Men are not intimidated by intelligent women, this is simply not where our priorities areI interpret agreeableness as being concerned with social cohesion, being non-confrontational and being “friendly” by which I tend to mean the superficial kind of friendly. An agreeable person isn’t likely to challenge someone who is talking bullshit or getting facts wrong, but will be great at comforting someone who is upset because their pet died. It’s an important trait and a useful one. This is definitely a trait which tends to be associated with women/femininity. But it’s not one of my stren… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 10/01/22 01:13 PM
Men are not intimidated by intelligent women, this is simply not where our priorities areI guess I agree with you then, mostly. But I don’t think the problem for intelligent women, whether or or they have an advanced degree, is that they wasted their time getting a college degree and aren’t agreeable enough. The problem is that lots of otherwise intelligent women think they should be in a relationship — any relationship will do! Intelligent women should pursue their lives as they see fit, and not worry about men who don’t want to date them because they are not agreeable (or less ste… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/01/22 07:59 PM
Men are not intimidated by intelligent women, this is simply not where our priorities areI think this is bit off topic but most US PhD students, if they have éducation-related loans, it will be for undergrad. PhD students don’t exactly get paid well but they don’t usually have to pay tuition, between grants and teaching. At least at the first two ranks of universities. This isn’t true for law school or medical school of course but then the earning for JD and MD is expected to be higher. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/01/22 03:07 PM
Men are not intimidated by intelligent women, this is simply not where our priorities areRight — I’m saying that the cost issue is not an issue (for the most part) outside of the USA. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/01/22 02:05 PM
Men are not intimidated by intelligent women, this is simply not where our priorities areUndergrad gender gap is big; not nearly as big at PhD, MD, JD. 90+ % of female PhD, MD, JD I know are married (and I know a large number). To other PhD, MD, JDs. (Also, I don’t think you have a very good understanding of what an advanced degree entails, especially in countries other than the USA where the costs are…not the same). | /r/PurplePillDebate | 07/01/22 08:37 PM
Men are not intimidated by intelligent women, this is simply not where our priorities areI think the problem for intelligent women is bothering with men who aren’t their intellectual match. If my lack of “agreeable” qualities got in my way (possible! Oh no) so be it. Intelligent women should stop worrying about all the me who don’t want to date them — intelligent women should know better than to look for any man, qua man, to support her. There’s a reason women with advanced degrees marry men with advanced degrees, almost without exception. As a woman with a PhD I don’t know any of m… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 07/01/22 06:17 PM
What do you think of the idea of dating a man who is shorter than you and why couples which the woman is taller than the man are rare?I’m pretty short so I haven’t dated a guy shorter than me (I’m 5’3” — I’ve only ever met one adult male who is shorter than me). I have dated/hooked up with guys who were “short” tho - 5’5” or so. I’ve also dated guys of average height or somewhat tall. Ultimately height just wasn’t a factor in whether I was attracted to a guy. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 09/01/21 06:53 PM

Weekly Community Chat Megathread (25 October 2020)In line with my experience as a highly educated woman who is friends mostly with other highly educated women. The vast majority of my friends are married, very few divorced (we are mid-30s). Also we tend to marry later in life (after age 27 or so) to men we have dated for at least two years. That helps drive down divorce rates a lot I’m sure. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 01/11/20 06:51 PM
Are childless women actually happy or is it just copeSo all the women who play golf are just doing it to impress men? Seems unlikely... I mean, I hate golf, so maybe I’m missing something but if a woman wants to play golf I don’t think that means she wants to be a man, I think it means she likes golf. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 17/10/20 05:33 PM
Seems like women aren't attracted to men who are their equals, we still have to be bigger/richer/older etc,Anecdotal counterpoint: my husband and I have an egalitarian relationship. He is tallish (6’) and I am short (5’3”) but I have much more money than he does, and he is (slightly) younger than me. We have equal educational attainment (PhD level, we met in grad school) and are well-matched in attractiveness (above average, normal weight). He has a good job, and I’ve chosen to be a stay at home mom at least while our child is pre-school age. But I am financially independent. And he is an active, ent… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 11/10/20 05:57 PM

Does commitment hold women back?On what basis do you assume that all women who choose to raide children do so without working or having their own financial resources? Choosing to have and raise children is a commitment and can be a sacrifice, but not all women who do so are forced to give Up their job or other source of income. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 11/10/20 05:27 PM
N-counts?Most of my friends married late too — but, like me, to a man they had been dating for at least several years. This is very common for highly educated women in my experience. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 10/09/20 11:08 AM
N-counts?I am a 30+ white, middle class American woman and exactly one (1) of my female friends has more than 10 sex partners (she has probably c. 30). I have had 4, of which 3 were in relationships (2 multi-year, and the last one is my husband of almost six years, 12 years together). This is pretty typical of my friends’ « n-counts ». What may distinguish my friendship group from other 30+ white middle class women? We almost all have advanced degrees of some kind, and cery few of us come from families o… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 09/09/20 05:54 PM
Do men dislike being approached by women romantically or is that just a myth?Wary By and large FYI | /r/PurplePillDebate | 09/09/20 05:40 PM
Is the marriage/birth rate declining because women don't want it? Or is it because men are of increasingly low quality. The birth rate is dropping because women are going to college (at a greater rate than men) and using birth control. The number one way to drop birth rate is to educate women. It’s a good thing. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 30/08/20 04:37 PM
