The other side of that. Young grand parents also mean they’re likely still working full time and they aren’t able to be full time child care. My parents were 45 and 49 when I had my daughter. They’re closer to retirement age now but still very much working full time.

I had my daughter at 21. I’d just finished my degree graduating 6 months pregnant. I’ve done it alone from the start with zero child support. Father is a blank line on her birth certificate. Here’s what I learned in that process for things why it can make smart personal and financial success to have kids young. Kids will cost as much as you have. If the best you can afford is a second hand crib with a new mattress, second hand clothes, a car seat and basic stroller and not getting every fancy th…

I have 2 bachelors degrees. I don’t expect a guy to have the same level of education. What I do expect is that they will make the same or more money than me. They need to have a good career they enjoy and that has growth potential. There’s some amazing guys who work trades and bring home bank. And there are some complete douches with a PhD.

I’m appreciating my mom who never introduced a boyfriend to us kids until she found the one so much more. The only boyfriend of my moms I ever woke up to in our house was my step dad after he moved in. Just gonna go hug my mom now.

I’m several months in, and dating is limited because of covid here and I don’t pay. He pays every single time. We get take out to my place he pays. He brings a bottle of wine. He grabs groceries if I’m cooking for him. He doesn’t expect me to pay at all. If we’re at the point we’re talking marriage and living together then I’m open to paying 50% of down payment of where we buy together and paying for 50% of wedding and household expenses. I will also expect him to do 50% of the chores agreed to …

Honestly almost any date. The current boyfriend wouldn’t dream of asking me to reach for my wallet on a date. I was looking at hotel suites contemplating booking one for a little r and r. And just a bright spot with the rest of the crappiness. He looked at a bunch of hotels picked the one he thought I’d like the best and booked it. Added on their upgrade package for breakfast and champagne. He’s like do you want to do a whole night up and we’ll get dressed up and I can set up a nice meal to get …

I look good for me, and it’s defined by what I prioritize. I wear my hair naturally curly for me. I wear minimal make up plenty of times I wear no makeup. I take care of my skin for me. I focus on yoga and living a healthy balanced lifestyle for me. If I put on a full face of make up and get dressed up it’s because I want to look good and I feel good like that. Is shoes in the house a common thing elsewhere? Where I live it’s the epitome of rudeness to wear your dirty muddy shoes in the house. Most trades people will take their shoes off when they get their or if they need to go in and out will wear booties over their boots or ask if they need to leave them on. And I’m in Canada.

I mean I do that for my best friend. I’m approving their profile and the context. Her picker is broken and chooses assholes all the time. She’s yet to choose one that isn’t. Yep my last relationship had a 15 year age gap. Lasted almost 5 years. Everything was he was right for his age etc. I always felt inferior and stupid. Everything involved me getting talked down to. I still don’t know why I stayed that long. And I’m so glad I’ve moved on and I’m dating someone who’s my age and o can identify with that and treats me like the queen I am.

Every single time when I see a profile picture with both husband and wife etc unless it was specifically changed for an anniversary or they just got married I assume one of them cheated and the other is insecure. Of the half dozen people I know with that situation. It’s been true. Small sample group but to me it’s like a dog marking its territory. Back off it’s mine is what it says to me.

I honestly completely and utterly hate Valentine’s Day and have refused to have anything to do with it since I was a teenager and I’m 36 now. I hate the entire concept and premise of the day and all the commercials crap that goes with it. There is not a single part of a man doing things for you on Valentine’s Day that says he loves you or you mean something to him. The guy I’m currently seeing. For this past Christmas. He’d asked for ideas for me and he’d go from there. So I said some new kitchen knives, a garlic press, some bath stuff, books or Tattoo gift cards. Or something along those lines. He got me some great quality knives. Next month it’ll be a year since my ex and I split after 4 1/2 years of promises and being the forever girlfriend. He left me holding $6k in unpaid rent and utilities, car payments and insurance. All in my name. I’m Slowly but surely digging my way out so I can start to tackle another piece of debt and then buy my own home. All my utilities are current now for the first time since then and my credit card is paid off. It feels so damn good.

