If I want to nag, I give it time to pass. Don't keep ruminating on it, just get your mind off of it for 5-10 minutes. One of two things happens once I've settled myself back to emotionally neutral: 1) I realize that I was just being emotional and this isn't worth complaining about or 2) I find it IS worth bringing up, but now I'm calm so it's not a nag anymore but a constructive conversation that I start respectfully. It's a very simple solution, but it's definitely not always easy.

Absolutely not! Divorce is on the table when what he's doing is considered cheating. If you want to negotiate an actual "open" marriage that is one sided- not my cup of tea, but you do you. But you're calling it cheating so it's completely inappropriate in a marriage. I swear, these must just be trolls trying to prove traditional women are just doormats or something.

Yes, absolutely. In fact, I'm 6 years younger than my husband and we've noted many times that it's about as large a gap as we'd go with for long term. Otherwise, logistics alone get weird. Once you cross 9 years, you're a generation younger/older- that's not to be taken lightly. I'm not saying people should never have such a large gap, but I find a lot of red pill men don't appreciate just how impactful this really is to your happiness. It really isn't just about sex at a certain point. Who's dr…

He's an anomaly because he's high status. My husband and I have discussed a second wife and specifically wouldn't go below 28, so there you go.

You make sweeping statements about a 22 year old ALWAYS being "worth" more. It's a false dichotomy and sends way to many good women into dark alleys. Everyone ages, even men. My husband is extremely high quality and I promise you, he would never seriously date a 22 year old at this stage. My brother is recently divorced and high status late 30s and specifically won't date under 40. He freely admits younger is hotter but everything else is worse, assuming women of an otherwise similar IQ et al. S…

I am not discussing a woman on the dating market. This is red pill WOMEN. We're married and EXTREMELY valuable to our husbands', even if our sexual market value is dwindling down to none. My husband doesn't need or want me innocent of the life we built together! I'm optimistic with him about our future.

Fort short term mating, yes. As a long term mate for a relatively young alpha, yes. As a long term mate for an older or even old low quality male (assuming at least 1 high quality trait- like wealth) absolutely. But, a high quality man in his 40's or more? No. A truly high status male at that level is too mature. Wealth is not the only marker of status so we can dispense with all that. At 22 you're hot, and hot is super valuable! The goal is to be 72 and stunning- more precious than gold having …

Relative youth matters more than absolute youth though. At least in the top quality men by my standards.

As I age, the more I realize they really do BECOME unimportant. I've been married 11 years. I do believe him when he says some women look too young for him at his age. I'm bi, so I see it too and agree; it's not that I'm unaware the woman is hot -for her age, but 22 year olds are starting to look like children to me.

Asking his intentions behind cheating on her- but leaving out the extremely pertinent detail that he had have reason to think you two were going to have sex soon, radically changes his potential motives in this situation.

With respect, most men will get rock hard from most women. Getting a man with an erection to beg for sex is no great challenge or mystery. The person is pointing out that the thrill of a new partner, in addition to the thrill of cheating, are both reason enough for plenty of people. He had little love or respect for you by definition- he wasn't faithful to you either and lied to you with malicious intent.

If they won't answer yes or no then that IS your answer. I would advise against ever dating anyone who won't answer very basic and fundamentally important questions.

And plenty of men not only don't care, but can be totally empathetic to that situation. The world is way more nuanced than "She's not a virgin, nevermind."

My husband and I knew each other for a decade before we dated. He specifically refused to date me initially because I was a virgin. Not all guys are into it apparently. Even now, knowing we would be married, he still insists he doesn't regret that decision. On a few occasions I've lamented having had other partners but his perspective is we were way too immature at the time and he's never liked the pressure of being a girl's first. He thinks we would have crashed and burned hard instead of windi…

Yup. I'm a SAHM. Currently my daughter is battling cancer so we spend days at a time in the hospital. Tonight was day 5 of 8 hour long infusions, plus a 90 minute round-trip to the big city hospital. It's a pretty standard working mom schedule and I'm burnt the fuck out. I truly feel like I never see my other children. I basically have time to put out one "fire" every day, meaning things have to be a flaming emergency before it's dealt with. I have a tremendous support network too, which makes m…

And you know those wives were damn savvy and intelligent themselves. It's absolutely a group effort building an empire. Wives are right there helping them make their moves. You hang on to that kind of partner.

