand female attraction and psychology. I've dated or slept with many hot women, and while I'm a relatively handsome guy, my face is far from being a 9-10. I also know a ton of fairly ordinary or even "ugly" guys who …

It's great for general social interactions but not for seduction. The most important parts of seduction are being confident, being comfortable with flirting, and sexual tension. This book will teach you nothing about flirting or sexual tension.

You have a misconception of game. The point isn't to change yourself in a fundamental way. Women are attracted to confident, well put together men. You can be a confident, well put together version of whatever you are (an athlete, gamer, businessman, musician, school teacher, etc..). I have friends who are as good with women as I am, but who have vastly different personalities and talk to women in a very different ways. If I tried to copy them verbatim, it wouldn't work for me, and viceversa. Th…

It definitely helps. Many women who see me shirtless make comments about it. It's also doubly helpful. 1) women are naturally attracted to athletic physiques, and 2) seeing them check me out or comment about it boosts my confidence, which is even more attractive to them.

Dude, the population of Montreal is 1.8MM. Even if you only limit yourself to approaching the top 4% most attractive women within a 10-yr age range, that's like 4,500 women. At the pace you did the last 3 days it would take you 6 months of doing this every single day before you can approach 4,500. The ones that blew you off won't even remember the interaction in 3 weeks, let alone 6 months. Don't get in your head!

"when I say out of my league, I'm referring strictly to looks." Again, you're not out of her league because of your looks. You're not in her league because you think you're not in her league. No woman thinks "he's only a 7/10 so I'm out of his league". You're mistakenly applying male logic to females. If you don't get that, I don't know how else to explain it. You can objectively be a 7/10 in the looks dept. You can look at your net worth and objectively be in the 'X' %ile compared to the rest o…

You don't understand women. It's not about looks. Don't get me wrong, good looks definitely help you get your foot in the door if you have them, but so can many other male traits and you can more than make up for a lack of good looks with those traits. The fact that you think you're only a 7/10 is your problem, not your looks.
/r/seduction13/07/21 01:13 PM

Agreed. Women act on emotion and then use logic to justify/rationalize the actions; e.g. she'll feel some attraction in the moment as you escalate so she goes along with it, later justifies it by thinking she already liked you. On the flip side, she might be attracted to you when she first saw you, and if you were boring she lost it and then rationalizes it thru "there was no spark". Some men do this too, but to a lesser degree. Most men, however, will have sex with any woman they find physicall…

This 100%. I've gotten very good at reading body language and I haven't had a "there's no spark, let's just be friends, there was no connection, etc" excuse in a very long time. That's not to say I don't get ghosted, I do. Almost all my 1st dates now have at least very heavy making out at some point, and about half to 2/3 get sexual in some way (at least some kind of foreplay or sex talk). Keep in mind this is a double edged sword. If sex happens, they always contact me again or are receptive wh…
