I’ve been there and the problem is that you need to make clear what you want and go for it. By doing that you save yourself a lot of time because you will find out right away if the girl is into you or not.

For starters maybe throw out those ground-rules because they are utter nonsense. Women are people just like you and me so just talk to them with that in mind. Every woman is different. Some like to text long convos, other don’t. In my experience most do as long as they are interested in you. Main thing is being good at conversing and keeping things interesting. Also being articulate and skilled at conveying the right emotion with your words. I use emojis all the time because they are genuinely t…

I literally couldn’t agree more. How I got to the point of being virtually un-embarrassable was realizing exactly that: most people won’t even remember what happened and even if they do it is not nearly as big a deal to them as people imagine. Then, after my ego-death experience I realized that the only person’s opinion about me that really mattered was my own. I don’t meant that in a bratty way or as an excuse to he an asshole, it’s just a fact. It even applies to people who do not realize it. …

I guess we have a good bit in common because I could say the exact same about my brother. Life is tough and everyone has some issues but it’s always sad when you have to watch someone you really care for spiral down a hole they may not be able to climb back out of. I’ve had my own challenges and fortunately have managed to push through but I know how hard it is worrying about the health and well-being of the people around you. It really sucks that no matter how hard you try usually the only one …

Thank you! And that makes perfect sense. It’s only natural that different people will bring out different parts of you. I know I’m the same way and am pretty sure that most other people (minus sociopaths and people with similar disorders) are too. That is not the same thing as putting on an act or not being yourself. It’s just the version of yourself that comes out with different people. It’s one thing when everyone in a group is putting on an air to fit some status-quo, but even when people are…

Omg I do the same thing! Lol I’ll listen to the same song over and over, then read the lyrics and watch the video. I even remember things by which song was playing at the time and then get nostalgic later on.

See, just as she didn’t understand why I was intimidated by her it never occurred to me that she was intimidated by me as well. I mean, I knew I’d never hurt her (or any woman for that matter) but it’s easy to forget that she didn’t know that. I completely understand it now, but it’s something a lot of guys don’t think about. It is a bit funny how both sides are nervous for different reasons but for the most part feel like they are the only one anxious.

You seem really awesome and are right on the money with all of this. It’s rare to find someone willing to have in depth thought out convos like this! Whoever you wind up with is going to be a lucky guy since nothing beats a girl who you can actually have a great convo with:) All of what you said there is great. Being authentic is the most important thing someone can do not only for their relationships but for their own self-worth. Everyone really does feel pressured to live up to other’s image o…

Lmao that song hit me like no other. I had heard the song a few times but it never clicked until just a few weeks ago. I was just laying there listening to it and all of a sudden started getting this heavy feeling in my chest. Then when it dawned on me that the lyrics were perfectly describing what I was feeling I almost couldn’t finish the song😅

Oh, I never thought she was laughing to be harsh. She just found it genuinely funny that this jacked-up MMA fighter who in her mind seemed like a fearless bad-ass (her words lol) was somehow not scared of a huge dude charging with a knife but would get nervous talking to pretty girls. I found it as funny as she did because even I knew it was ridiculous. I mean, seriously, how could someone not hesitate to run into the middle of a brawl but then nearly faint trying to talk to a girl? It genuinely…

Amazing reply! Genuinely enjoyed reading it:) Most people don’t get that the whole “she/he is out of my league” attitude is a self-fulfilling prophecy. I see it on here all the time, someone complaining that no one will ever love them because they are ugly, short, have issues, etc. Even when someone points out to them that their real issue is their defeated attitude they usually deny it and double down that if only they had been born 6 inches taller or prettier that everything would be different…

No problem at all man. I used to always wish there was somewhere I go could to ask for help with these things (didn’t know about reddit back then) so I’m more than happy to assert myself as your new love coach lol But I know that feeling. As I said I used to literally freeze up sometimes because I’d be nervous and could not think of anything to say. I used to be amazed at how some of my friends could walk up and start talking to the hottest women at the party like it was nothing while I’d lose m…

I’m only 26 so not much older than you. I’ve been in your shoes my friend I promise you that. If there is one piece of advice you listen to from anyone today please let it be this... TALK TO HER! Stop thinking about it and worrying about what the outcome will be and just do it. Have a few drinks (not too many though) if you need to but don’t even leave yourself the mental option of not going through with it. You say you don’t know what to do but we both know that isn’t true. You know you want to…

You are absolutely right about women playing games also. In my experience they do it even more-so than dudes. And it really funny how some women who are by no means a prize themselves demand that a man be funny, smart, interesting, tall, etc. The whole reason they do that in the first place though is because it works for them. Think of how many times you have seen a guy wrapped around a girl’s finger who was just stringing them along to use them compared to vice-versa. It’s far more common that …

It’s ridiculous how nervous dudes can be when it comes to talking to an attractive woman. I’m hard to unnerve. I’ve done MMA since I could walk, have always been a thrill seeker and somehow manage to not lose my cool in serious situations like a car accident or a dude coming at me with a knife. My friends have always been baffled that I could somehow charge into a fight with an armed dude a foot taller than me without flinching but when a pretty girl would come up to me I’d legit freeze like a d…

I had to learn the hard way that not showing interest or making a move is a game ender lol. A lot of guys may do that as part of some sort of game but that wasn’t it in my case. I was just too nervous and in my own head. I think a lot of guys have the same issue that I used to and allow their own nerves to convince them that it’s never a good time to make a move and then wind up seeming uninterested and get upset when the girl winds up with a dude who swooped in made a move. At least in my case …

Great post. But I’d like to add a bit that I think needs to be emphasized to a lot of guys. There is nothing wrong at all with being a nice guy. In fact it’s a good thing that almost anyone would appreciate. However, being a “nice guy” is not something special or worth bragging about and will certainly not get you laid on it’s own. The problem is guys who act as if treating a woman with basic kindness and decency should earn them an award. It is not that girls don’t like nice guys. It’s that nea…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
