Well boys I gave it my all in the divorce subreddit today 😂Past traumas that are supposedly healed, but are not, since those experiences keep popping up in every discussion. Also, an inability to take the next step in the relation. Talking, talking and talking, until I realize I’m her therapist. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/05/26 05:03 PM
I Hate that She Put me Here: Dating in 2026 is HorrendousMaybe it’s still too soon for you to be on the apps? Just a thought and no criticism. Took me a good 18 months after divorce was finalized to feel I was really ready. Now I know my own worth and what I want. I’m convinced I’ll meet someone life-long. Have only had two dates and they were not it. One lasted three months and the other only two weeks. I tried, but ended those relations myself. Learning a lot about women and myself on the journey. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/05/26 11:38 AM
Well boys I gave it my all in the divorce subreddit today 😂Sounds like I’d better stay in this sub! It goes to show how far men and women have drifted apart. And it’s the exact reason my 32 year relationship (married for 16 years) ended two years ago. She was absolutely poisoned at her last, female dominated, workplace and nothing I did for her or the family counted anymore. Sad really. But, I have recovered and worked a lot on myself. I’m in a really good place today and love waking up every morning! Have dated a bit, but I’m aware of typical red-flags… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/05/26 11:09 AM
All I see for the future is darkness.I was broken after my wife and only love, 32 years together, said she wanted a divorce. I felt anxious and couldn’t see a life without her, the house, our kids… Fast forward 2.5 years. I’m happier than I’ve ever been. Worked on myself a lot, both mind and body. Got a new, smaller but still, house. Focusing on my kids and working to have sound finances. It will be okay. Just accept that now you feel completely f’d by life. You’ll find strength to do this. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/05/26 11:47 AM
Wife now Empowered, my basic contribution framed as controlShe didn’t have her own voice back then? Or too busy drinking and enjoying the views from the passenger seat? What these women come up with after divorce is staggering. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/05/26 12:06 PM
Why rush back into a relationship? What is wrong with living singleI dated for a couple of months. Wonderful woman. Still, it stressed me out. I broke it up and was able to breathe again. Definitely staying single. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/03/26 06:29 AM
Did divorce change how you see yourself as a man?I agree. Compromising and adapting is a natural part of a relationship, but when it goes too far and one starts to feel locked in, it’s time for a talk. If that doesn’t help, consider if it’s worth losing yourself for another person. And yeah, next time is easier. I just ended it with a woman I was dating. Not because of the above but because I listened to myself. Afterwards I was relieved. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/02/26 06:10 AM

Did divorce change how you see yourself as a man?She honed me into something I wasn’t. Love truly makes you blind. Piece by piece of me was replaced with her wants/needs/demands. Yet she kept on wanting more. Enough. Today, 2 years after filing for divorce, I’m living MY life. And man, I’m a much happier person now. I have time to do all the things in the household she complained about doing, and still have time to work out several times per week. I go out walking whenever I like (yes, that was sometimes met with a cold attitude), I travel, I … | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/02/26 06:53 PM

How to handle an aging b*** wifeIt’s interesting how many women suddenly start thinking they’re putting up with shit. Like WTF? Why would a woman put up with shit for 20 years of marriage? | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/01/26 06:28 PM
I Sense She is Regretting Big TimeCould part of the weight loss come from brain tissue? | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/11/25 10:20 PM
When She Says She Wants Out, Step Aside and Show Her the DoorYes! Last night I was having a couple of beers, listening to loud music on my big speakers. Nobody around nagging or looking pissed, lol! She didn’t like any of those three things, or seeing me enjoying myself. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/10/25 07:27 AM
New studies indicate why women hate men and it is very telling.I’m so happy divorced. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/09/25 09:18 AM
Curious question for men who are divorced and aren’t interested in a relationship how do you handle your sexual urges without a partner?Jerking off is a good way to find out if you really want a new woman in your life or if you’re just horny. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/09/25 06:09 AM
I think it's coming.Yeah, I’ve been divorced for a year now and had the same worries as you. Finally starting to feel ready for dating. I just took the time to really get to know my own needs and wants, plus I spent less time working and more time with my kids. I’m older than you so if I were you I wouldn’t worry. Once you’re over your ex you’ll be open to new adventures. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/09/25 07:32 PM
Coping is difficultTo me it sounds like you’re trying to act responsibly but she isn’t. Without financial stability everything else falls as well. Unfortunately women seem to take the money for granted, but it comes at a cost which can be tough on the relationship. With that said, her situation sounds really tough too. She must be extremely tired and emotionally drained. Not the best setting for two small kids… | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/09/25 03:34 PM
Anyone here who has been divorced for 3+ years, haven’t been in a serious or even casual relationship since, and still feel miserable?Amen to that! | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/03/25 08:09 PM

