No man is held to possess any intrinsic value - we're all just the sum of our assets." From what I recall, it wasn't so much that people were almost dead at 30/40. It was that so many people died young that the average life expectancy was much much lower. 14	If Women Are Given Combat Roles in the Military, Then Selective Service Should Be Compulsory for Them People seem to forget that drafted women could serve in non-combat roles in a time of need freeing up more men for combat positions.
