Because seeing older man/younger woman couples is not unusual, whereas seeing the opposite is EXTREMELY rare. It’s a basic fact of life.

That was a misdirection. She wouldn’t care if you flirted with everyone if you were hot enough. Simple as that.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 12:34 PM

Bollocks. A child pestering for candy is not a threat.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 10:23 AM

I have never in my life known a woman to like when men show emotions. Never. I have seen loads of women complain that their men do not show emotions. These look like the same thing, BUT THEY ARE NOT. Women saying they want something does not mean they ACTUALLY want it.

“I don’t need no man” is something young women say because they think it sounds cool. Talk to actual, grown up woman…esp those that are married (i.e. SUCCESSFUL). They’ll all tell you that they couldn’t imagine life without their man. Men and women need each other. Period. It is the foundation of our species.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 08:20 AM

Then that thing (threat) is the problem, not the pestering. Pestering is just words.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 08:13 AM

“Pestering” is bad, but it is not “duress”. There is absolutely nothing stopping you from walking away (literally or metaphorically).
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 07:58 AM

As usual, this is stupidly reductive. What is “asking”? A kiss? A gentle touch? A slightly longer than normal hug? A direct proposition?

Looks fade, but doesn’t that make looks even MORE important when young? If you only have a limited time to appreciate someone beautiful, then that time and that beauty is even more valuable.

Yep. And the looks threshold is high.

Developed societies are not much more urbanised than they were 25 years ago, but the dating Alabama’s have fundamentally shifted. If it is mono-causal, that cause is mobile internet.

By this definition pretty much every marriage is 50/50, even SAMHs are “50/50” since they earn no money and put in 50% of what they earn (nothing) into the family finances.

“ First most people practicing 50/50 understand you can’t split it exactly down the middle if there is an income disparity.” This sounds like a really convoluted way of saying: women rely financially on their men. “Oh, babe, we’re 50/50! Even though you pay for everything….but you make more! We are EQUAL PARTNERS, so I get an equal say in everything despite not providing equal value!” Very typical for the present day.

….you're acting like NO man thinks like I do (I can assure you, that all, or nearly all, men think exactly as I’ve described).

Utterly pointless navel gazing. There is no such thing as a society in which men are just valued for existing. Such a society has never, and will never, exist.

Again, none of that is how men work. You’re treating him as if he’s a woman. For men. love or attraction are not binary things, on or off. You’re either in the ‘yes’ column, or the ‘no’ column. Unless you become horribly unattractive in some way you’re extremely unlikely to be moved from the ‘yes’ to the ‘no’. Ever.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:29 AM

“ We’re all different, just like all men are different Not really. In my experience most people are pretty similar, when you get down to it. The expressions of those core drives might differ, but they aren’t fundamentally all that different.

“Super useful” is a stretch. Even women’s relationship advice is basically boiling down to “Do everything for me, while making me feel like you’re in charge”. Typical immature, have-your-cake-and-eat-if nonsense.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:05 AM

This is pure nonsense. Dating apps are infinitely easier. In real life you meet women randomly, have to navigate from whatever context you met into something romantic, and even if that works you then have to navigate all the people around you. It’s exhausting. On apps you KNOW you’re both there for a date. It’s the only reason you connected. It makes everything so much easier, clearer, and more direct.

“ Because they have no honor, self-respect, or respect for others” Ah, yes. The holy trinity of what women find attractive: honour, respect, and….respect? Let’s face it: the more successful a man is, the more entitled he becomes, and the more likely he is to push things too far and not notice the reticence of the woman. As ever, the women here are firmly committed to the apex fallacy, even when discussing their villains.

I’ll be honest, I think the consent thing has been wildly blown out of proportion. The men who might listen never needed the scolding to being with. The men who won’t listen never cared about consent in the first place. This is right up there with teaching people not to steal. It’s a ludicrous proposition borne of a complete disconnect with reality.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 01:33 PM

"the woman could not be ugly but since the guy know her he might not want a relationship with her and it could get messy if they " WOMEN think like this....men do not. For a man adding sex to a relationship they already enjoy is a pure positive. There are literally zero downsides.