If he claims to love me and be high value and doesn’t see the point in marriage. He’s not high value and he’s gone period. I’m not wasting time convincing someone they should commit to me. Ideally I prefer to find this out before I start investing my time and my emotions. But the words marriage is just a piece of paper or a legal contract or not worth it shows me exactly who and what he is and it’s not high value and it’s not going to make my life better or easier marrying that.

The goal of a prenup is to protect the assets that each party brings in to the relationships. People who are wealthy etc tend to have a lot of other conditions in theirs, that’s not the norm. They’re also only valid in most legal jurisdictions if both people have had legal representation before signing. If a guy plops one down in front of you and says sign this like any legal contract it’s in your best interests to review it carefully and get legal advice.

I wouldn’t get married without a prenup for myself period. I can earn my own I don’t need his. But he’s not touching a penny of my savings, pensions, retirement accounts and my daughters education savings. Umm, the first month the guy I’m seeing we’re dating was easily more than that he spent. He did two trips to see me in my city. 250km away so that’s a full tank of gas each trip ($80 per date) Date 1) We went for a walk with our dogs and grabbed coffees that he bought($15) , we stopped on the way and got dog treats from an all natural pet store ($20). We then had a take out dinner at my place that he got ($70) as well he brought a bottle of wine with him and flowers for me. ($30-$40) so $135-$14…

Honestly I wouldn’t even be happy with the pandora ring. How is a Pandora ring expensive? They’re about $100 here. That not expensive. They’re not high quality or a piece of jewelry designed to last. And they’re overpriced for what they are because of the brand. I wouldn’t buy myself a Pandora ring, let alone accept one from a man. If he only values me for $100, he doesn’t value me. I haven’t faked and I won’t. If you can’t give me an orgasm I’m not going to give you a false sense of ego about it. And frankly I’m aware that I don’t need much effort to orgasm. My mom was with me when I had my now 14 year old and she was my rock. But I got pregnant from a LVM. My personal opinion if you’re going to get pregnant from a LVM or NVM. Yeah you’ll probably want your mom there. You know she’s more reliable more there for you than anyone else. (Provided you have a healthy parent child relationship) If you’re married and having a child with a HVM why wouldn’t you want him there? You’ve chosen each other to be your one and only. The biggest thing that separates low value from high value is consistency. A low value man will put up the good guy front in the short term. High value it’s long term, they will consistently in the long term demonstrate who they are to you. There isn’t a quick fix to weed out a good imposter of a HVM who’s actually LVM other than time! My red flags: - anything to do with Snapchat or KiK etc if they can’t be bothered to ask for your number they’re likely hiding things from you. - do they have the…

Yeah if you’re in high school or university I think that’s cute. Too young to make a commitment beyond that. But the commitment with the promise ring is cute at that age. I don’t know what they are now, but when I was that age promise rings were an actual nice ring. Normally something gold and dainty with a tiny diamond chip or something not a fake piece of jewelry. Yep exactly. I do all this is a single mom and then some. My standards for a man in my life are quite a bit higher than that. This is just the bare minimum bar for a single dad to meet for me to even consider talking to him to see if he meets the rest of my standards.

Yep the default here is 50:50 custody anything outside of that is because one of the parents wasn’t capable of it or the child was too young for full 50:50. If they’re too lazy to go to court and get appropriate custody with an appropriate home for their children that’s one them.

My mom is an absolute rock star. She raised three kids as a single mom. Left my abusive dad! And was never anything but a powerful role model for me. She had always said she would never want to have something from a man that he could turn around and say you wouldn’t have that if it wasn’t for me.

