Not the other guy, and I'm not even sure why I'm engaging, but simple... Because it's not servitude nor slavery? You either don't understand those words, or, more likely, are so detached from that reality, you're trying to oversell the slight inconvenience of taking an extra step, as locking you against your will, and forcing you to do hard labour the rest of your life... There was a study, people walking towards you will instinctive make room for you, if you look where you are intending to walk…

If I get run over by a brunette does that justify my ilogical hating on all brunettes? No it doesn't. It doesn't matter if she was run over by a man, or 3 kids on a trenchcoat with a fake mustache. It does not justify the hate.

Old school feminism was about equality for women, in a time women had less rights than men. It has been around for centuries, I recall 14th century letters talking about such issues. The first big battle was about women rights. In the 60s there was a new wave of feminism, that rose against social norms. Women are not necessarily house wives. They diserve equal pay, etc. By the 70s theory crafting bogged down the movement, trying to pin point the why (patriarchy, power dynamics, sexual violence, …

Now ask them when their B-cup GF isn't next to them. Joke aside, this is also cultural. Hungary and Poland prefer B cup, everywhere else on Europe and USA, C Cup, according to a way too small survey (2000 people total).

I used the racist example, because despite laws that are apparently similar to black and white people, they are enforced across the board differently, because they are mostly enforced by mostly white people (and even the black people that do get in those positions of power act similar to fit in, a bad apple rottens the bunch after all). In America, judges are racist and tend to be less lineant towards black men. Cops are so racist half the country was rioting not that long ago. There is a sittin…

Of course, I'm a man, and I gave the example. Again, it was just a simple illustrative example. Violence against women in particular is quite different from violence against men. Even domestic violence, while both genders can be victims, the way to handle it is quite different. For example, male victims of domestic violence not only fear the partner, but they potentially fear repercussions of female being seen more often as the victim, or even fear mockery for being beaten up by the fairer gende…

I agree, but different perspectives are always welcome, and said different perspectives might create safer solutions for women, because undeniably, some of the hardships of women, can't be figured out by men alone. A good example is the pink product tax, and it should be regulated (same products, same brands, costing more because they are marketed at women, usually in a pink package). Men not being the costumers of said products, nor traditionally the ones doing the house chores would have a har…

I think she meant since men have been running things for a while, women should run things for a while, and then when both are normalized and society is fixed by women's better running of it, and not poisoned by the patriarchy, any gender could run it. Or, to make it short, when men behave more like women, they can let men back in power.

"My friends reassured me that I did nothing wrong" - of course they did. Crabs-in-bucket mentality. Hot take, the only thing wrong she did was complaining about it afterwards. She is free to bang a Leonidas 300, he is free to seek more conservative sexual partners.

Extremists always screech the loudest I'm afraid. I was in for the lols of just deserts, but now I just cringe at the circlejerk of "no lady won't touch my weewee, so ahah random lady got punched in nose!" But this is common to any less savoury sub I'm afraid.

Well, they didn't stop him after the first punch, so I don't think they are white knighting. That punch was vicious, and would knock out even some men. And it was also enough to show they have no business fighting though. The people intervening tried to stop them as soon as they realized the girl still didn't understand her pussypass forcefield was down.

To be fair, they only stepped up when they noticed it was about to turn into a blood bath. That haymaker got no reaction from the other people despite the girl jumping back like 4 steps, which would seem a "equal lefts" reaction. Only when the girl was too dumb to realize she was walking into a Teneense face surgery, stepping up again, and ate 3 or 4 more punches with her head against the wall, did they try to stop the fight. It could very well be 2 guys brawling, and there's a point when people…

I remember a video of a drunk asshole that pizza slapped another guy, turned his back and sit down. Then he kept hurling homophobic insults at him. Got punched so hard, his teeth are probably still lodged in that table. 2 minutes later, wakes up, face with blood or pizza sauce, playing the victim. So yeah some aggressive male assholes also start shit and turn their back. Those are my favorite.