The thing about male hobbies is that they can be expensive, but they store value rather than destroy it (unlike female hobbies). Sure, your husband has 17 guitars, but he could survive happily with 2-3 and sell the rest for a windfall, if needed. You can’t do that with “travel” or shoes (which tend to plummet in value, if they retain any at all).
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 09:34 AM

Female breadwinner marriages are overwhelmingly among the very poor (the woman is the breadwinner because the man is incapable of earning money), and “egalitarian” marriages, while much more common, are defined so loosely as to be meaningless. In my last serious relationship anyone would say we were “egalitarian” (similar age, same profession, etc), even though I made maybe 60% more each year (and that 60% basically decided the quality of our lives).
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 09:31 AM

This can happen, but it is pretty rare. A woman has to be pretty unattractive (bottom 15%) for a single man to reject her outright like that…..doubly so if they already enjoy each other’s company.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 09:17 AM

As ever, don’t listen to what they say, watch what they do. “Just be friends first” NEVER works. Women say it because it sounds nice (makes them look virtuous), and they can use it as an insult against men who struggle (oh, you’re just doing it wrong, and/or you’re immoral because you try to date women). In my experience, you either start dating right away, all at once, or never. Absolutely no middle ground, in my experience.

The house, food, clothing, any luxuries, and the freedom to spend their life with their kids rather than working some awful job represents a pretty substantial pay for what is ultimately menial work.

Those calculators are sort of bullshit though. They take the population as a whole, which is it how humans actually experience life. They’re meaningless for people living in a given community.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 08:13 AM

Take any feminist statement and swap the word “woman” for “white” and “man” for “black”. You’ll see instantly that you basically have a supremacist movement on your hands. No less, no more.

You’re talking pure, ideological nonsense. Just parroting the same 2020s talking points. Gender roles might change (slightly) from one society to another, but the broad trends are universal and ancient. This is a ludicrous response, and you know it. Where did I say "all"? Where? Do you believe that women, simply by virtue of being women, are physically incapable of ever making a mistake?

"I just think we should abolish the concept of femininity and masculinity." I think humans should just sprout wings and fly rather than drive, to save the environment! Wanting something impossible is a waste of time....
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 05:28 PM

This is nonsense. I spend a fair bit of time around young men (18-22). They are scarcely different from the young men of 10-20 years ago. A little less drinking, sure, and somewhat more into fitness, but overall very similar. Women are the ones who changed. The ‘ick’ did not exist ten years ago. ‘666’ did not exist 20 years ago. This is simply not a male problem, however you try to twist it.

The gentle reinstitution of social pressure to marry and multiply. This pressure was attacked by feminists as “keeping women down”, when it reality it was keeping all of society afloat. Small cultural tweaks would have pretty big impacts, I suspect. Combine that with extensive fat shaming (both to increase people’s attractiveness and fertility) and the problems would probably solve themselves.

Make an argument, not insinuation. I simply do not know what you’re talking about. And yes, I do think it comes down to indecision, or just poor decision-making in general. I’ve literally seen it with my own eyes, dozens of times.

….because we understand basic maths? At present course South Korea will halve its population before I die. That is self-genocide on an unprecedented scale. Would you actually contend than men have suddenly, in the past 20 years, become vastly less attractive than men of every other generation that has ever lived? Maybe that is your contention, but it seems pretty radical, if so.

“ The thing a lot of people will say is that there's supposed to be some kind of premeditated discussion of what a relationship is supposed to be before you fall into that trap.” This is pretty new and VERY culturally specific (in the West it’s pretty much just Americans who date like this). In Europe if you’re obviously dating….then you’re dating. No need for a conversation.

In my experience, most expectations about having sex and forming a relationship are pretty reasonable. Sadly, there are a lot of self-absorbed people out there who have no problem using the people around them for their own gain. Cut those people out of the market, and everything would get a lot better, pretty quick.

Egalitarian has nothing to do with gender roles, though. You’re conflating things. Also, humans tried matriarchy a few times. The societies all failed pretty miserably. For one reason or another it just doesn’t work.

I do think I know, yes. The internet has utterly broken women’s brains (and men’s, albeit to a lesser extent). Women’s sexual selection has always been contextual, rather than concrete. When they lose the ability to accurately assess the context (due to online intrasexual competition, posturing, and endless online male attention), a good number fail to make any decisions and wind up unmarried and not reproducing. This has never happened before in the history of our species (or any species, for t…

For the millionth time…. An individual making decisions is great, whatever those decisions tend to be. An entire culture shift, unprecedented in human history, in which women en masse decide that the survival of their culture isn’t worth having to settle down with men who are demonstrably on their level (or even a little above) is just disastrous. What we’re experiencing is a sort of mass hysteria, not individuals making rational choices that will make them happy. Thankfully this is likely just …

Nope. The only factor is women opting out of being mothers. Literally the only problem. Same with the ‘dating crisis’. Eventually women will wake up and return to sanity, but this generation is probably lost and will not be able to self-correct in time.