That depends. If he has to come with the wealth then yes. If she's willing to build it together then I see wealth as more of a couple's goal.

I'll add networking to this too. My husband has aspirations for us to be a pillar of the community type of family. That means I'm mailing out the birthday cards, sending the sympathy flowers, bringing that new mother a dish tonight, etc... You need to have social graces and interact well with all types of people. You can vet for a financially stable man easily enough and you can establish these things subtly at first. Once you're actually dating seriously you can be a bit more candid about these…

I would HIGHLY recommend against getting more work done at this age. I think you're trying too hard to look like a 20-something. I'm 35, I get it, we don't look 25 anymore, but you can still look gorgeous. I think what your body is screaming for is to go back to basics: hydrate, eat well, fresh air, exercise, simple beauty routines. Do that for 6 months and see if you don't start looking better. Then, stop being concerned if a 23 year old would date you; find the age of man where you're still yo…

Especially in the early, carefree years! The amount of women who seem to hate their spouse before they even say "I do" is ridiculous. Why are you getting married to this person you don't even like!? You know this is the easiest part of the relationship so why would you START like that!? It makes no sense to me. My SIL spents the months leading up to marriage giving the ring back during fights and threatening to call it off. I've truly never even thought about giving the ring back. That's a MASSI…

When I was 25 and started dating my husband I moved to be closer to him. We knew this was a very likely lifelong partnership even in the first few months, and I had been planning on moving cities anyways, I just hadn't decided where I wanted to go. Dating him made that decision easy. Well, you'd think I'd told people I was moving to the Moon to join the mermaid army. Even though it also meant being much closer to my family too. Nope. You're not supposed to make any decision ever "for a man" even…

We want 3-4 too! We already have 2. I also encourage people to not wait too long either. I was in my 20's when we started trying and still had some trouble getting and staying pregnant with my first. There's definitely a balance that needs to be struck between security and fertility. We're going to have to have our kids a lot closer than we wanted, but so far I'm actually really enjoying the close spacing. My husband is a software developer, I was in mortgages. We used my income to pay off all debt, 20% down on a house, and invested. I took my maternity leave with no intention of ever going back. We were together almost 7 years before having children- not entirely the plan but so it goes. I would absolutely NOT go into debt to stay home. Yes, huge pet peeve of mine in the red pill community. It can be portrayed as if women just cease to have value at some point between 30 and 40. First, a high value man, treated well, is precisely the type of man who wants more than "young and hot." VET WELL! Secondly, while you should always take care of yourself, be VERY careful the level of self esteem you derived from your looks and youth. No matter who you are or how gorgeous you are, you will age, don't put more value on your external appe…

I look for nightgowns. It eliminates most overly provocative things as I can just buy lingerie if that's what I'm looking for. There's some serious old lady stuff, but there's plenty of younger options. I also by actual pajama sets. I think it's better looking and helps motivate me mentally to change in the morning as they are DEFINITELY not "street" clothes. Try department stores. They all sell them so just pick one that's your budget and style. There's of course Amazon too.

No one is arguing against that. Fathers are also historically older, on average, now too. We're better understanding that sperm quality and quantity also drops with age. That's all that is being said.

I never said it guarantees issues, but old sperm causes issues too. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/the-link-between-autism-and-older-parents-is-clear-but-the-why-is-not/2017/12/15/dbe03284-dc62-11e7-b859-fb0995360725_story.html

Inseminate a woman? Sure. Be a husband and father in a meaningful capacity? No. And healthy? Well, there's some debate about that too as the link between older fathers and birth defects is becoming more clear, as well as other risks like increased prevalence of autism and schizophrenia in children of men over 35.
/r/RedPillWomen05/10/21 03:59 AM

Mostly the issues start on the second half of life. I've witnessed several situations where the younger partner is still young, active, and working and the older partner starts needing some serious end of life care. There's no guarantees who dies first, but you I know a widow in her 40s and another in her 50s. That's just a little too young to be without a life partner but a little old to have to start completely over. How many children you have, how close together is affected too. A man in his …

My husband and I are 6 years apart and it works pretty well, but definitely has some hiccups. I personally think around 8 years gets really tricky and more then 10 becomes unwieldy. Of course, that's just my opinion. I'm personally a planner type so things like when to have children, when to retire, when to head to a senior community, end if life care were all on my mind in my 20's having witnessed some bad scenarios due to large age gaps.

