It can also be argued that women did have those traits/concepts. But then they devolved because the ones who were loyal (and did not take another mate when their partner died to animals or other men) died off because they no longer had a provider/protector. Or the whores simply outbred the loyal ones. But it is probably as simple as you explained and the mechanism of selection that I mentioned has had very little to no impact.

Hypothesis: Over thousands of years, extreme crazy has been slowly reduced in the gene pool of humans because men were able to see crazy eyes and avoid them that way.
