My ex wanted me to give up becoming a surgeon for her so we could spend more time together. I'm a doctor now and start Orthopaedic Surgery residency in a couple weeks. Awalt

As a medical professional all this bro science is causing me physical pain every time I read it.

Hey guys, sorry to burst bubbles but this is not a healthy diet. Eating a variety of foods including a lot of veg/fruits and running at a calorie deficit in the long run will be superior. There are other consequences to a diet like this that make it not the best option over the long term. Source: will be an MD in 2 weeks.

I spent about two years embracing that niche and it generated extremely solid results. I have a lot of personal factors that just by chance happen to align to make me "unicorn boyfriend" material. The key is being aware of that and not allowing yourself to be trapped.

My dad is wealthy/successful/works a lot and my mother doesn't work. The way their household is kept in order to avoid spending problems is from day 1 my mother was not allowed to have a check book because she did retarded shit with money before they were married. Her credit card has a relatively low limit (good for things like car repairs, buying groceries, gas, non-outrageous clothes, etc). They have never had any kinds of problems in their marriage from money. Also, he refused to ever get a h…

Lol. So I'm auditioning for residencies at large trauma centers in big cities. We take care of tons of homeless people every time we are on call. I'd say maybe half of them are HIV or Hepatitis C positive. Or both. Which is also common. What an idiot.

I want to get married because I plan on moving somewhere relatively rural and the pickings be slim out there. Way slim. Also, I want children with two parents. The fact that I'll have my family be heavily involved in the church will help (social pressure). Also, I'll have an extremely desirable career and am the only heir to a very wealthy family. This combination of things should at least keep everything in my favor. Still up to me to walk the alpha walk but the ground work is there. I think al…

I would tend to agree with you except for 2 things. In med school we learned a lot about drugs and what they do. If she managed to OD on coke as a doctor, she was stupid. She's also stupid for leaving 3 children and a husband at home to do coke. Double stupid. Now she was found with her panties in her purse and was more than likely banging these guys. She's a whore. So by all deductive reasoning she was a stupid, stupid whore and died as such.

My LTR: I don't want to go on Morgan's girl trip to New Orleans. Me: why not? (Curiosity) LTR: because I know what happens at those girl weekends.

When my gf dumped me my second year of med school it was raining girls. It was stupid. I actually was losing out on time to do my hobbies because I was spending so much time "hanging out" with girls. Have a LTR now. Actually like it because I can use my minimal free time for my hobbies. She actually encourages and we have some of the same hobbies. Much more convenient.

I'm a senior medical student. This exact scenario happened to me my second year. The short sightedness blows my mind. Marrying an MD that's a specialist is a sure fire way to at least a comfortable life and never having to work again. Now that I almost have the MD and most women are too ignorant to understand our training process and that I still have residency to contend with, they are starting to swarm like flies to a dead calf. It gives some entertainment though I suppose. I'm doing a surgica…

Just because you're alpha doesn't mean you can't care about someone's well being as a fellow human.

Same here. Gym time is me time. It's where I want to listen to my death metal and lift heavy things while smelling bad. I don't want to hang around or chit chat while trying to finish my exercise and get back to the rest of my day.

Church helps. And get a hobby where you create with your hands. Like woodworking or learning an instrument.

Everyone makes their own choices in life man. You can do your best but don't make him hate you over your intervention. Just make sure you're there for him when it all comes crashing down.

I felt sick reading this. I love that I have a strong support base from my family with my best interest in mind. If my judgement ever got clouded like this doormat of a man'a did my family would hound me every day saying what an idiot I am or that this girl isn't allowed at family events.

So hits home. In my last year of medical school and am applying for residency in one of the more intense surgical specialties. It is impossible for any of the girls I've dated to comprehend all the things I've done and I've given up so far for this (missed weddings, talking call with the residents, working 36 hours straight). I'm at a point where if anyone that works a 9-5 starts to complain I get visibly upset. I'm getting better at getting that shit under control but I cannot fathom having to …

Seriously. College was overrated. Spent most my time studying to get into medical school.

I finally decided I truly need to dedicate time in my schedule to hitting the gym and it's not hard to figure our. I had maybe a 10 minute conversation with one of my trainer buddies that is the real deal and competes in fitness competitions. Then I went to the gym. Started seeing tons of results in two weeks. I don't know why everyone perseverates about every aspect of it. If you go lift heavy shit in a safe way for an hour 3-4 times a week and throw in some cardio interval training you'll see …

In my last year of med school but not quite. You're spot on with you're assessment. Most are obese and are just a hint of white trash where I go to school. The one's that arent are usually married and I live in a pretty conservative state so that actually means something (at least for a few years until they get bored).

Not if the vast majority of judges in the region only have their judgeship (judgery? Judge-job?) thanks to personal efforts of a particular family member of mine. Edit- also we have a pack of lawyers on retainer so I wouldn't ever rack up fees. And they're scary lawyers. Like they scare me.

I actually had that conversation with both my mother and father a couple of weeks ago. They both would naturally like me to marry but at the same time are aware of what is happening with divorce this generation. My mother (who is like the ideal wife and mother) straight up said to me "girls don't respect men that provide for them anymore". She wanted to make sure I had some kind of pre nup someday. I'm the sole heir to a large company so there is a trust that my father has put in place. I don't …

Holy crap. I honestly thank my lucky stars and fully appreciate the fact if I were ever in this situation my family can use it's vast legal, financial, and political resources to crush someone doing this to me. I cannot fathom how difficult this is for the guy without access to resources like that.

That's what I was wondering. This seems like it only applies if you're a "paycheck to paycheck" type of person.
