The first paragraph? You mean the part where it says most victims DONT REPORT THE CRIME, not THEIR CLAIMS ARE DISMISSED. For example, the media frequently portray date rape complainants as “lying, vindictive shrews” and date rape defendants as “folk heroes— innocent boys tragically charged by vindictive women” The author immediately assumes the rapist is a man and the victim is a woman. one of the biggest problems female rape victims face is being dismissed by the police. When have you ever seen that? Ever. There are a lot of women that don't come forward after they are raped because of the psychological trauma but when has any woman ever been dismissed after going to the police? I'm sure these two guys wished what you claim were true because then they wouldn't have spent a quarter of their lives in prison for a crime they didn't commit.

If the person was sent to jail based on someone's testimony, what is the likelihood that said testimony would eventually be proved false by anyone but the accuser themselves? IMO it would be negligible; unless DNA evidence somehow exonerates them, it will (likely) just be circumstantial against the original testimony.

Keep explaining. That's all you can do. Situations like this, I would think a girl would have an easier time getting the point of personal space across. Really do keep it up though, communication is about the only means there is to combat this kind of behavior.

I totally agree but its still frustrating to me. I laughed just a bit at the clip and didn't mind it at all but I just can't help but think there would be an outrage if the genders were swapped. Just imagine advertisement in which a man asks you if you'd like to have your car fixed by women and is then followed by clips of women crashing cars and mindlessly swinging a hammer in a garage.

when media coverage of rape so often focuses on what a victim should have done differently to try harder not to get raped. I have never ONCE seen a reputable media outlet suggest a women should have done something different in order to not get rape. Unless this author is getting her news from 4chan, that is not how rape victims are portrayed in the media.

Do you not understand the concept of percentages? Yes a predominately white society would mean more white people getting pulled over, but that only means there could be a problem with sample size of non-whites group, nothing more.

The only statistic from that survey that seemed applicable stated that 1 in 3 women have experienced some kind of (physical) abuse compared to 1 in 4 men. Either I missed the part from which you are citing the 1 in 4 and 1 in 7 numbers or you assumed the mountains of data in the survey (it is quite an exhaustive survey) would hide the fact that the CDC's survey does not corroborate the numbers in the photo

I'm not sure they are equivalent, but when you hang someone their neck is broken and its a very quick death. That being said, its entirely possible when lynchings took place they 'strung the person up' instead of letting them drop down as they would when using a gallows.

I really would love to see the reactions if that logic was reversed. "Betty can't play football because she's really good so she'll take a spot away from a guy". Its unfathomable that this is even an issue; If the kid can't play the sport anywhere else but on that team THEN LET HIM FUCKING PLAY ON THAT TEAM!