Yep having done this at 21. The single biggest reason I’m as successful as I am is because my mom is a rock star. Always in my corner always supporting me. I’m a single mom and I refuse to date a single dad unless they meet very very specific criteria. The most unappreciated I’ve ever felt was my last relationship. Where Christmas Eve he realized every damn year there was nothing under the tree from him to me. I’m like this, I was raised if you want something you go for it. I honestly still don’t ask for what I want or need. However I have found with a good man, I don’t need to. They can look and use their perception and see what I need and want. I shouldn’t have to ask them to do something for me. I shouldn’t have to ask them to fulfill my needs. My best friend as much as I love her and I’m Slowly building a back bone in there. Has a lot of pick me tendencies. The majority stems from a 10 year abusive marriage. Her asshole meter is broken by her ex and normal asshole stuff from LVM doesn’t even register for her. She’s bad at being single and alone. And I think she needs to heal and work on her self and her self esteem before she looks for a relationship. But that largely falls on deaf ears. What I can do is slowly build her up and build …

In the beginning when Amber first put all her accusations out there, the response was almost identical. Johnny Depp was very very cancelled. The biggest issue with most of the amber heard stuff and why the backlash against her was so harsh. Was because he had a bunch of documentation that she was the one who was like that. There’s nothing in it for her at all, I completely get why she won’t have it with him until he figures his shit out. And this is only half the story and written to make him sound as good as possible. I do feel love languages are valid. But I think so many people miss the point of them. The point of a love language is to understand how your partner feels loved most and to demonstrate that for them. Not to say oh no I don’t do that because it’s not my love language. My love language is acts of service, it means way more to me than any gift ever could. It is important to me, when I’ve dated men who don’t understand that, they don’t act on what my love language is because I’m supposed to adapt t…

I’d add Mr Rogers to the list.

Completely true. You want someone who puts in the time, cost and effort to look good. You better be bringing your a game and never complain about any of my maintenance or how long I take.

I’m 5’11 1/2 in bare feet. There’s a whole Bunch of 6’ dudes out there who are barely 5’9 but like to tell me I must be taller because there’re definitely 6’. Lmao
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/11/20 09:23 PM

Yep, I also got the one where she looks a hot mess and needs a makeover but he looks perfect. I’m like yeah that’s the complete opposite of how that works.

Yeah unless you’re waiting for a specific venue or if you have a date you want to get married on a specific that’s significant to you you’re planning around, or you’re financially planning and budgeting for a wedding beyond your Normal financial means. There is zero reason beyond those to have an engagement longer than tops 18 months. Ideally 6-9 months.

Nope if he’s torn between two shirts looking online I’ll happily tell him which one I think will suit better. But I’m not your personal stylist, it’s not my job to upgrade you. Other come with a full package or don’t waste my time.

The only thing holding me back from a tubal as I’m definitely done having children is that I really love not having a period with the mirena. I so don’t want to go back to having one. My doc has said it’s safe for me to get a fresh one every 5 years until I hit menopause.

Yeah I loved it when I found out. He showed up with my favourite wine the first time he spent the weekend and I was like aww you remembered. He told me how he keep track of things about me. I found it very sweet and smart that he knows this is a failing of his and found a way to make sure he would remember.

I have a hormonal IUD(Mirena) it’s good for 5 years I’m on my second one. I love it, for me at least I don’t have a period on it and haven’t in years. It’s highly effective. We do use condoms as well as my conditions to ditching condoms is long term exclusive and we each have a clean STI test. I quite like my IUD, and hormone wise I’m far more stable than when I was on the pill. However it’s definitely a personal choice.

I voice it buy saying thank you and acknowledging exactly what I like about what they’ve done. For example we eat at mine a lot and o cook because I love it. I’m high risk and restaurants etc are a hot spot here. I do not wash a dish after I cook. He sees that my kitchen is always spotless so when he does dishes he doesn’t just do dishes. He does dishes, checks there aren’t any other dishes hiding in the living room. Wipes down the table, wipes down the stove and counters and gives the floor a q…

Or hey I’m a woman with a bomb ass career in tech. I intentionally chose to raise my daughter alone so my nvm ex couldn’t mess up her life. I’ve never seen a dime of child support, never even asked for it. Worked my butt off to get my second degree while working 3 jobs and being a mom. Yes I bring absolutely nothing to the table at all. Lmao
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/11/20 02:16 PM

Yeah I’m a nerd and it’s definitely a struggle. I naturally gravitate to men who share my interests however so many are LVM.

Same found someone complaining about being banned here by participating in entitled bitch. I was like well I get it half the crap on Entitled bitch is just butthurt men upset by standards. So I came to look.