To be honest, I never watch people's stories, I find the whole notion obnoxious. I do, however, accidentally click on them constantly. There are a million reasons he could be on FB but not texting you. Trying to figure out why will only make you crazy. If he texts you, great, if not, then he's just not into you. Move on. Don't use up so much energy on some guy you had 2 dates with.

Yeah, I agree. I LOVED being a teacher and working with kids. Don't get me wrong, I definitely have plenty of fun with my kids, but it's absolutely relentless. There is always someone who is clambering for my attention, 2 kids, 2 dogs, and a husband. I quite literally get only a few minutes each day where no one wants or needs me. It's exhausting down to your soul.

To my knowledge, no, not in the US. Tradesmen who own their own shop to exceptionally well here, though that is in part due to how they are able to work and earn money while learning a trade instead of going into debt before entering the labor market with a degree. If they're savvy, they stay ahead of the game the whole way through.

Yes. It isn't accurate to say the labor force doubled, though it certainly increased substantially, particularly in certain middle income and high income fields that never traditionally had a strong female labor force. This is coupled with a significantly greater number of people in general holding college educations. So, basically, certain labor markets have been "flooded" in recent years. It is true that incomes have been stagnant for decades, but, like with everything else, the reasons are mu…

Seriously. I'll take short, small dick, and slightly pudgey. A core value of mine is staying home with children, but he just needs a middle class salary for that since I'm pretty frugal. My husband happens to be a "three 6 man" as they're called, but that's not what I was looking for specifically. It's our values, politics, religion, and so on that matters.

I agree with you totally. I forgot about the loss of time! Until you have young kids you really can't appreciate how huge that is. I'm 100% opposed to swinging, open marriages, or any form of casual sex outside of your relationship. It's not high value behavior, first and foremost. Raising children, for a HUGE one. There is absolutely no logical reason to do it, any of it, at all. The whole system relies on maternal feelings. Likewise with sharing resources amongst them. Logic would NEVER favor the youngest, weakest, sickest, etc... Marriage, while there needs to be a logical component to it, is also a very emotional endeavor. I'll say all human relationships, generally speaking, require a more emotional than intellectual approach. Tending plants and animals as well. Peopl…

I find being on social media creates far more of an echo chamber than I could curate in real life. I haven't deleted, but I have done this: eliminate all the social media that you don't "need" to function day to day. Then, set daily usage limits on your phone for them. Additionally, set a timer everyday, mine is 9:30 AM and put your phone into "work mode" that specifically blocks your time wasters. For a few days you might hate it, but it becomes wonderfully freeing!

You're thinking captain means "above" or "better than" when it only means "leader." I would say don't ever marry anyone you wouldn't trust to make every decision for you, not because he should, but because legally he basically can:his debts are yours, his property is yours, if you're deemed unable to make legal or medical decisions he will make them for you, he gets equal say in all child matters, on and on. Yes! People forget that just because we have machines to do the cleaning does not mean there is not work loading/unloading, maintaining, and cleaning said machines. We also owned about 3 outfits, so saying things like sewing, mending, laundry is definitely true, but it wasn't the wardrobe you would expect today. Laundry wasn't done more than once a week, and often not even that frequently. It's unfair to compare just like it's unfair to judge plowing a field vs being an accountant.

I'm of incredibly significant value as a housewife. It is easier than in the past in many ways, absolutely, but there are plenty of new modern demands that still make it a full time job. Men also used to work far more labor intensive jobs, as a whole, than they do now. It doesn't mean I don't respect my husband for working all day just because he's behind a desk.

I'm a SAHM. My husband and I stress "fair, but never equal." He does certain house chores, maybe 10-25% and makes all the money. I do all the remaining chores and about 80% of child care (closer to 100% for the under 2s.) For us, in our marriage, with our strengths and preferences this is a very fair, but by no means equal division of labor. We feel interdependent and no one feels resentful about their load. No. Marriage of any kind does not give you a higher legal standing than natural born children unless they are also your children. If you have or your spouse has children from a previous marriage you need a will, full stop.

