Gotcha. Yeah, therapy can teach you how to communicate in different ways. Like, sharing the same type of information without disparaging yourself... Or learning to feel differently about yourself, period. Breaking old patterns and learning why you developed them and why you are so hard on yourself and feel bad about your emotions.

In education, it's called being a "warm demander." It sounds like you respond well to her approach. I do hope you give therapy another go. Go into it honest and don't be afraid to be vulnerable.

The analogy you use here about racism is great. What it takes for white folks to change is, indeed, that they examine their biases. It's difficult work for many, especially depending on a lot of factors like upbringing, etc. And they don't get it right the first time or even most of the time. It's a lifelong process. Every man isn't into big tits, either. Every man doesn't love sports. Every man doesn't want to be in charge or dominant in a relationship, etc. (Also "tits" are not something people norm…

Your rant is not pointless. It sounds like you are being quite honest with yourself here. Trying to get to the core of what you are feeling (and why) is a good thing and a great first step toward getting to a healthy place. I agree with the folks here talking about therapy. If that seems like too much right now, look into what Brené Brown has to say about shame and vulnerability. A good place to start is with a TED talk she did called "Listening to Shame." So much of red pill is about exploiting…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
