This is a good point. You know what you want. You understand, logically, the necessary things to get there. The inspiration and drive to actually do them might only come after you have put the effort into making yourself do things that feel unnatural for a while. Mark Manson has a good discussion on this in the subtle art of not giving a fuck. Action leads to inspiration leads to motivation, not inspiration leads to motivation leads to action. So, act now, feel good about acting later.

I lost 160 lbs. I went from being a big fat dude to a physically fit tall dude. Yes, it helped a lot. But the people you notice who were only ever polite to you after you lost the weight, the ones who were rude before and changed after, they messes with your mind a bit.

I am not sure I agree that you are entitled to goods/services just because there is a need, given resources are finite. It is hard to see how you can have a right to something that, theoretically, it is literally impossible to provide. For example, you can imagine a world in which there are so many people that we have outstripped the earth's capacity to provide calories and it is simply impossible to provide sufficient calories for life for every person on earth. It is difficult, to my mind, to …

I love Napoleon as an example of an effective human, so I am just going to expand on what you have said a little bit. I think he is absolutely a figure worth admiring and modelling yourself off of, but that requires we look at him on a more global scale. I realise that wasn't within the scope of what you were trying to do and I'm not critiquing your post. I think there's something important about Napoleon's story that you're missing. Desperation, resentment and arrogance. He wasn't just brilli…

Yea, there's a lot of creating orphans to punish the mother in this thread. Personally, I'm not into punishing the child because the mother's a fuckwit. Nor am I enthralled by the prospect of living in a society populated by those orphans once they grow up. There has to be a solution that acknowledges the child and society as legitimate stakeholders

Because they think YOU'RE cute in the way a puppy or a toddler is cute. The response you want is an overwhelmed wordless blush. Frankly, I only ever compliment a woman at the start of a date. A quick "you look stunning" and move on But that's me. I haven't yet calibrated to complimenting them the right way Your compliments should be reassuring for her, not supplicating to her

Sometimes I think girls do this stuff to reclaim some control. Like, they reveal that they like you a lot and then feel the need to put up some resistance immediately. Just don't react, it'll be fine. If it annoys you too much, date someone else

I was describing behaviour, not endorsing it

I think the best evidence I've ever had of this came from female friends. Some girls will honestly give a guy their number, even though they're not attracted to them, to reward approaching. Like in an "aw, he's really nice. He's not for me, but someone else will like him. I'll make sure he knows he's done a good job!" sort of a way. (This is in addition to, not instead of, girls who give their number so you'll leave them alone. There's all sorts out there) Also, so many women say things like "Wh…

Reading material off the top of my head, I actually probably can't. Youtube material, I really like Todd Valentine's stuff. Check out his free course WinnerGame as well. It's good for the anxiety, etc of approaching a stranger. I don't really think it's very "technique-y" which is a good thing, in my opinion. Staring at someone for 30 minutes is not a good way to start. Saying "I'm gay" is only a good option if you can non-verbally indicate you're clearly not and that you're fucking with them. It's to be playful and unexpected, not actually make them think you're gay. Also, ruining the tension by laying all your cards on the table isn't fun. They wouldn't have slept with you because you spent half an hour making them your whole focus while not doing anything for yourself and then half a night hoverin…

I found myself doing this and I came to the conclusion that I was bitching out of approaching the girls I really wanted. Your call, but I found including at least one girl I thought was totally out of my league helped me get over the idea that anyone was out of my league. Certainly no one is out of my league before the approach. That crazy hot girl you see could be a fucking rockstar about to do her Masters in international financial law that is the future governor of your state and whose boyfri…

Not unless your relatives are weird. It's almost strange to meet your girlfriend through not-Tinder, as far as I can tell from the current climate

One of my favourite interactions from my first few nights, which I remember because she was the girl that made me go "shit, I'm going to meet a lot of really interesting people doing this" started along the lines of "Hey, this orange top is weird, I love it". Girl was insanely interesting. Beautiful, doing her masters, daughter of Christian Iraqi refugees. Fucking nuts life. There's so much content about opening. Read a little of it, and just start talking. Teach your brain that it's not allowed…