And even if you are married, any children he has that aren't yours are legal heirs EQUAL to you, meaning: without an ironclad will, the get half his estate, including real property. Hard pass from me. Marriage was non-negotiable. It is absolutely not the same level of commitment as dating. I hate the government too, but that's such a weak argument. This is a legal contract between 2 people, which is something I, as a libertarian, borderline anarcho-capitalist am ALL ABOUT. I'm going to disagree with you here. I don't think the actual degree is what men are looking for but rather an educated, cultured woman. I've found they mostly can't actually tell, they just don't like the idea of left overs or frozen. In my husband's case, his mother was a terrible cook and often let food expire/get moldy, so he just wouldn't eat anything not fresh until I showed him it was fine. I had a lot of guilt early on about all I don't do, and kept trying to do everything, but it's so much better to pour your efforts into what you can do well and master that. My husband was this way too at first. You might consider gently breaking him of this. I didn't start dating my husband until I was 25, thankfully. No one i was dating before then was husband material, and I would have blown it with him any younger as I was far too immature. I grew up in a rural area, but I lived in NYC and Boston in my 20s; we then moved back to a rural area. I can 100% confirm. I got married at 29, bought a house at 30, and had my first child at 31and second at 34. In my circle of city friends, I am one of the youngest to do anything of the sort. Many are still single in their mid-thirties. Conversely, most of my friends I grew up with who stayed local have school aged children, a few have highschoolers! My husband is 6 years older, so he's on par…

I don't consider his parties an active hosting requirement. I'll set things up, but then I get as out of the way as possible, what with it being man o'clock and all. My husband also loves to host almost as much as I do so it's really his opportunity to have complete control over an event.

Totally. There are very real practical considerations you need to make when choosing a spouse. It is absolutely a business transaction as much as it is a selection of mate and companion.

I personally wouldn't, but I knew I wanted to be a full time SAHM. I made that abundantly clear while dating and never got too serious with someone who couldn't support us. That doesn't mean you're wrong to marry him, just my perspective. Would he consider being the SAHD? In my research and lived experience life with young children is infinitely easier when one spouse is fully focused on the home front.

Huge red flag. Either: A) he has a bunch of beta female orbiters or is spinning plates. He may also be hoping to pick up "nice guy" points and turn these women into girlfriends one day. Or B) he's not capable of existing well within the male social hierarchy so he avoids it. A man, by definition, isn't part of the female hierarchy, so it's a cowardly social strategy. A way of winning by default. A man doesn't need to be #1 in a hierarchy to be esteemable, but he does need to play the game. Same …

There is no "my" net worth, but our net worth was about $350,000 when we got married. I quit working 2.5 years later when our first was born, so our financial situation wasn't radically different, though we bought a house in between so a lot of it shifted to equity.

As a fellow co-sleeper we just go to the couch or guest bedroom. Sex is almost never spontaneous with 2 littles, but I don't see that that matters much. Just put it on the calendar and have it. Spontaneity will return as they age, what's important now is to just maintain the connection. Your sex life doesn't need to look like anyone else's, including your own before the baby. As for post partum bodies: by all means work on the weight, but i do find we tend to be way harsher on ourselves than the…

No argument, I'd encourage all women to be married before 30 to well avoid that problem. That said, there is absolutely the message sent to women from RP that you're completely disgusting by 30, maybe 35 with good habits.

I won my husband by baking him a great birthday cake, which I also had a slice of. My figure was great then, and is usually great now (9 months pregnant so I'm basically a land whale at the moment! Everyone gives women shit for hitting the wall, but the truth is, almost everyone ages like milk. I think women tend to age harder and faster because they are both more inclined to do damaging things to look good in youth (dye hair, sunbathe, etc...) and the demand pregnancy, childbirth, and raising children places on women cannot be understated. This is not to say women have to or should let themselves go once they're pregnant, but it is to point out a very real physiological response and shift…

2nd wave was a mixed bag. Some of it was needed. Women couldn't get a car loan without a male cosigner, regardless of ability to repay, for example. However, the other shit they snuck in there too? And now 3rd wave is just 100% useless nonsense.

Just chiming in to say while it may smooth lines, it's definitely not natural looking; Personally I find it off putting. Keep in mind, you're SO YOUNG. Is this really a path you want to start down now, because there's no getting off that train once you're on it. I doubt if you start now you're suddenly going to wake up at 30, 40, or 50 and be okay with those wrinkles now. This is A LOT of time and money to invest over the rest of your life.