No one has ever threatened trans people’s ability to “exist in public”. This is just not a thing. A segment of radical trans activists pushed to totally overhaul society during the chaos of COVID and all the rest of it. They failed, because most people cannot live in that sort of unreality. So, trans people now mostly live in the 2018/2019 world; going about their business as normal and getting on with it. This is, realistically, as good as anyone can realistically hope for.

CONSCRIPTION, not "the draft"...."the draft" is American slang, not an actual term for anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 06:04 PM

Why do women here always make the exact same logical mistake? Taking things down to single individual completely misses the point. Imagine you’re running a small city and one person gets drunk, passes out, and commits in the street. It’s awkward, but not a massive problem, and can be cleaned up easily. Now imagine fully 5-10% of the people in your city do that. Now you have absolute carnage. You need to look at things from a societal level.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 08:32 AM

OP poisoning the well from the off by saying “preferences” rather than “standards”. Anyway, you can have any standards you want, so long as you can actually fill them. The reality is that a good chunk of women have standards they cannot reasonably fill, and this skews the entire dating market in unhealthy ways.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 08:29 AM

Also, don’t forget that when woman lost off their complaints they NEVER talk about any of the things their man does that they don’t (and you know such things exist, whatever they are). Honestly, I think it’s mostly just political posturing. I have never witnessed one of these super unbalanced relationships in real life, and I have never heard a moderate or conservative woman complain….it is exclusively VERY left wing women bringing this up. It’s one giant LARP. Nothing more.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 08:22 AM

You can’t just flip reality and call it an argument. I have NEVER known a long term single guy with standards that are too high (i.e. constantly rejecting women who are coming on to him and roughly of his level). I have literally never seen this before in my life. I know a dozen women RIGHT NOW that are in this exact scenario. They are asked out regularly and reject everyone because they aren’t good enough. Occasionally take a spin on the carousel with a Chad, and then go back to their orbiters …

Men just want a woman who is nice to them. That’s not “submission”, it’s just common decency. If that woman happens to be from a different culture, why does that matter? Personally, I’ve dated women from all over the world….every inhabited continent on Earth (except Australia), and women (like men) and FAR more alike than different, all across the world. I know a lot of older people. I don’t know any that feel “trapped” in their marriage. Every single one saw it as the single greatest blessing in their lives. This idea that people in the past were all miserable is just weird feminist revisionism. On a simple psychological basis you would expect (and you in fact find) that people were generally happier in the past, if only because they suffered less choice paralysis in every aspect of life.

You’re partially right, women are the drivers of this, but not because men are suddenly worse. Men are literally better now than they’ve ever been: in better shape; more egalitarian; more pro-social and considerate. The ideology comes second. It’s a symptom. Dating is screwed because of the effects of the internet on culture, full stop. I have no idea what discipline those authors are even trying to write in, but the article is of abysmal quality. The methodology is awful, picking a bunch of random shipwrecks for a bloody Almanac, and they do basically none of the real work one would expect of a study addressing the issue. The whole article could have been done and dusted inside of a week. Maybe even less! It’s a total joke.

Men absolutely sell their bodies…just not for sex. Mining, oil work, war, the trades in general….lots of men cutting their lives short to make a buck.

All very easy for you to say, having never had to pursue anyone. If a woman seems even vaguely interested a man usually has to pursue for lack of better options.

A lot of this depends on class and location. For professionals in a major city 30s are generally better for men (in my experience).

Getting a woman, singular, to lower her standards is probably not great, and unlikely to lead to a solid relationship. True. If women in general returned to standards as they were just 20 years ago EVERYONE would be a lot happier (women included).

This is totally immaterial. I’ve dated in my circle, outside of if, online, offline….I cannot think of any continuities between any method. Each relationship or date was totally unique.

How can you come here and just straight up lie like this?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 11:23 PM

Men are more visual, but the bar is also pretty low, hence less shallow over all. Plus, men want what they want because they want it. A hot girl is hot regardless of context. Women want what they want purely in comparison to others…meaning today’s good pick could be tomorrow”s trash because the context and competition changed. This is also more shallow than anything men do.

