So, she knew you had a ONS before you got married, you had regret and apologized and still got married. So whatever happened then is done and over with. Constantly bringing it up in your face is preventing everyone from moving on and basically feeding her anxiety. You need to make a hard line and inform her, you have already apologized, it happened years ago and the incident will never be brought up again. She has to be in charge of her own feelings of abandonment and crappy childhood. She has t…

So, how close is your relationship with your SO? The first person I tell I am getting a raise or a bonus is my husband. It affects both of us, and I want him to be happy and proud of me. The first person I tell serious health test results to is my husband. It affects both of us. So, when even telling your mom, or sister or best friend things first, it kind of gives off the vibe, that he isn't that important. He isn't at the top of the need to know list. The priority right now is not "well someti…

Sounds like a plan! Sometimes when my husband screws up, I have to step back and think...Is this actually a screw up, or did he just not do things "my way"? Secondly, I think about the times I screwed up, knew it and felt really bad. He graciously, didn't make a big deal out of it. It really made me feel better. STFU gives you time to collect your thoughts, and determine if it is something that is worth an argument or loss of closeness. Practicing this makes such a big difference in day to day i…

How are you going to handle the "ugly" next time? Make a plan so you know how to react. Screw ups happen, so be prepared. Every time you overreact it knocks his self confidence, and it puts you back in the shrewish, "I have to do everything around here" mindset. You know what they say failing to plan, is planing to fail.

I am so sorry, that is an awful suprise. I would be scared too. I don't think they repo your car if you are a few days late, so this car payment is really late. For the security of your family, I would look at the account, check on the bills, and schedule a business meeting together, just reviewing all your financial commitments. Do you have a monthly budget? Can bills be paid on autodraft? This would solve things if it was just "I forgot to pay it" This seems a lot bigger than forgetting to pay…

Have you read Surrendered Wife by Laura Doyle? Her book really gives practical advice on nagging, and having a respectful attitude. Are you having this "spoiled brat" attitude because you want him to "boss you around" and tell you to knock it off? Because he probably doesn't know this. So maybe you need to make this clear to him, (I am acting like a brat, because it turns me on when you dominate/correct me). You just got married, really no reason to make problems, or assume he can read your mind…

I am fairly new at this too, I read the Surrendered Wife in July, and have highlighted it, and put sticky notes on important pages. At this point in our marriage, things were very bad and we had nothing to lose by trying this. I had been in control for a long time, I had to take care of everything, make every plan, every decision. I was very resentful and exhausted because of all the stress. So I stepped back, I let him make decisions, it turns out my way isn't the only way to think or do things…

It seems like you have a lot of anxiety, and feel like you have very little control over your relationship. I think your boyfriend is also feeling this neediness/need to control vibe that you are putting off and finds it uncomfortable. So you need to step back. You can only control you. You need to work on being an interesting, fun, healthy person independent of your boyfriend. Your boyfriend will find this version of you more appealing, and even if your relationship doesn't work out, you will j…