Yeah, my husband had to be ordered to work from home and his office shut down before he did. I think it's something deep seated in men whereas women are far more willing to "run and hide" as it were.

Yes, definitely put in more effort in general towards appearance. Then OP might start doing things to initiate if she feels sexier. OP feeling sexier and initiating more might start a positive reinforcement cycle where he starts to initiate more. It seems obvious to me they probably limit their commute to be more available to their children. God forbid women should prioritize family even slightly above work and money. You can't be the CEO in the city and be home at 3 in the suburbs for the school bus. This isn't the patriarchy, it's the same work/life decision men have had to make for decades.

So? Women head the household and men head the family. If individual families want to adjust those roles, I'm all for it, but the consequences to society of demolishing that structure has been dire. Look at what's happening to our own society. Were there things wrong with society in the 50s? Very much so. Are we better off social socially than we were in the 50s? I'd argue vehemently no. No success story from me, but I want to wish you luck! I'd also offer the advice to look for older men. Youth being relative, most of the women I know who are successful at an older age get this. I don't know exactly how much older, but my guess is early 40s. Most of the women in their early-mid 30s who are still single are chasing guys their own age. Yes. In fact, ironically, many of us who are opposed to feminism are also fairly timid. Not in a bad way, we're just less likely to be assertive and aggressive, we tend towards being more agreeable and trying to keep the peace. A lot of us are quite afraid of speaking out in public.

This is a false dichotomy. Plenty of emotionally healthy people are charming. I don't think this post is bashing equality, I think it's pointing out that you can't "have it all." This woman now has to work because of education debt and has too late realized what that tradeoff actually entails. A whole generation of women were told they had to work much the same way their grandmothers were told they had to stay home. Feminism has given women the same lack of choice it claimed to correct, just in the opposite direction.

I'm sorry, but what the fuck!? Just no. Under no circumstances is it okay to beat your wife. Just no. Divorce her then. Monogamy didn't start with Christianity. Just because a man CAN impregnate that many women doesn't mean we're therefore non-monogamous. The anthropological research indicates we're flexible, that's why we can't even agree on if we're monogamous or not, the answer is yes and also no.
/r/RedPillWomen04/01/20 04:51 PM

I do, actually, but you're starting from such a fundamentally false place that I'm not even going to bother. You can't boil it down to women are monogamous and men aren't though, the science just doesn't back that, to say nothing of the thousands of years of recorded history that demonstrate time and again a strong monogamous bent in human nature. At best it can be boiled down to humans are basically monogamous and will opportunistically cheat, but this is still a gross simplification.

I'm sorry for whatever is going on for you that you think you need to accept a man like that, but you don't. Yes, men want sexual variety, but that is not the only parameter that defines them. Learning about hair type, porosity, etc... I finally figured how to take care of my hair properly without it getting frizzy or oily. I never understood why I always used "too much" argan oil and looked greasy. Turns out my hair just doesn't absorb certain oils well. I need to use different techniques and oils than what is mainstream. Who knew? 9 months later and my hair is so much healthier!

Conversely, learn how to rock healthy, natural wavy and curly hair. I started doing the curly girl method. My confidence is way up and my hair looks amazing. I feel more like "me." You're essentially saying all the other women are shallow. I'd say that's simply not true. You need to find where less shallow people are and then work on your own attitude so you don't alienate them. Partially this is a function of age, teens and early 20s people do tend to be more shallow, but I also suspect a lot of confirmation…

I see no problem with them in theory, but I've never seen a healthy one in reality. The ones we see on TV very rarely show the true problems these people have. There's a certain allure to it when you're only shown the advantages and some minor issues.