So rejoining the EU would be regressive?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 09:52 AM

The observation, not ideology, that men and women tend to have distinct roles is utterly universal across time and space. There is no society that has ever existed that did not have clearly defined social roles for people based on age and sex (even if those roles are more or less flexible based on circumstance). I’m sure believe EVERYTHING is political, but this is only true if you warp the meaning of the word beyond all meaning and value.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 05:44 AM

“ Gender - in particular gender roles and what is or constricts gender - is inherently political.” Nonsense. It is SOCIAL, not political. A small society with no formal politics (either in form or ideology) would still have gender roles.

Whenever you see the word “political” like this your know you’re going to get an America-brained screed….. I’ve been more successful with women than I’ve had any right to, and I have never once pulled a woman in a bar (and in my whole life have only been to one club, for a total of about 20 minutes). If you’re a low-IQ normie then bars and the like might be a good option. They don’t work for everyone.

There really aren’t a billion reasons though. Economics plays ZERO role in birthrates. Zero. The highest birthrates are clustered around the lowest incomes (both within a country, and internationally). The one and only constant is women refusing to settle down and have a family. EDIT: worth noting that the US has better birthrates than anywhere in Europe , where there are more pro-family policies. Policy is irrelevant. All that matters is culture, and modern culture is utterly borked.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/26 01:38 PM

That’s a huge IF (and one I have NEVER seen in real life), whereas I’ve seen countless women work part-time or super relaxed jobs while their husbands work in high-stress, long-hours jobs to keep the family afloat.

If women are "doing more in the relationship" they are usually either: A) Not fairly evaluating the man's input (this is the most common thing I see...esp. discounting a man's earnings) or B) Dating a man way out of their league that knows they don't have to pull their own weight Basically, I think women are totally full of it on this. Men have NEVER been more involved and egalitarian, and suddenly now it's not enough? I call BS.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/26 12:27 PM

“ I feel like the biggest impact on certain dudes not getting dates is women determining their life is genuinely better without a romantic partner.” I guarantee you that the number of women who truly feel this way is VANISHINGLY small. History does not make predictive models. Ever. That is simply not what we do. We try to explain phenomena based on fragmentary evidence. That’s really it. A slim woman will be desired by far more men than she could ever possibly entertain. This is irrespective of any other trait she may, or may not, have. Every woman can be, and should be, slim. It is relatively easy to maintain (although possibly difficult to achieve once someone has become fat…losing weight isn’t easy). The closest equivalent would be a tall man, although it is not 1:1. Height is genetically predetermined, and no amount of effort will make a short man taller.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/26 06:42 AM

Median age of a Ukrainian soldier is 43. The fact is that combat today is just not very physical. You almost never see the enemy, only specialised assault troops do. Read it more closely. No hard numbers are given. So, if on white mother died in 2021 and two in 2022....that's a 100% increase (I know the figures are not that low, but you get the idea). We also get no sense of how much the YoY figure normally changes. What is the normal range? The citations are vague and do not do anywhere if you try to follow them. This is only true if you define assault VERY broadly. When walking down the street once at university some women passed by me and one grabbed my ass. I would never put myself in the same category as rape victims, it would be utterly shameful to even suggest it….and yet that’s exactly what is happening in your “every 3rd or 4th woman” statistic…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/26 04:56 PM

Fundamentally this comes down to incentives. Women have absolutely no incentive to accept that their risk is way lower than it is usually portrayed, or that they are treated pretty equally in society, all things considered. Even if they know this is true intellectually the incentive is to act like you don’t to try to gain yet more concessions. You can always predict an outcome by Simon following the incentives.

It depends on what you mean by “same range”. That’s the slippery part. My sister is a teacher and her husband is in IT. They’re both “educated professionals”, but he makes about 4x what she does. I bet you’d put them in the “same range”….

/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/26 07:53 AM

Don’t get focused on the numbers. I just looked it up, but the median house price to income ratio for that part of California is under 7:1. That’s super affordable in this day and age. “ most marriages happen between people in the same tax bracket.” In the U.K. we only have two real tax brackets, so obviously almost everyone marries someone in their bracket. Realistically, the framing, as ever, is disingenuous. It’s like saying a doctor marrying a nurse is basically marrying an equal since they’re both in the medical field. I would argue that beliefs and ideas have only changed a bit, and most of the changes have been superficial/cosmetic. The exact religion may change, but religion (in various forms) is still here. Same thing with political power, wealth, and reproductive success. The exact insider/outsider boundary shifts a bit this way or that (race, religion, immigration status), but the broad contours would be understandable to pretty much any Homonin. Etc etc