Then the rastafarian gives her a bath, and she wasn't nice enough to say thank you. As someone who has lost an arm, I can 100% tell you the reaction of the people that saw me lose my arm (and had to carry it, and put it on ice), and of the people that hear me tell about it later is very different. I agree that you shouldn't laugh at it, I said as much in my post. But if you don't instinctively find it funny when someone walking trips, then there must be something wrong with you, because again, it's human nature. So is farting, and yet, there is a time and a place, and it certainly isn't when someone is exposing his grievances. But my point was the unexpected IS funny, which is why dark humour even exists. Dark humour is exactly the things you'd morally think are apreensible and yet people…

What makes something instinctively funny is the unexpected. The juxtaposition between normalcy and the deviant. It's the reason why seeing someone trip or fall is funny, and most people will have to suppress their laughter, despite the fact we are all well aware the person might be injured. It is instinctive, our brain goes "silly human, can't even walk properly, left, right, left, right, nose!". Laughing is also a contagious social behaviour. If you hear someone laughing, you are more likely to…

I mean do you intrinsically like icecream or have you been conditioned by tv to like icecream? A little bit of A, a little bit of B, but the end result is just, you like icecream. It's besides the point anyway because, some female rape victims "confess" to even having orgasms, and it's still rape. It's all about consent, not pleasure. His words make it sound consent was either given after the fact, or they had a relationship where that was somewhat normal.

Anecdotal evidence, when I started growing my hair I went to my mom's hairdresser. Never got called anything. I'm sure there are asshole hairdressers, like there are asshole barbers (like exemplified above), regardless of the gender of the client.

If there we're no visible signs saying "men's only" then I can only assume the barber was being a dick for refusing to do a haircut he is used to just based on gender. It's all about logic honestly. I've met a few people (learning) who just couldn't create an algorithm. They'd need a blueprint to copy (like a similar exercise), and never understood how to think of a solution themselves. Nothing wrong with copying mind you, but you have to understand what you are copying, otherwise it'll create terrible problems.

Fair point about manslaughter vs murder; But the distinction is forethought not intent. That's legaleze. Forethought and intent are synonyms, and there are plenty of examples where intent is used to define murder, (I'll quote wikipedia quoting Texan penal code): 'However, the 1970s revision of the Texas Penal Code states that a murder must be committed "intentionally or knowingly" in Texas.' Why is the crux of this argument body searches anyway? You zoned in on that. I also gave examples of kids…

Who cares about thoughts? You measure people by their actions not their intentions. Actually, intent makes a big difference in law. You could argue that we have very deep foundations on intent. For example, intent is the difference between manslaughter and murder. At the end of the day it’s a matter of what you value higher. If someone needs to perform a cavity search it should be a medical professional. Why? It's not a medical procedure. Medics are still sexual beings anyway, and I know quite a few women who have a gender preference for their gyno. I'm assuming that since there are 9 male cops for each female cop, and 7 males arrested for every 3 females arrested, female cops would be disproportionately burdened with female duties. It's mostly HR work though. Don't put the scrawny little lady, and out of shape old guy, effecting arrests. You have to manage your officers and assign them where they can do the most difference. Cops aren't just arrests and violent encounters. They can be punished for not meeting standards. This isn't about the…

I'm assuming they are paid by the hour, not by the workload. How much is worth trading punches with a perp? How much is worth having to stick your fingers up a homeless crack addict orifices? It's hard to assign value to these tasks. Besides what about out of shape male officers? They can't run after anyone, they barely can lift their butt out of the car, let alone sprint. Better pay for better shape would be welcome, but I doubt unions would allow it though.

If some people refuse to work with a male officer is that something we should tolerate? You don't see anything wrong with a male cop frisking your mother/sister/wife? What about cavity searching? Is it really true men can’t be respectful & sympathetic to victims, or is that just more sexism? Rape victims for example can recoil at other males (even their own husband). It's traumatic. It's not asking too much to try and accommodate them and make them comfortable, since they went through a traumati…

Actually it's "lower requirements to be a firefighter = more death". Of course since the lower requirements we are discussing are gender biased (aka only apply to women), then, yes, that'd mean "more female firefighters = more firefighters accepted with lower requirements = more death". By the transitive property of mathematics, "more female firefighters = more death". If you are a woman, try to drag a man through the floor to test your strength. If you are a man, ask a woman to drag you. Now ta…

I don't know any female soldiers, but I do know some male soldiers that were tested with women. The women's tests are lower (less pushups, less kms, etc), but the few that were there, made a point of doing the male tests. It's anecdotal of course, but I hope this translates to a majority of the mindset.