Absolutely! It's sad, but we're human. Rich men and beautiful women can get away with a hell of a lot before anyone notices or cares. Such is life. OP, for what it's worth, a new piece of lingerie used immediately upon his return will go a long way. Follow that up with your conversation later that day or the next and it should hopefully go a lot smoother. I find a common mistake we make is expecting intimacy and then sex and men are the other way around on that. You need to meet his needs first …

Great answer. Also, I can not stress this enough ladies: Men don't care about your degree or job Like, not at all, not any amount. Especially if he's already rich and any amount of red pilled. This doesn't mean they won't go for women with fancy degrees, but stop putting it on your dating resume like some kind of bait. WOMEN are drawn to these things so we think men will be too; false! Good response. I agree but would like to add it's not always SMV issues. Definitely look into that as a first step, but a stunning bitch is pretty unattractive after the novelty wears off. Even if you're still keeping yourself up, it's always a good idea to examine our character too. Eventually we all have a SMV of 0 and personality is all that's left. That having been said, there's a lot of potential red flags in OP's story. If this behavior is new then it may be about another woman and/or some…

I second this. I lost 6 pounds in a month (and kept it off.) I do 16:8 Monday through Thursday and then the weekends I still fast but it's a lot more dynamic and usually I don't fast one day. There are so many extra calories I used to mindlessly eat while preparing breakfast and lunch that I just don't eat now, to say nothing of actually just skipping breakfast 6 days a week.

I don't remember ever not wanting to be a mom. I decided I wanted to be a SAHM in high school. All through college I kinda felt silly picking a career since I wanted to stay home, but you're "supposed" to go. I was purple pill back then. Told any guy I was even remotely serious with about wanting to have 3 children and stay at home. Now I'm a SAHM to 1and trying for #2. I think so much of it is age, children, and individual libido. People say all men want sex all the time and that's simply not true. Each couple needs to asses their own desire and find the overlap. You also need to update that model as life circumstances dictate. Sex isl important, but how important is different for everyone.

Definitely something to consider. I think, in general, some men place more stock in looks than others and you'll need to plan accordingly. My husband is 6 years older, which is great, but as I get older it feels like I have less and less of an edge by being younger. I will say that your husband may be more reacting to his own aging when he insults these other women than your aging. Also, once you're his age you'll still be 11 years younger than women his age.

I have friends who used to think we were poor. Our house gives us away now, but before that we were in a 500 sqft apartment. People completely do not understand the difference between having money and spending money. Most of our wealth is in various investments as well. People just assume you spend the most you can on things like your car. Imma drive my Subaru and watch my money pile up, you have fun in your Benz and crippling debt.

I'd probably fit that category. Married for almost 4 years, together for almost 8. We both come from fairly affluent families. Math is a cruel mistress! You still have plenty of time, honestly, but you don't have time to waste. Married with children is still totally doable by 30, but you're going to need a guy who is on that page too. I try to remind myself that this is the internet. I don't know who I'm getting advice from. Here and on other forums it can be easy to start feeling badly about yourself because everyone else has it so together even though you're likely not speaking to a true peer. Assuming there's no underlying medical issue, which is worth checking out, I'd follow advice for people trying to bulk or doing a re-feed after an eating disorder. The basic gist is to "hide" calories in everything. Some examples: butter your vegetables, add cheese on top of everything, use whole fat dairy instead of skim and use cream instead of whole milk. I don't know all the details of your relationship, but don't stay in it simply because you've already spent a lot of time in it. This reminds me of the phrase "don't chase bad money with good money." This is such a good point! 10 years ago I could eat garbage, never sleep, drink, smoke, wear cheap makeup poorly, just do whatever with my hair, dress like a loon, etc and I would still get hit on constantly. I was mid to late twenties when I started realizing I couldn't count on being beautiful without any effort anymore. As I age, the effort increases. Well clearly I'm in the minority opinion here. I think there is something very strange looking about an "enhanced" brow. All the times I've had my makeup professionally done, this has never come up. In general BMI is a valid tool, albeit flawed. I will grant you, yes, for very muscular people it is typically quite wrong. I think it's important for most of us to realize we aren't the exception. I've personally always liked body fat percentage as an indicator, but that's a lot harder for most people to figure out. Edit: for clarity, I'm making no judgment at you. I've been using it to FINALLY get some of those things done that just seem to pile up but are never a priority. So far I've organized all the bathrooms, guest bedroom, and my laundry area, designated and sorted items into "keepsake" boxes, cleaned my vacuum and replaced the filter, got the dogs groomed, finished the details for 2 of the 3 birthday parties I'm responsible for, and finished a s…

Good tips! I like baths personally. Once she got too big for her bouncer I just started bringing her in with me. I have a really big tub, so she wears an "otteroo" and swims around while I do my thing. It works out decently, certainly better than not bathing for days!