The longest jail sentence for a simple suffragette was a couple months, and that was highly unusual. AFAIK it had ZERO impact on her social standing or survivability. Not caring about how males feel literally predates the invention of language. Putting this in American political terms is just absurd, and vastly underestimated how deep and real and evolutionarily successful social realities are.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/26 02:55 AM

So, “patriarchy” either describes base reality (which is impossible to fight against), or it describes a voodoo conspiracy to maintain male power (which is absurd). Either way, it basically describes nothing, and it therefore pointless.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/26 02:52 AM

If you are in the woods and need to start a fire crying about it is literally not helpful. The only thing that is helpful is gathering wood and making the fire. Anything outside of that is a waste in that particular moment. That is not “patriarchy” and no one “teaches” men that, it is just basic reality.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/26 02:51 AM

There is no human society that has ever, or will ever, exist in which male weakness and crying is even tolerated, let alone praised or supported. You can call it whatever you like, but when it has been reality since before our species even existed it is probably best to get used to it.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/26 02:48 AM

This narrative is silly. A woman knows that 99% of men she meets want to sleep with her. Believing that her guy friend doesn’t, or that it somehow diminishes the friendship, is pretty indefensible.

Nope. Acting disinterested isn’t really about what she will think. It is mostly a tactic to avoid the man coming off as TOO interested, which is basically the death knell for any early courtship. Multi-dating basically does the same thing. It stops the man from over-investing too early (something many men are prone to doing), thus preventing the man from shooting himself in the foot. /r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 08:11 AM

It’s just the 80/20 rule in action. Women only go for the top men > those men have significant optionality > women who are shooting out of their league get cycled through for sex and then discarded. This process leaves most women riding the carousel chasing Chad, while leaving most men left out entirely.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 07:58 AM

Yeah, I nearly put Central, but it really depends. Poland is on the border. Poznan? Central! Warsaw? Sorry....but that's gotta be Eastern. Poles are Slavs....some of the westernmost Slavs, sure....but still Slavs, hence "mostly East".

Statistically speaking, however, they’re right. A good, honest person should have a near-100% chance of finding a relationship, sooner or later. Nah. The change is entirely due to technology. Social media has had a detrimental effect on everyone, but it has been particularly bad for women. In part, this is because women are naturally more social to begin with (and so more easily influenced by comparison with digital others). Women were also more severely affected because the grip of social media was only perceived belatedly. ….even if other people really are the blame? How is someone desirous of something more entitled than people who have the thing? Women only massively outnumber men on dating apps in America. This is not a global problem. Why is this the case? Probably because Americans are super atomised (a result of car culture) and so more men are driven to the convenience of trying to date off their phone from the comfort of their home. Women therefore are flooded with attention, in real life and online, and are therefore able to get off apps easier, leading to a larger stagnation of men. Just a theory.

/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/26 05:22 AM

Men also sign up for clinical trials at VASTLY higher rates than women. If women want to be better represented, particularly in drug studies, they need to volunteer to take experimental drugs. Female patterns of risk-taking alone suggest that this is an unsolvable problem.

“ When surveyed women rank financial and career security much higher on the list than marriage and children, especially for women who are left leaning which is the majority of young women today.” Young women do, sure. How will they feel at 65 when they’re alone and childless? Probably less sanguine…. You cannot just turn off millions of years of evolution in a single generation. This is going to be catastrophic (as the widespread use of SSRIs by women over 40 already indicates).

No, but in a population of roughly 50/50 men and women a man who is not a criminal or an abuser should be all but guaranteed a wife, just through sheer mathematics. Of course, we know that is not how things work….women prefer being “excited” over being “rational” and “safe”.

Food deserts don’t really exist, outside of VERY rural areas with absolutely tiny populations. They’re basically a non-factor. In cities the definition of a “food desert” is so ridiculous that MOST people live in one (i.e. it’s meaningless). I’ve pretty much always lived in a food desert (over one mile away from a major grocery store). That’s no excuse for a bad diet…..ESPECIALLY in a world where grocery delivery is so easily available.

The U.K. Andrew Tate thing was pure, invented moral panic. Teenage boys being edgy was treated as a grand moral crusade by humourless, bored middle aged Guardian readers. It was never a real phenomenon…..same as teenaged Satanic cults weren’t a thing in the 90’s.