Why would someone happily married still be here is what she said.

I would say the more experienced women who have found a community here that they like and feels help them continuously level up and improve themselves and their relationship. FDS isn’t about using a strategy to get a man to marry you and then it’s game over. FDS is about continuously looking at yourself and your situation for how you can improve and become a Queen as well as continuously always vetting.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/11/20 05:45 PM

I do right now, I’m 5 months in so very much still vetting as well. But so far so good. I would say we’re more in the stages of him consistently and constantly displaying high value behaviour and traits rather than being a high value man completely, as 5 months I feel is still very much in the honeymoon rose tinted glasses phase.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/11/20 03:58 PM

I’d say that’s a pretty good list of red flags.

Mamas boys do not change. Period. I will never again date a mamas boy. I expect them to treat their mom with love and respect provided she isn’t a horrible person. But if you haven’t cut the apron strings I’m simply not interested. It’s easier to dump a mamas boy then divorce one, and both are easier than trying to change one.

It’s why I won’t put out there what I’m looking for. I ask what they’re looking for. If they ask I always say I’m open to possibilities. It leaves the door open for them to show me what they want. If they’re lvm they will pretty quickly jump to a park date or Netflix and chill. If they’re a LVM pretending to be a HVM they will make it look like they’re interested in actually dating and getting to know me but get annoyed an frustrated when I want to vet them and hold off on sex. If they’re actual…

My current partner is amazing. He’s also the least experienced guy I’ve been with. He point blank said he didn’t have experience so he did a lot of reading and searching and trying to make sure he understood what was good advice and what was just porn fantasy. He makes sure I always have a couple at least before I touch him and he pays a lot of attention to how my body reacts to what he does so he can figure out what works for me and what doesn’t. Every single time we have sex it gets better and…

The man I’m currently seeing I met through match.com. And so far high value in every way. I tried the free apps. But it was just full of NVM and LVM. I’m not into hooking up etc and wanted to meet someone I could have a genuine connection with. I’m still vetting and still following FDS guidelines and still leveling myself up. But so far it’s been good. With Match they can’t even message you if they don’t pay. So the cheap men who just want to hump and dump avoid paying for it. I found having to …

As another female in tech, I feel this on such a deep level. I’m very glad my company looks at who is overall the best fit rather than hire based on gender and we’re small still in start up mindset. But oh man I just want to be viewed as a peer not as a woman and I want that to be the universal truth for every woman in tech!

I’m about to turn 36, and my skin quality etc looks a lot like Anne Hathaway’s. I don’t have wrinkles etc yet and I’ve had nothing done other than taking good care of my skin. Some women are just genetically blessed. My grandma is in her 80s and looks 60. My mom is 60 and passes for her 40s easily. We do also all take care of ourselves and always have.

Yes but in this article it’s not even that they’re both republican. Several of these women are Democrats. How do you not know your husbands political leanings and views on women and feminists etc before you marry them?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/10/20 08:48 PM

I would say a boyfriend yes they might lie, but someone you’re marrying how do you not know all aspects of who they are how they react to situations the views they espouse? The flags are all there to see if you’re looking.

I’m trying to figure out how you don’t know your partners political stance?

At 76, she’s far more likely to prioritize a man and his needs above her own. It’s likely been ingrained in her since birth. That’s the epitome of the generation that’s were raised to be housewife’s and husbands word is law.

Not to mention that if you want a relationship like this, it’s should be about consent not manipulation. Seeing this is just as bad as when we see men do this.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/10/20 08:12 PM

Wow, the man I’m currently seeing drives 3 hours one way each weekend to see me as we live in different cities. He never complains about the drive the distance or the inconvenience. He’s also actively looking for a position here as he wants to relocate to my city. Dude complaining about 10 minutes really lmao, way better without him.

It’s also likely a teenager/high school or college age young lady. That’s pretty gross he’s perving on that.

Why are you doing or investing anything even emotionally into someone else’s property? There is no effort involved in this on his part, other than using you for your good eye etc. This is a full on wife privilege when your name is going on that title next to his. Otherwise all you’re helping him do for free is improve his asset.