I have a night each week, set in stone, where my husband comes home and I go take a bath. I facemask, bath bomb, do my feet etc... I take about an hour. Sometimes it's purely a mental break and I just soak, but it's great to have the time if I want it. For nails, I've never liked having manicures and I don't like the look of painted nails (I'm a weirdo, I know.) I have a little kit with my files, clippers, lotions, etc... Once a week I bring it to whatever room I'll be in and do my nails. I only…

I replied further up too, but seems relevant here. I'm CGM too. I do my washes in the kitchen sink. I can keep an eye on my daughter but still have 15-20 minutes to go through the whole routine. Just keep a few extra tee shirts handy in case you need to mid-wash plop to avert toddler destruction.

I wash my hair in the kitchen sink now for this reason. I can actually do a pretty involved routine this way. I'd never get it done properly if I waited for naps or evenings. Never thought to add a makeup routine, but that's a great idea.

Well, I'm a SAHM. I had a career and that wasn't fulfilling to me. I'm a lot more than young and pretty, and I'm hardly agreeable. 🤣 I find meaning in many ways. Do I miss being "important" with my meetings and subordinates? Sure, sometimes. If that's where you find your meaning, have at it, but let's not pretend like a career is the only way for a woman to be fulfilled. It's incredibly insulting to dismiss me as young and dumb for not having a job outside the home. Yes, we're incredibly fortuna…

That's not disagreeing with me though. You're just describing hypergamy. I'm not saying no man would want you because you're successful, I'm saying your success is not likely to be the primary draw for a man. Edit: re-reading my initial comment I see the confusion. I don't mean they don't look for it as in they don't want it, I mean it's not a "must have" top priority the way it is for women. Also, intellectual compatibility is usually desired by most men I know, but I don't class that under "su…

These are good points. I'd like to add 2 more. First, it's also possible she let herself go since their relationship. They could have both been a 7, and he improved to an 8 and she devalued to a 6. Secondly, it can not be overstated that women expect successful partners (in the traditional sense of degrees, titles, income, etc...) Men by and large don't look for these in a mate. I see a lot of women confusing what they want in a mate with what men want.

Same thing everyone else is saying. Treat yourself like an addict, because you basically are. There's definitely emotional issues you've been using easy sex and attention to cover up. You'll need to start working through all that or else you'll just hop back on the CC next time life gets tough. Learn about, and implement self care in general. Here are some suggestions to get you started: Journaling, meditation, religious practice, exercise, stretching/yoga, therapy, volunteer work (one of the be…

This! I tell younger women all the time that date #1 you should let him know you want marriage and a family and any intentions you have with those things. It will scare him off? GOOD. I made no compunction about this and I'm now happily married, staying at home with my first, and an agreed to 3 child minimum. I'm not a terribly assertive person, but some things are too important. Congratulations on your engagement!

No, but you raise a valid point. Each generation tends to rebel against the previous generational norms. I'm hoping to at least have my daughter understand the choice she truly faces, even if she makes different choices. Fingers crossed!

No, kinda the opposite. My grandmother truly had to work as they were poor. My mother was NEVER going to be poor again. To be fair, she never was.

I'm a SAHM and my husband freely admits he could never do what I do and that my job is WAY harder (and he has a pretty demanding career.) I watched my mother "have it all" and noped right the fuck out of that. Most women would be perfectly content to stay home. We've been lied to and sold a false bag of goods for decades. The best thing we can do is be honest with our children moving forward. Some families will always need (or want) the second income, but so few women are told the harsh truths o…

Yes, quite a bit! Not to scare you, but I was super bloated the whole time. They kept checking me for issues but I was very healthy otherwise. I tried everything to stop it, but the only thing that worked was giving birth 🤣. I actually weighed more when I got home from retaining all the IV fluids too. Don't worry, I lost like 20 pounds in a week! It was crazy!!!

This is an excellent point in general. Don't let your SMV/RMV drop too far below your spouse's or they won't be your spouse for long. What that means is going to be different for everyone. My husband's friend is decently high value and happily married to a pretty overweight woman, the thing is, he's REALLY into it, so hey, it works.

