Same here. I was hoping to find connections to people who had similar experiences of difficulties with having Autism in school and work. Except all I got was more of the same discrimination. As far as I'm concerned the hostility some Autistic women have towards Autistic men is, ironically, them being pick mes of the community. They side with the society that failed to diagnose them and get them the help they needed. Then they go through all these circles to convince themselves they're the heros …

You're relationship with your sister sounds a lot like mine. She'll preach the man hating game, despite being married to a man, and is super progressive when effectively being a trad wife. I have cut contact with her though just because of the damage she would inflict, and just getting some clarity on how she abused me and others around her in the past (preventing me from doing basic hygiene in high school, screaming homophobic slurs and hitting her then boyfriend when he complimented a selfie I…

This is such an odd discussion. It's like they believe that men who are autistic, like myself, were allowed to be as autistic as we'd like and that autistic women... weren't. I had it pretty good as an autistic child (early intervention, occupational therapy, and an IEP), but I still ended up with PTSD due to the abuse I was subjected to in school. The conclusion I've come to with the train of thought we see here, and I'll admit that I am biased, is that it's an intentional effort to obsureate t…

"Women are always the victim." is a common mantra I've personally heard irl with these types. The positive attention going to any man is a threat.

No it's a disability and actually is disabling to most of not all with it. It's sad when people are so ableist that they can't describe themselves as disabled or just look down at their noses at us that do have different symptoms. It's also convenient for schools and corporations when if it's not a disability then they're not legally required to accommodate it.

I was diagnosed at 7 (they called it PDD-NOS back then) and while I did get some resources I wouldn't have otherwise like occupational therapy as my motor control function is impacted I was also the target of bullying by my classmates and abuse from their parents and the teachers. The teachers especially when my Parents didn't compitulate to their wants (sticking me in a room pretending I didn't exist but they still did it sometimes anyway).

Saw him talk about this on the Modern Wisdom podcast. I don't think he sold me on the documentary. It's like he's only a fraction of people who are barely relevant but for those who use them as anti male propaganda.

There are men who will put up with it. My BIL stayed with my sister even after she threw a rock the size of a football at his head. Even better when I threatened to call the police he and my parents witnessed it all agreed to lie for my sister's sake. Anyways I'm estranged from my sister and never been happier.

Listened to him on a Podcast and wasn't impressed. You nailed the reason why with just a conservative message with progressive language. Just a different version of Richard Reeves really. Especially the way he talks about certain groups as other than men instead of a different kind of males. To be charitable it was just one interview but I don't owe it to him to analyze all his work. I have a job and life to live.

My parents and I had the needed conversation about all that when I came out to them. As for the whole conversation it's a, "no-no" topic when everyone will turn against you for bringing it up. And then those who act in good faith are less likely to hear about it. I'm doing better now.

My sister is an, "Ally" and I saw a great amount of homophobia from her. I ended up cutting her off for other reasons, and I never told her I'm gay (my parents also agreed this was the best move). Getting enraged when gay men didn't act feminine because we owe it to women to act like them. She has also stated that if a gay man thought he was masculine he should be raped until he realizes he can't be. This was very weird because our family is fairly progressive and my parents are very pro gay but…

I don't interact with it anymore. I'm suspicious of whether or not most participating are Autistic, and I feel like it's been co-opted for other purposes. About a decade ago it was more concentrated on mistreatment in families and institutions now it's just so different that I don't even recognize it.

I'm in my early thirties and grew up in a progressive family. I gotta say in my early to mid twenties just how badly my I was treated by mainly women to the point it went past abuse into fully criminal. Either committing it themselves, lying for their men who did it to me, or just verbally accosting me when I tried to get help recovering from it. Unironically using the whole set up the system talking point to excuse Ableist and Homophobic hate crimes.

More neutral men aren't going to gain a lot of attention. If I may throw one name into the ring I'd say Max Miller from the YouTube channel Tasting History.

As a gay man I don't particularly feel MRAs are more homophobic than Feminists. I grew up in a leftist household and saw plenty of women who would describe themselves as Feminist say plenty of homophobic shit. As for the LGBTQ+ I consider myself divorced from that community when they would actively cover up/excuse discrimination and violence if the certain people did it. I'm pretty jaded about the whole thing really.

I've been slowly checking out of politics and am focusing on actually improving my life. Looking into medical problems, cutting toxic family members and friends off, and not obsessing on signaling that I'm not a bad person. My mental health has improved as well.

No. It just feels like it's another door into the usual bullshit. All discussions go towards autistic women and therefore women, and any of my negative experiences within the school system or in life "didn't happen" or "weren't that bad."

They only want the money from a larger student body and no other reason. It's not for the betterment of men or the concern for future employment.

As a disabled man the further I got from education the better my life got. It's filled with sociopaths who think their peers are either objects to use or obstacles to overcome. The disabled people who do succeed there hate those of us with higher needs, and think we deserve to be physically and sexually assaulted for making them look bad.

Came out as a teenager in HS. The amount of blatant fetishization by teachers (male and female) as well as the other details that stay between my therapist and I was overwhelming.

Grew up in a progressive leftist home. Since my family thought I was straight they let me hear what they really think of gay men. Especially my Ma and sister (who I am NC with now) and it was absolutely vile. Many people only tolerate minorities when they get clout for it.

I think the main concern about it is that single men have less or nothing to lose. So they'll make decisions or take risks that are less beneficial to society. Single men, if I remember right, are less likely to stay in a job that they dislike and are more likely to quit a job before finding another job. Men that are partnered have a hold of control over them (behave or BE SINGLE DUN DUN DUNNNNNN) but as a gay man who has always been single I don't find it that bad.

Honestly my immediate family is very Dem and I used to be too. However for a huge variety of reasons including men's issues, but not fully, I'm seriously considering not voting or just voting Trump. Of course I try and be judicious when voting for a candidate or choosing my politics as not just to change out of reaction.

I hate this grouping mentality we've picked up as a society. All these groups I supposedly belong to (men, white, disabled, LGBTV+...) only provide very shallow relationships and anything besides the "Identity" (this is usually for the latter two categories) is ignored at best or involves a struggle session at worst. Nothing is gonna happen when we assign problems to groups because we end up with issues like Tin posts about. It gives an excuse for those who are in charge to neglect their duties …

Commenting so I can read and respond later. Rn all I'll say is I divorced myself from The Community due to a similar issue and what I would describe as a struggle session to make me change.

Unexpected post topic. While I have no issues with people having preferences the comments (scrubbing in bleach for ex) cross a line into bigoted. I've heard a lot about bi women and their distain for bi and gay men. I think the fetishization they deal with puts them on a pedestal.

Also, in my experience, there's a taboo to speak about violent homophobia in the gay/progressive communities. Especially when it's done by straight people. The discussions is generally "lol closet cases/republicans" and going past that will cause even the most progressive people to lash out, call you a liar, or worse. I say this as a victim of homophobic hate crimes in a "progressive" area and state. Speaking about homophobia from straight liberals/leftists/tankies causes anathema .

Never liked school. Literally have PTSD from it (not telling the story of what caused it). I like learning but not school. I went to community college for two semesters after picking a random program for the sake of keeping my school loan. Went into academic suspension because my grades were slipping. Had mental health issues and did not receive any help from friends, family, or staff. I had no idea what I wanted to do, and this was during the 08 recession so there wasn't any guidance for me bes…