I lived this for almost 5 years. I feel her pain hadn’t bought together and my daughter was just mine. But I knew deep down I wanted marriage and there was always a reason and an excuse. I want a simple elopement in a national park with my daughter there and a nice meal after. Weddings to me are a big party and incredibly expensive so spending lots of money on one wouldn’t be my priority. There was always a reason and excuse. I want an antique or antique style ring. Max cost $3k even if you go c…

Having done it, absolutely zero regrets! There are times it’s sucks. But at least you know you’re doing it alone no illusion of a man being involved or helping.

I couldn’t bring myself to have an abortion when I got Pregnant from a LVM. I already loved her. But I worked hard and left the country for my home country before I gave birth to have zero legal ties. Zero regrets, I’m so glad I didn’t involve him. She doesn’t deserve a life time of some useless LVM letting her down.

So are you, it has it hard moments. But for the most part, I look around at the relationships I know where the man is LVM, and I see how much my friends struggle and I’m thankful to know at least I knew I was doing it alone. I didn’t have the false illusion that I had a husband or boyfriend who was going to parent and share the load with me.

People say oh well I only have to deal with my kids other parent until they’re 18, which is wrong you’re dealing with them for the rest of your kids life. Can you deal with that person for the rest of their life? If you can’t protect yourself in every way possible and if you’re pregnant and want to do it alone get as far away as possible and put them nowhere near that birth certificate unless you’re legally required by a court of law. Because if they’re an LVM, they don’t want to parent they don…

The biggest factor for me isn’t the mental illness it’s that you’re tied to that person forever. I’m a single mom to a 14 year old. I knew from the start he didn’t want to be a father and he’d be useless and drag both of us down. But I loved her from the second I knew I was pregnant. I couldn’t abort, I was pretty sure it would break me. I was lucky I was studying in the UK and my mom is in Canada. My mom and step dad invited me to move back home to get support and get myself set up properly. So…

It’s something’s I’ve refused to let anyone say to my daughter. My step dad asked why, and I explained it to him. Why is it cute when they’re little but abusive when they’re big and it encourages girls and women to accept bad behaviour from men because he likes you. He went you know, I never thought about it that way. It’s just something we always said. I’ve never heard him since day those words and correct others when they say it.

This stood out to me as well. Yep you know you’re own worth. So you’re willing to go pick me in the comments of an article to lower her worth?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/10/20 06:27 PM
50

To me it would really depend on what her mess up was. If she’s a HVW and he’s a HVM. If she’s done something against his boundaries and blatantly low value why would he forgive it and try to move on. If both are high value they’re not tolerating low value behaviour. If it’s something a HVW wouldn’t forgive in a man why would the opposite be true. It would also depend on how the mistake was found out and if she accepted proper accountability and have a genuine sincere apology.

Trades here take 4 years of school mixed with being an apprentice and learning. They make very good money if they’re hardworking. It’s easy to top into 6 figures with barely touching overtime here if they’re hardworking. If there’s a HVM who does trades and treats me like the queen I am I’m good with it.

He asked me to walk around the book store with him. I did actually do it, I was 23 and figured he must get that I love books we could grab a coffee there and chat about our mutual love of books. I bought myself two titles I’d been looking for and a latte for myself. He looked at the car magazines called it overpriced and then Asked if I wanted to go to his place to hang out it was way too stuffy here. I bailed at that point. Like nope I drove myself here I’ll drive myself home.

If you check her comments, one of hers is that she refuses to be a bangmaid. I thinks she’s 3/4 of the way there really to FDS. Just moving in with a man after 7 months that’s way too soon.

My list is pretty straight forward for the core basics. 1) Must have a solid career and make at minimum as much money as me, with growth potential. Mine is solid and I don’t want to date down and I’m not paying for him to live my lifestyle. 2) Must be as tall as me. I’m 5’11, I’ve dated men shorter than me and I’ve never not had their insecurity and ego get in the way. 3) No young kids, or kids from multiple women and must not want more kids. I have a teenager, I’m not starting over with someone…