Why? They need people in good physical shape. Having a high requirement is good. Problem is, they need women for the above mentioned examples - so they just lower the bar for women until they have enough women to fulfil those roles that can't be fulfilled by men. If they lowered the bar across both genders, like you suggest, that would just result in a even greater percentage of the police force having inadequate strength for the more physical tasks. This way we get the best of both worlds. Stre…

I wouldn't classify Jurassic World, as successful. It has like a 40% critic and audience score in Rotten Tomatoes. But my point was just, the pull of the super star is dying. Hollywood still try to capitalize on it, but it's way less effective. I think the only caveat is animation voice over. That usually target kids, but the approach here is different. The animation and story is for the kids, big names is like a consolation prize for the parents that are held for ransom for those 2 hours, they …

Chris Pratt saves the planet from aliens, dinosaurs osama bin laden and legos all in the same year bro. Yeah, but it's all off the fresh back of GoG. Vin diesel says I am groot but they don’t go get a cheap voice actor that would have done just fine, they go with the fast and the furious guy, same goes for the raccoon. But in Guardians of the Galaxy Groot and Rocket are sidekicks. The main character is Peter Quill, and Chris Pratt he was literally playing a goofball in Parks and Rec before that. Aladdin's genie had some big shoes to fill. The original Aladdin's Genie was the original "celebrity" used voice as a draw to the movie. It went sour, Robin Williams was pissed Disney walked over his wishes not to be marketed, but the Genie was a worldwide success and Disney banked on him. Cartoons started all including celebrity comedians to fill in the funny side-kick slot. So, when it came time to the remake, they needed some very big name comedian/actor, because they knew he'd be directly co…

cause i look around and remakes reboots and superhero is pretty dominant. Super Heroes need a pretty long commitment. Big actors don't want to sign off 10 years, and many times demand a lot of changes to the script like primadonnas. That doesn't work well when you are structuring many movies at once. Yeah our natural strengths that used to give us higher survival chances, essentially became the highest reason we died early. If you were young and healthy, you'd be drafted to war, and had a higher chance of dying. If you were weak, sick, old, etc. you'd be sent home. The balance of power swung both ways, men simply achieved more in regards to building civilizations when the power was in their favor. The balance of power was more weighted towards men, because, physically men tend to be stronger, more agile, and have better hand eye coordination. Since our civilization evolved from some really barbaric beginnings, it's natural the "strongest ruled". Even if the rules place a woman in the top, it still is a system mainly worked by males. It is very much biology. This is well studied and documented. I recall some staggering gender differences in strength that can't be changed with gym. Something like 95% of men have more strength than the average woman. That means that while there are genetic outliers, a great majority of men (many who don't engage in physical activities, are sick, weak or old) are stronger than the average woman (and by extent more than half the women). Genres and sub genres are seldom official anyway. It's not Capcom that calls SF a fighting game, it's the community that eventually finds some sort of consensus. Fighting games in the 80s and 90s were also sometimes called beat 'em ups. Nowadays a beat 'em up is a double dragon-like game. When you move to lesser known genres, you eventually have some less consensual names. It's like music really. What one calls Neue Deutsche Harte another might call Industrial. VF was different enough back when they were released, it was not considered a standard fighting game by me and my friends. The 3d movement and lack of special moves made all the difference when discussing semantics. SFII had redefined the genre, you soon had other heavy weights to fight for the crown. MK, Fatal Fury and KoF were and still are household games in the genre. Anything that didn't follow the formula didn't feel like a "fighteR" not in the traditional sense. Rivals and Brawlhalla are …

Guitar Hero, yes, it's mostly memorisation and performance. But Soul Cal and MK, both require fast reaction for defense and counters. I mean, sure you could argue it's not that important, but it's probably important enough when it gets to the competitive stage to push out anyone that's not a fully abled young male out of any prominent position. Almost every major competitive game has a major focus on twitch/fast reactions, from shooters, fighters, MOBAs and even strategy games like StarCraft. My point being, you can't draw a conclusion of a group by the actions of a select few. This applies to gender, race, and about any group of people you can think of. Some women fight it in court. Some don't. Some men think alimony is fair, some don't. I don't think it's fair (independent of gender) so it would be hypocritical of me to say "alimony sounds fair now that women have to pay it". It's mean and inappropriate, no doubt. I'm just explaining the why people laughed. Situations that subdue expectations create laughter. Another example would be, a man dressed as a lady. It'd be mean to laugh at a cross dresser, and yet, the sight will cause laughter in many people, because it is unexpected. They are not laughing necessarily to ridicule the person or to be mean, they are laughing because they genuinely find it funny. And crossdressers have been used as a form of comedy for a lon…

I think the laugh reaction is more simple than that. There is a comedy genre called surreal humor, and it basically works on unpredictability and subversion of expectations. How does an elephant fit in a fridge kind of stories, that go against all logic. Which is why, people find men who are overpowered by women funny - it very much goes against expectation. not like they cant go get laid immediately any time they want Well, believe me or not, there is more to finding someone you like than just sex.