An unexpected benefit…She’s not lazy or a narcissist, but she is unable to organize and plan daily things. Then she gets frustrated and takes it out on me. I’m probably triggering her since she’s constantly running around in circles while I go straight for the goal. What she once used to love she started to resent and from there it went south. I started to feel less attracted to her and she felt rejected. We drifted apart. Hadn’t it been for the kids we’d have split up years earlier. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/12/24 08:51 PM
An unexpected benefit…Same here! My ex-wife was furious over all things spread out all over the house. As it turns out those were all her own things. She would always procrastinate and get all stressed up when it finally caught up on her. Now when she drops by, the house is clean and all things are where they belong. No loads of dirty laundry building up. Beds are made etc. On the other hand when I show up at her place she always makes excuses why it’s so messy… Interestingly enough, she was the one who said she want… | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/12/24 05:35 PM
Decided to divorce after 19 yearsIt sounds like you’re on the right track! Myself I’m based in Sweden so quite a different process. No attorneys. Mutual agreements made. Splitting our assets took two hours. We’re still friends and she’s working on her temper. But too late, she’s done enough damage to me for me to never want her under the same roof again. Just spending an hour together makes all the uncomfortable feelings return. On the flip side I now have lots of time to work on myself and make the decisions she would turn dow… | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/11/24 08:00 AM
Decided to divorce after 19 yearsDamn, it sounds like she should be behind bars. Who the hell kicks her husband in the nuts? The things women get away with. Yes, get her out of your life even if the price is high, and build a solid geographical distance to her when the process is over. I hope your nuts are still okay and you meet someone who deserves you so you can have a kid or two one day. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/11/24 08:45 PM
Decided to divorce after 19 yearsFor the last 4 years I didn’t know why I always felt stressed and worried when coming home from work. Then it hit me: I never knew when my wife would have her next outburst. Like living close to an active volcano I guess. She would build something up, get shorter in her tone and suddenly start shouting at me. I could never relax completely. Been separated for two months now and I feel great! Everything works fine and I‘m not sure all the stuff she was constantly nagging about was really necessar… | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/10/24 09:44 AM
No More Mr. Nice GuyIt was a mutual decision but mainly driven by me as she got progressively more insulting. After I told her she changed a lot, but too late. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/10/24 05:14 PM
No More Mr. Nice GuyI listened for 33 minutes and realized I’m not a Mr nice guy! I think I was, at some point in time, but that changed and as I started setting limits to my wife’s behavior towards me, it eventually ended in divorce. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/10/24 06:20 PM
Man, Tinder is a dumpster fire, loll’m using a local but well recognized dating app in my country. Only seem to attract older women that do not interest me what so ever. I think apps won’t do it for me. I will meet my next woman on the bus or in the gym, public places. Or perhaps at work, since I’m a consultant hopping around … | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/10/24 05:16 AM

Does Women / Wife ever get arrested for Domestic Violence?I’m really sorry on your and your son‘s behalf. There is a documentary on tv about a similar case that I think you should see. Basically the man got accused by his wife for doing the exact same things she did to him, when eventually confronted by the police. The violence and threats got really bad over time. She even self harmed and blamed him. If it weren’t for him filming several situations with a hidden camera I doubt justice would have been made. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/10/24 11:24 AM
Here to Help: Free Gym Advice for Divorcing MenThank you very much! I will try that. I have already switched over to using at heavy dumbbell for the reps, while still warming up with the barbell to work on form (didn’t know that is actually called Goblet squats). It feels like I’m really weak in my posterior chain, so perhaps that’s the reason I compensate with my lower back? Appreciate your advice! | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/10/24 07:07 AM
Here to Help: Free Gym Advice for Divorcing MenI suck at squats. Always leaning forward when going back up, and not able to increase weight much. I think I have short hamstrings and not very flexible ankles. Should I consult a PT? | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/10/24 05:44 PM
Just Ride It OutOnly having the kids every other week is tough though. My youngest daughter gave me a long hug yesterday as she was about to leave, saying she didn’t want to leave me. Today I got a text saying she wants to be with me. Ex wife moved out a month and a half ago, so all this is fairly new to me. At the same time (a bit selfishly) I need the time those empty weeks to focus on work and myself. I’m split. Meeting a new woman…, I don’t know, I don’t feel ready. Guess I need to be alone and work on myse… | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/10/24 09:48 AM
The First Night without at the Kids....I feel you man. Having my first week without the kids after the recent divorce. It’s horrible. Kids are texting me they are missing me so much. We are going to meet today, midweek, and will probably make that routine going forward. Is it a bad idea to invite the ex-wife as well? Just thinking about when I meet someone new and have to cut the ex out of the meetings. Perhaps better to just meet the kids alone? | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/09/24 06:52 AM
