2	DEBUNKED: the current anti-"MensRights" rant being upvoted in 2XC, which is full of sourceless myths. Myth #1: Men cause most domestic violence. In polling, women admit to striking first in most domestic violence situations: - "Behind Closed Doors: Violence in the American Family" by Richard J. Gelles Men are simply prosecuted more, which is the real sexist injustice. If a woman attacks a man, & in his weakest defense he stops her attacks, he'll be convicted if he admits using any force. 2	Almost got fucked over tonight First let me say, sorry about the whole situation that you got caught up in. And good for you for coming out on top. But the funny thing is, even though charging you with assault is a bit over the top, they could have charged you with Battery (Which you can charge anyone with, so long as they touch you against your will.) 8	And this is a perfect example showing how stupid the laws against men are. I just wish that cops would be forced to read a story like this every once in a while. So when they respond to a domestic violence call, they would know that sometimes it is the tiny woman who abuses the big man. Fortunately this is starting to be more common (but not as common as we'd like). The department I plan to work for is real progressive and has the mind set of Victim and Offender.
