That just makes no sense to the military itself. Even weaker/smaller men get put into easier positions, or those such as recon and engineering. Then they don't need to be shaved or otherwise groomed much either because their tasks aren't at risk of being influenced by their hair or such. Long hair are mostly an issue to airforce and infantry combatants since they can get caught in guns, held by enemies or cover the line of sight.

A safe space isn't an echo-chamber that's designed to grow hateful of another group, it's supposed to be something that helps people process trauma and move forward with life.
