The survey is biennial. Data is released every 2 years. The survey is conducted over the course of that time. And they are using previous data because they included previous data in the lifetime numbers. I’ve explained this already.

Where did you get the idea that they get rid of the previous numbers? If they survey you and you tell them you were forced to penetrate someone, you are included in the lifetime statistic. The survey has already accounted for “prior years” in the survey. As time goes on they interview more people and the numbers become more accurate and paint a better picture of sexual violence. They don’t just get rid of the previous numbers. And as for everything else I’m totally for more awareness, but I’m here to explain that using this data to claim men are victimized more is wrong and deceitful.

Your first point is false. The most recent data says that only .7% of men were made to penetrate in the preceding 12 months of the survey compared to the 1.2% of women that were raped. And using the fixed numbers for the last year is far too strict to measure the overall picture of sexual violence in America. Over their lifetimes, 1 in 5 women experienced rape compared to 1 in 14 men who were forced to penetrate someone.

There are separate criteria to account for the different types of sexual violence. There are clear and concise parameters and descriptions for every type of sexual violence they accounted for and when compared the data presented in no way suggests that men are subjected to sexual violence more than women. Also, the quote I posted doesn’t mention the made to penetrate statistic, it mentions “forced to have non consensual sex” which at no point is mentioned in the report.
