Finance?

Mmm, that's an interesting trait for medical field. I've met many the are very TypeA, maybe they really in it for the money, or are pushing towards more cosmetic fields in medicine. So I guess those douchy guys would match perfectly with those vapid women lol. Or they are just immature, cuz, if my primary care doctor was douchy, I wouldn't go to him/her.

Yes, you can learn to like someone after getting to know them. However, whether or not, you'd do well in a marriage is a different thing. There's people I like or feel emotional connections with that I know wouldn't work in a marriage, because maybe their ego is too big, or they are too impulsive to have a joint bank account with and what not.

I didn't. Look in the italics in my post: "which means you chose your profession based on what you are passionate about."

Well then you fall into the I work because it's "just a job" and pays the bills category, and this doesn't really apply. This is more for the ambitious folk who work at a job/profession they love.

I doubt you've really experienced the world that much, because I too have met lawyers and bankers and such (in fact top notch ones like partners and MDs not just a paralegal or analyst), and yes, there is a strong divide in values between different professions. Sure, a banker can have a tattoo - as long as it's hidden behind a dress shirt. Like I said, you need to differnetiate between the people that work because they are passionate about it, vs work because it's just a job. Those that arne't h…

You can start with asking yourself why did you choose stocking selves as your career, and why you are passionate about it and why that makes you happy.

I did say in my last sentence that for those that work at your job to pay the bills or it's "just a job", it doesn't apply. This is more for those that chose jobs because they are passionate about it and want to be ambitious in it. I totally agree that many grown adults probably don't work in the profession that they are passionate about, but - that also means they aren't ambitious about their job. I made the caveat that you know who you are, and if you know who you are, you'd probably work in a…

Mmm, but think in value terms. You guys both probably entered more STEM based careers because you value logic and numbers and both think in those terms and communicate in those terms. So accounting and scientist are not too far apart as say social worker and accountant.

Actually, nurses value saving lives, and if you do the research, firefighters and nurses tend to be a decent match as both value saving lives.

Same or similar industry. Also if you don't live in US where women don't have as much equal opportunities, then idk, this probably doesn't apply.

You must not be ambitious or have experienced much of the world then because it VERY MUCH is tied to an industry. If you aren't money motivated, you wouldn't be in finance. If you don't like to be right in arguments, you wouldn't be a lawyer. If you don't like self expression, you wouldn't be an artist. You have a very naïve view of the world. Sure you can be an artist, but still care about money, but if you truly cared about money over self expression, you wouldn't have been an artist in the fi…

That's what friends are for. Allows you to experience something new, but you aren't close enough to have to live with them and spend a lot of time together. But when it comes to dating/marriage, then you want someone in the same profession. For example if you are in business, that likely means you like problem solving and are good at it. You aren't gonna marry someone that can't solve their own problems, because that would be annoying. Imagine trying to do household chores with someone that can'…

Well, that means you don't have a well developed identity yet and that's why you'd need to experience different things to know what you like.

Well psychologist enjoy helping other with their mental health. That's a value. So it would make sense to match with maybe a counselor, a life coach, maybe even a doctor (who's not in it for the money obviously), etc... I'm pretty sure STEM has a lot of women these days at least in the US, so engineers, can probably find someone like them as well.

Well the most recent one, I share my inner thoughts, she gives like one liner responses as opposed to actually having a convo. I don't really expect like an immediate response I mean it's all based off just normal people dynamics. If I send a long text and it's too much, usually people just say let me get back to you later, or they don't respond until they have time to - and when they do, it's something thoughtful. She did mention she's more of a caller, I just usually like to share my thoughts …

TBH, I think it's a bit my fault since I been going for more type A personalities, who are obviously a bit more high strung/stressed, and thus, end up having low emotional capacity. But, I know a type B would frustrate me since I'm pretty organized with my life, and I'm looking for a partnership (so I'm neither the caretaker or being taken cared of - so like an equal relationship). And so if we take care of someone, it would be the kids. Only thing I really want is good emotional connection and …

I been going for women around 27-30, and I'm like 35. I still wanna date a bit before kids and all that. I already have a house - so that solves a big part of things. I'm trying to find someone young enough that isn't jaded with life and still has high levels of optimism (since I myself still have a lot of life goals still) but old enough that they actually know themselves, so that they live according to their values.

Just because he has a bitch face doesnt mean you have to do anything about it. You gonna tell him he needs to smile more?
