Lol the patriarchy. You have no idea what feminism aims for and no idea what you’re talking about. Troll somewhere else.

Sounds spot on. I’ll add: Friendly Woman - “She’s so sweet” Friendly Man - depending on other persons gender it’s something along the lines of “Creep” or “Fag”

I think that’s a good argument. Although I still think that social conditioning has large role to play. Women’s sexuality, in nearly all of its forms, is broadly accepted and even encouraged. Maybe even encouraged where it’s not wanted. However, compared to male sexuality, deviating from the norm ever so slightly can damage your reputation, career, family, friendships, etc, there’s simply more at stake for men when it comes to being sexually fluid. So by comparison, without any examination, sure…

So if men get offended it’s on men, but if women get offended it’s on men too?

I’m not 100% sure about the the legal definitions of what constitutes assault, but my understanding is that any unwanted non-consensual physical contact can viewed as assault, regardless of gender. But yes, I’ve witnessed and experienced the double standards you’re talking about. It’s sexism, plain and simple. Our culture is going through a major shift and it’s not looking good, hold on tight.

I would like to see a role reversal for this and see how women react. But male humiliation will always be comedy gold for them. I can’t see how empathy or compassion are sometimes associated as feminine traits when they have neither.

While I’m familiar with your argument, I’ve yet to see hard numbers that back up your assertions. More importantly I don’t think you’re interested in anyone’s point of view, at least not here. Conversing through text has its limitations, so I may be wrong here, but it appears that you didn’t come here for perspective, truth, or insight. It seems that you came here to argue and to be right. I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree for now.

Fair enough. I agree that bad things happening does not equal oppression. But when those things keep happening over and over, and everyone turns around and acts like it’s not happening or worse say you deserve it, that is oppression. I do know that men work more dangerous jobs and are killed more often on the job, more men commit suicide, die in war, are subjected to police brutality, imprisoned, given harsher penalties and fines, subjected to genital mutilation in 1st world countries, lose cust…

I think the jobs thing was out of necessity, not because men wanted to. If you don’t mind my asking, are you a white straight man? I’m not black, trans, or female, so I don’t feel that it’s my place to judge their human experience or to tell them that what they’re experiencing isn’t real. I sometimes disagree with people who aren’t like me, but I think it’s healthy to exchange ideas and try to relate to each other as best we can. I just don’t know if telling people that they’re not oppressed, wh…

I always kinda felt all people had it bad from the beginning, why do you think men In particular have had it better? Are we talking all men? You mentioned that you can’t think of one way shape or form that men are oppressed, but there are thousands just on reddit that dedicated forums to talk about these oppressions and to look for support. Do you think we’re wrong or misguided? What are your thoughts?

For too many people (and those of the fairer sex are most guilty of) events such as birthdays, weddings, bridal showers, baby showers and their invitations served have become a bill in disguise.

That’s fucking crazy! I feel like replying, And under every girl next door veneer is a gold digging Karen waiting for her opportunity.

How many thousands or hundreds of thousands of years did humans survive without circumcision? If hygiene was your goal, then cut the whole thing off. Jeez, the mental gymnastics some women perform just to be ‘right’ is fucking astounding.

I would say most films that push a feminist agenda are blatantly sexist towards men. So much so, that it’s practically the foundation of the plot. That, or it’s the main female characters motivation through the movie. I actually like some, like Thelma and Louise or Legally Blonde, but in both the plot centers around the main character’s opposition and negative relationships with ALL men — and simultaneously men are also used as disposable objects of sex. I also think movies and shows that make c…

I’m sorry to hear about your experience. I shaved my head when I got really into Buddhism and received some uncomfortable glares and comments.I also see that picking on white men openly especially in front of an audience is trendy, but it will pass in time. Bigotry and all around human shittiness doesn’t belong to one group, anyone can be racist. Those men don’t represent the movement, they’re bullies. I hope you have more positive experiences going forward.

It’s all subjective. I will say that the dating pool for gay men is considerably smaller, so much so that a lot of gay men just stay single or end up getting back together with an ex, or their ex’s ex somewhere down the road. Also, we get lumped into the Straight White Male category whenever it’s convenient for women and get abused just the same and at the same time we’re not accepted by the straight male crowd either. Another downside is that most movies, TV, advertisements, aren’t made for us …
