I'm a SAHM and I had a ton of backlash from my family and friends when I first announced that I planned to eventually do that, even though I was in college at the time. I actually did marry my first boyfriend but I'm also able to acknowledge that I got very very lucky and that many people don't end up with their first loves. It's ok to plan for your life with him, if he is on the same page as you, but I agree with the people commenting telling you to have a plan to care for yourself. Even if you…

To be honest, if he loved you he would have left his wife for you. If he even liked or respected you as a person he would never dream of putting you in such a degrading position. And being a mistress is incredibly degrading. In the same sense, if he had any respect for his wife or his children, he would have divorced her before pursuing someone else. This guy is showing you a lot about his character. He's certainly untrustworthy, he has no respect for the commitment of marriage, he's showing you…

Absolutely! Not even just if you're single, but, before bigger responsibilities creep in, you should be ready for what life can throw at you. I graduated after I had married my husband, but before the house and baby came along. Everyone thinks that having a plan B is referring to divorce, but so many other things can happen.

I agree with a lot of your points here. I am a SAHM to 1 child, we live comfortably off of 1 income and I don't bring in any extra money at the moment. I also don't can foods, or sew (beyond clothing maintenance). However, I also have a degree in child psychology and am prepared to work if I have too; I'll also be furthering my education and returning to the work force once our kids are older. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to rely on your husband to provide financially, but there sh…

I had my first at 22 and unfortunately did experience a lot of negativity about marrying and having children young. But I didn't really care about it, I'm happy, and everyone who thought I was "throwing my youth away" or whatever they thought really changed their tune when my daughter was born. I do think it's weird that people fought so hard to change the "timeline" of settling down and starting a family just to create a new timeline to judge and define people by. It's not like having children …

E-learning sounds like the last thing anyone should be worrying about with these kids; their mother needs help that can only be provided by professionals with the resources and knowledge to help her.

Oh I can imagine I have no idea how I would react! Our response is usually to give people the benefit of the doubt so that makes total sense! Just to maybe give you peace of mind haha! If you sit around and imagine the different things that could have happened to you like I do, it might make you feel a little more in control of the situation if you imagine fleeing or running him over lol, whatever your cup of tea is.

I have first hand experience that this is not true lol. Nothing is absolute, it's not about where he is in life it's about who he is as a person.

Oh god that would be really scary, I'm glad you're ok! I don't cc but my husband is talking about it for himself. The logistics of staying calm and loading or just pulling out and aiming a gun sounds like something I really wouldn't be able to do in a dangerous situation, so I wouldn't get one personally. As the poster above said, take a class and see if it makes you feel safer or more anxious to carry one around. I don't know if this will make you feel better about the incident but you weren't …

Anyone who thinks like that is much lower value than someone not making "enough" money or not being "alpha". If there are woman in relationships thinking like that, they need to set their partners free and do some serious self reflection. Edit-in relationships you're supposed to build each other up. The women in these quotes are just sitting around waiting for their partners to magically turn into these "better men", or bringing down their self esteem so much they don't feel like they can become…

I'm talking about the actual orgasm, not like turning them on and the activity of sex as a whole. He makes himself have an orgasm, because he's the one thrusting into me, I make myself have an orgasm, with the help of him and my own external stimulation. Maybe that's not how everyone does it but we're having a good time lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/20 08:59 PM

I sort of feel like during sex, besides whatever we can do to help each other along, we're sort of just making ourselves orgasm. So no I wouldn't stop sleeping with someone that couldn't "make" me. I'd like them to try to make it an enjoyable experience for me, and set the pace that I like, but I will bring myself to an orgasm. But I need external and internal stimulation to orgasm so maybe that's why?

Wanting to spend time with him is sweet and perfectly ok for pursuing someone you like, now you sort of have to see if he wants to spend all that time with you. Doesn't he really want to talk to you or does he just want to talk to someone and he knows you'll always do it. See what happens when you pull back for a bit! If he questions you about it and you don't want to straight up tell him, my approach would be a sort of banter response like "dude I talk to you like 24/7 how am I supposed to find…

It really depends on what you guys define as friendship things and gf things, but in general you should consider what would be ok to do if he or you were to get into a relationship (his gf would definitely have a problem with video chatting you until 6am), so things like that. If your friend doesn't like him that makes things much less sticky if you want to pursue him, but it sounds like he's treating both of you the same way, even if his communication is a bit more with you than it is with her.…

Word of advice, it would be better if both you and your girl friend pursued a totally different person than this guy. If you both like him, you destroy your friendship with each other. What if he doesn't like either of you? Now you may have destroyed all the friendships. If this guy liked you, or her, and actually wanted to pursue a relationship with one of you, he would. He chats with you till 6am sometimes because you're available and willing to do that with him. It may not necessarily be you …

I guess if I did happen to see him say that somewhere, I'd just ask him about it. I'd want to know what exactly he means when he says he didn't or still doesn't find me physically attractive. His answer would determine how I'd feel. Something like "you weren't what I was looking for/what I usually go for but you're so funny/smart/whatever that I just love being with you, and I find you very beautiful because of your personality". I would be less hurt than if he said "I don't think you're pretty …

I think everyone wants a partner who's sexually and mentally attracted to them. Although I don't think I would have an issue with the second scenario I gave, I certainly still wouldn't want to know that this is the case. Telling your partner you don't find them physically attractive is pretty cruel. If the person I was with was able to act like a normal partner (kiss, touch, sex, act like they desired me, etc) I wouldn't have a problem with it because I'd never know, and if I heard it from someo…

