You don't need anything. As in, there's not some cosmic law preventing you from seeking romance if you don't have XYZ quality. With that out of the way: 1) You'll be better off taking pride in your appearance and using every opportunity to express your aesthetic instincts in your presentation. This is a key way of distinguishing yourself from other people and drawing attention to yourself. The specific form that this presentation takes depends entirely on your own tastes. 2) You'll benefit from …

I see. So 'up' is 'more powerful' and 'down' is 'less powerful'. Thank you. But 'powerful' in what sense? That's a very vague term. And it also has a lot of sociological assumptions baked into it that some would challenge. Niklas Luhmann would argue that society isn't arranged in a hierarchy, but rather into mutually structurally coupled differentiated function systems. And also 'criticising' isn't very clear either. If I laugh when a homeless person walks into a lamppost, is that 'punching down…

You're didn't really say what 'up' and 'down' mean, you just gave some examples. But examples only get you so far without an abstract definition to ground them. Maybe my autism is getting the best of me, or maybe my sociological outlook has been poisoned by reading Niklas Luhmann. I really don't know what 'punching up' and 'punching down' mean. I still don't really know what 'punching' means, honestly. It's probably my fault.

No, I mean literally, what do 'up' and 'down' mean in the metaphor?

I see. But how does one tell if it's 'up' or 'down' (are we talking about something objective or subjective)? And why does 'blaming for stuff' become 'punching'? There's a lot of metaphors floating about your comment that it's hard to get a real grip on the substance.

What is 'punching'? You've been using that word, but I'm not sure what the word actually means here.

Violence against men is far less than violence against women I'm pretty sure that's false, and men do in fact make up the majority of victims of assault and killing. ... And this is the part where you say "yeah, by other men!" Which is true, typically. But if that was the point you were trying to make, you should have phrased it as such.

Mate, you need to stop posting in this sub. Go for a walk, take up origami, read some classic poetry – I don't fucking know, just literally anything else. This habit ain't good for you.

'Who someone is' intrinsically consists of both mind and body. If you ignore one, you're not loving the whole person.

It's not about appraising looks or personality, as if the two could somehow be separated. Both looks and personality combine to form a whole individual person, they're both intrinsic parts of who a person is. And that whole person is what attracts. Reducing a person to their mind is just as shallow as reducing them to their body.

What do I have to do with redpill? Literally all I said is that your rhetorical strategy isn't helpful in the context of a post like OP's.

I don't need your permission to give you advice.

You really could have handled your conversation with OP better. What you're doing here is not a good rhetorical strategy for assuaging anxiety and grief.

We're not brains in jars; we exist in the world as embodied people. Have you ever been in love? It's not just an intellectual activity. It's sensual. You want to feel the other person's skin, see their smile, hear their laughter, smell their hair, etc. You love a person's character largely through how it manifests physically: the way they style themselves, the rhythms of how they speak, their tone of voice, the way they move. So yes, ignoring all of that stuff and just treating the person like a…

I have a 70/30 spit. 70 personality, physical 30. How on earth do you even quantify this?

Of course it matters. Reducing someone to their mind is just as shallow as reducing them to their body.

Failure to communicate on both ends I'd say. You didn't give her any idea in advance of when you'd be coming over – and she didn't ask. Nothing to beat yourself up over. Just make it a habit from now on to keep people aware of things like timing so no one's in the dark.

Did he say anything about signalling good fathership?

I'm not convinced Sapolsky said that at all.

Nationalism was a historical movement from the 19th century onwards that saw 'the nation' (ie. a people united by common culture) as the best foundation for a state, as opposed to feudal or imperial governance.

The idea behind it isn't bad, necessarily I would go a step further and say the foundational idea of evopsych is intuitively obvious to the point of being undeniable. Obviously evolutionary pressures shape psychical structures. Evolutionary pressures shaped everything else about life, why would the basic structures of the mind be any different? The problem comes with the specific claims that then sometimes are made regarding behaviours, which as you say, are impossible to test empirically. This …

I'm emotional but also quite rational, and I look for logic in everything Do you value rationality, or do you value the appearance of rationality. The thing about redpill folks is that they almost always like to present themselves as hyper-rational people who "see it how it is". But when you actually listen to them speak and unpack the logic they try to present, it becomes obvious that they're actually deeply emotional people driven by gut-reactions and psychodynamic defence-mechanisms. And, to …

You don't find God in a book. You find it out in the world, in the majesty of nature and the immanent beauty of small moments.

for men it's important to try to become higher in "status" to be successful with dating And yet in the OP you characterise 'status' in a very broad way to refer to a very broad range of things (charisma, intelligence, humour, etc). That broadness allows for individual authenticity, does it not? Every person has their own accessible way of signalling value and status. Don't think of it as 'being yourself'. Think of it as 'showing yourself'. Put the inside on the outside.

What he's saying seems quite measured and reasonable; I find it easy to believe. But in the context of redpill etc one is forced to ask: what's the upshot supposed to be for you and me as individual men? How is knowing this supposed to affect how we act? Always resist the urge to turn descriptive observations into normative claims.

You think men out perform women on basic adulting like working, cleaning their house, childcare, etc.? Did I say that?
/r/ExRedPill21/07/25 05:25 PM

And 80% of the women have those same qualities. They really don't.
/r/ExRedPill21/07/25 08:11 AM

If we’re going to make the case that 80/20 is in play with humans Neither OP nor the person you're responding to made that case. No one said anything about 80/20 until you brought it up.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
