This is such great advice! A year after graduation, one of my male friends committed suicide and my family and I attended his funeral. My LVX was angry that I had ‘ignored’ his messages, and once I told him where I was, he proceeded to ignore me for a week. Talk about lack of human decency, ugh.

In Australia, this stems from the fact that the child’s ‘right to have a relationship with both parents’ is given the SAME CONSIDERATION as the ‘child’s safety’. Other factors (such as circumstances) are given lower consideration. The fact that the child’s safety is not paramount is absolutely terrifying. As someone who had to choose at 10 years old to run away so she wouldn’t be forced to go to her abuser’s house, the system does. not. work.

I have quite young parents (early 40s) and it’s horrifying to think about how many men who are either older than my parents or closer to my parent’s age hit on me (early 20s) 🤕 these men could have gone to school with my dad 🤮

Not at all surprised to see police on there - they accept just about anyone and seemingly miss massive red flags in their recruitment processes. For example, my ex got into major trouble from a law firm for impersonating them and trying to stalk me. In the process, he pretended to be a lawyer and sent me an email threatening to ‘sue me for defamation’. The idiot sent it from his private email, and it was riddled with inaccuracies and spelling mistakes. As a law student, it took one call to alert…

This looks so much like my ex it’s eerie - my friend even sent me this image months ago because she thought the same and the circumstances were spot on. I broke up with him in 2017 because he was abusive (found out later he cheated on me), I moved overseas for a year and had absolutely zero contact with him. I blocked him on everything. Except for email, which he used to impersonate a lawyer threatening to sue me for ‘defamation’. Fair to say, as a legal graduate, I contacted the actual law firm…

Going to use this for sports as well! Footballer and male footballer, AFL and men’s AFL, rugby and men’s rugby - I love this

I agree with this! It’s also about maintaining judicial independence, making sure that the decisions of the court are separate and not influenced by the law makers.

I gasped reading your comment! My ex got me a Harry Potter wand for my birthday years ago. I’d never mentioned HP to him, I just had the books on my shelves, like every other woman my age. I enjoyed the series, but I wasn’t a massive fan. Plus I dislike gimmicky things. I never mentioned it to him because I was worried about hurting his feelings 🙃

That’s amazing! My Mum does charity work for DVCS and I work for a legal database in policy - paid domestic leave isn’t Government mandated, it differs depending on the company you work for. Here, New Zealand has made it enshrined in law. Hopefully other organisations across Australia can follow the example set by your Mum’s company!

This is amazing!! In Australia, it’s unpaid leave and it makes zero sense as financial abuse is normally intricately tied to domestic violence. So encouraging that New Zealand is making steps in the right direction!

this! Irritation at ‘slow’ responses is a massive red flag for me. I live an extremely busy life juggling uni, multiple jobs and competitive sport, and if a man doesn’t have the maturity to at least wait for a couple of hours for a text back, he sure as hell doesn’t have the maturity to be squeezed into my life.

he did indeed 🙃 he’s also a couple of years younger than me, which just adds insult to injury

The fact he has to indicate that he wants blow jobs makes me agree entirely with you

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