You know after reading the question again my answer changes a bit; are we talking about someone who still finds their partner unattractive but is with them for their personality/lifestyle/money whatever, or someone who wasn't initially attracted to their partner, but through spending time with and getting to know them, they grew to find them attractive? These are two completely different scenarios imo. The first one sounds like a lazy or desperate person latching onto who can take care of them, …

I agree with you, I think the issue is if they openly admitted that they didn't find me attractive, but that my personality made up for it, it would be too hurtful to continue a relationship with them. It's not that they have to find all of me attractive or be ready to pounce 24/7 or not look at or admire other attractive females; it's not anything like that. It's that it would be extremely hurtful to hear that the person you love, are attracted to, desire, can't find 1 physical thing they find …

I wouldn't date someone who didn't find me physically attractive, and I wouldn't do that to someone else, sounds very much like they'd just be using me for whatever they perceive a better life to be for them. If they only like your personality but aren't attracted to you, you're not dating, you're friends.

If you don't tell him you're taking away his option to have boundaries. If cheating is a deal breaker for him then he deserves to know so he can decide whether he wants to stay or not. If cheating isn't a deal breaker you should still tell him, and then possibly get counseling either together or separate. He absolutely deserves to know.

The only thing I ever looked for besides being initially attracted to them, was someone who was patient, calm, and gentle. I need someone who can communicate with me instead of argue with me and throw hurtful words around and things like that. Didn't care about financial stability, having a house or car or anything like that, but we were also only 18 and 23 when we started dating so maybe that's why? Ah yeah, neither of you are wrong here, it sounds like you two just think differently about the relationship dynamic. My husband and I started off 50/50 but it eventually transitioned into him paying more than me because he made more, and in return the majority of the housework and meals were my responsibility, and now I'm a SAHM so he's paying 100% of everything, so I mean you never know how things will change. I guess it depends on why you have more male friends? I had friends in high school who would say things like "you're the only girl I can hang out with, guys are just way cooler/chiller/easier to get along with/whatever" and it kind of turned me off of the friendships, because it was like they wouldn't even give other girls a chance, and it ended up being an issue when I had my other girl friends around them. I've never had a friend say this around me but I think responding confused/shocked would make them think about what they said? Idk I'd probably say something like "wait..what? No they're not dude, my husband isn't trash. Is your dad/brother/friend trash?" And go from there. It does bother me to see it so casually thrown around online though; my dad is such an amazing person and fought so hard to get custody of us and protect us from our trash mother. I don't have any book suggestions but I can relate to some of your childhood and aggression now. What honestly helped me the most was therapy. Not necessarily to dig into your past or anything like that (unless you want to) but to find coping strategies and attempt to change your mindset around people in general. I definitely try to spoil my husband but I don't think I've tried to get him into bed with rose petals and all that haha. I don't think that stuff is really his style. He works all day so when work is over I try to have dinner ready and waiting, and take into account what he wants to eat so I guess I'm always cooking for him (us, I like the food I make too lol). How many different colors/types of flowers do you see everywhere? What about different times of day? (Sunset, sunrise, night sky) they're all still beautiful, just different. Just because someone is beautiful doesn't mean that you're not, it just means that you two look different. On top of that, beauty really doesn't matter lol. I try not to talk about my views with the few friends of mine who don't agree with them, however if they want to start a conversation about it I don't mind if it's civil. What this girl said back to you would get a "yikes. Bye then!" from me lol. No point in trying to explain my, in my opinion, very reasonable beliefs with people who have already decided I'm wrong. I'm pretty sad that it's taken till 24 to be diagnosed. Although I really like my life, I feel like I could have been more successful in taking care of and improving myself when I was younger. I really wish mental health issues were investigated the same way that physical health issues are. I had just decided that "this is what I'm like, oh well, sucks". Yeah that part is so stressful, I understand. I'm not sure if this helps but the sellers are most likely nice people who are trying to find a place as quickly as they can so you guys can move in. A lot of the time unfortunately sales end up overlapping though because they could end up with a house where their sellers don't have a new one yet, and so on. I really like this post! But I feel like the How to Listen to Men part works for both genders? Yeah I understand, putting yourself out there can be really scary. Try to remember that he's not the people who have fooled you before, he's a new person. If these are the early stages of getting to know each other and he'd like to take it slow it's a great time for you two to build a solid friendship and develop the sort of trust that partners have for each other.

Of course! Being in a loving, healthy relationship is much better than having someone who's "just the right height" or anything else superficial like that. Your friends saying things like that about your partner is body-shaming and totally disrespectful. I think it would benefit you more to brush societal standards away and just live your happy life with your (still taller than you but not like that matters anyways) boyfriend. If people make "joking" comments about your or your partner's body around you, "please don't comment on our bodies" is a perfectly reasonable response. Well because I didn't say you were wrong at any point. Obviously not everyone in the entire world has their father's last name. Usually though, at least where I'm from, and where the OP is from apparently, somewhere in their lineage there is a last name being passed down by a father. That's all I was saying.

Right. That's why it's best to ignore people who tell us we should "explore our options" or "get life experience" before getting married. They mean dick experience. Ironically most people who've said that to me are in their 20s or old and bitter, I wonder why.