No, I think there are valid reasons in life to cut back on the time we devote to certain things. Exercise is always important for health, and staying relatively thin is important to maintain my marriage, but being a perfect size 4 and bikini ready year round just isn't my priority anymore. For some women it is, and that's great! Right now it's more important to me to get the extra sleep or to have a date night. If we're honest with ourselves, we know when we're just full of shit and lazy versus …

You sound like me! I basically ate buttered English muffins ( which I never eat in "real" life) and cut up vegetables. The thought of a salad was disgusting to me but putting the same things separately on a plate was fine for some reason. 🤷‍♀️ My workouts were pretty damn lame some days. I would literally nap on my office floor with all my computer sounds turned up so I could hear anything urgent coming in. I used to judge women who let themselves go so hard before pregnancy and children. I'm no…

Good to know this might not always be an issue! I'm a year into breastfeeding and my nipples are still extremely sensitive. Everyone keeps telling me theirs got less sensitive but I'm not experiencing that. I got plenty of attention once I was given the all clear. I truly had little to no desire for any form of sex even after my 6 week all clear but I know it's vital for a marriage so we made it happen. I also took care of myself plenty, and still do. Orgasm is an underated tool for health in ge…

I didn't have much nausea thankfully, but the exhaustion was brutal. I did have a very high sex drive when I had the energy though. We had a lot of weekend morning sex or right after work if we could. Don't worry, the 2nd trimester really does get better for almost everyone I know.

I would discuss this with your husband and stay open minded until you're actually postpartum. Here is how it worked for us, but the key is that we were both on board and adapted to our real situation, not plans we made ahead of time. While I was pregnant I was willing and able, but by the 3rd trimester he was too freaked out and wanted us to just take care of ourselves. This was fine by me since I was pretty exhausted anyways. For the 6 week recovery neither of us had much desire. We're first ti…

80 pounds of fat is inexcusable, but be aware the actual number on the scale is largely out of your control. I gained 44 pounds, and had lost all but 10 by 1 month postpartum. I worked out my whole pregnancy and ate mostly well but I could NOT get my swelling/water retention under control. It sort of ruined the experience because I was so focused on how "fat" I was getting. Eat right and exercise as best as you can and you'll only gain the fat you need. Don't worry about the actual number on the…

One thing that helps me a lot when I'm getting this way is to check my thoughts. I find I get snippy not so much due to anything in the present so much as a lot of negative thinking about my husband in general. A few things that have really helped. 1) bring up problems when everyone is calm. I tend to avoid conflict, but a little goes a long way when it's done calmly and respectfully. 2) when I catch the negative thoughts I first take 10 deep calming breaths while I completely clear my mind. The…

I don't have any problem with a commercialized holiday. While it is vital to maintain your relationship daily, having a day set aside to really do an extra special gesture is wonderful. It can also be a great kickstart to a relationship that may be starting to falter. It's also nice to have the societal expectation so that bosses don't expect overtime and no one plans other events. It's officially date night across the country and I think that's wonderful! That said, we don't go crazy. We write …

Yeah, I tend to be a little sensitive too. I can't really use neutrogena products at all or I become an oily pimpled mess! I've found Almay to be one of the few "regular" products my skin will tolerate well.

This whole story raises red flags for me. He's following chicks on IG who he thinks are hot? You're not "allowed" to wear makeup because you're trolling for a new man? He's not being a strong, assertive leader of you're relationship; he sounds insecure and like he's projecting his own wandering eye onto you. I dated 2 men like that before my husband. The first always insisted I would leave him for someone else, cheated on me multiple times. The second insisted I change the way I dress as I was c…

These are all great! Just a note about the shampoo and conditioner. These do not have to be expensive! I do what's called the curly girl method (there's a sub for it.) I use VO5 and tresemme cheapo products (there are several sulfate and silicone free drugstore products.) The shampoo I use once a month to clarify. I wash my hair twice a week with conditioner. Even for straight hair I'm pretty sure this works. My hair is way better than when I used expensive products.

I'd say a good rule of thumb is if you're wishing bodily harm on them or someone close to them. There's no place for that in civil discourse and you've automatically lost the moral high ground when you do it. That's a tactic these women employ is getting you so riled you lash out inappropriately. Then they don't have to contend with your argument, they can just show how deplorable your behavior is. Don't let them win by default!!!
