To argue your point that Everyone falls where they belong if they follow their dreams. Sometimes you don't know about a career path that could be your dream career. Making an incentive toward that group can lead them to finding something they like.
It's weird I always heard that argument, but at schools I've worked with Women are more likely to take higher level maths and they on average did better.
Women probably are only 10% of the students. It gets more women into the school. Which might get more men into that school. They are being used as bait.