Also worth remembering that Augustus was a bit like a socially conservative politician today: he choose to make very public, performative acts of conservatism to bind Rome together and smooth over the transition from the republic to an empire (hiding a radical transformation in the guise of conservative tradition). The above business about promoting marriage is a CLASSIC tactic of the genre, still used by politicians today.

No one had even heard of “love bombing” a decade ago, let alone 50 years ago, but women have ALWAYS disdained insecure, needy men. It’s the apparent weakness that turns women off, not women’s deep knowledge of modern “woo” therapy-speak.

A man who is “taught self-love” as a child will never go out and accomplish anything. This is why men will always outcompete women on a level playing field. Our entirely psychology is built around external achievement. This post misses a critical point: in your job scenario “best” probably includes long term stability. Women are rarely choosing with long term stability as a key metric. If women consistently chose well and were happy there would be no hand-wringing over any of this. The fact that they’re handed near-limitless power and STILL fuck it up is astounding.

“ There is no solution if women are genuinely ok staying single over setting.” The aren’t, though. Some might say they are, but they’re lying. SSRI use by age and gender (spiking among single women over 40), basically tells the tale. If women fail to secure a man it fundamentally breaks them.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/26 10:13 PM

Potentially, but a woman can solve this by withholding sex until a relationship is formed. If the guy bails, then she has her answer.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/26 10:11 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/26 10:10 PM
1

A solution. Basically, social scripts have to change from "know your worth!" (meaning, massively overrated yourself) to "know your worth...." (be realistic and shoot for something within a reasonable margin). This recalibration will likely happen eventually, it always does, but only after some sort of disaster (typical humans....we only make changes after it's too late).

Yes and no. If a woman thinks she is rating her value for a relationship, but is actually just conflating this with her value for sex….then there is a serious miscalibration. This is basically at the heart of every carousel or situationship experience. The woman thinks she’s worth a ring from ‘X’ calibre of man, and the man utterly disagrees.

You need to make sure that his words match both his actions and external reality. If some guy is visiting your country on holiday but tells you, "Yeah, baby, I totally want to move here for you!" ......he probably doesn't. The difficulty is that the above means women cannot live in fantasy land. They have to be serious about what they offer, and the likelihood that the man in question would actually settle for it. If they're a 10 and you're a 4....it's probably not going to work out, and you nee…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/26 09:05 PM

You have completely missed the point….either intentionally or unintentionally. It’s not about the woman changing her name or not, it is about the whole family unit having the same surname, whatever it is. Also, practice among Latinos varies substantially. None of my Chicano ancestors had double names….they stuck with a single family name (Gonzalez, Cabrera, etc). My ex, another Dominguez, had a double-barrelled name, on the other hand.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/26 11:10 AM

I GUARANTEE you that in cultures where women often change their name when getting married that those families with one, shared name are wealthier, safer, and more successful than those without, on average. GUARANTEE YOU. You bringing up other societies is irrelevant (also, Latinos can and do change their name, or at the very least take up double-barreled names, which is functionally the same thing).

/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/26 06:45 AM

It’s frightening how many women I know in their 30s who are still riding the carousel and are racing towards the proverbial cat palace without realising it. I think the phenomenon is way more common, at least among professional women, than people want to admit. You say that there’s usually someone who will take such a woman, and that’s true! Will she take them, though? There’s the rub….
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/26 06:16 AM

Women who aren’t “obsessed with marriage” lack the object permanence to think a few years, or decades, into the future. Get married young-ish, or you’re likely to have a VERY lonely 30-40 years to slog it out alone in the back nine of life. Not easy….
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/26 06:02 AM

“ So clearly men trying to be a bad boy manipulative asshole isn’t helping them as the dating market hasn’t improved it has only gotten worse.” That’s not how causality works. If men were “trying to be bad boys” (no evidence of this) and the dating market continued to deteriorate it may be that those efforts were preventing the market from deteriorating faster than they otherwise would have…..meaning, they could be effective while still being insufficiently strong to fully reverse the trend.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/26 05:46 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/26 06:31 AM
2

“ A man should make his intent clear early and not settle into a friendship role if what he actually wants is romantic or sexual. ” This sounds smart on the Internet. But it makes no sense in reality. If most men would date most women then the logical conclusion of the above is that virtually no ma should be friends with almost any woman. After all, if he finds her attractive the he “shouldn’t settle into a friendship role”. That’s absurd.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/26 06:28 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/26 06:04 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/26 09:28 PM

The friend zone is just unrequited love. You know, one of the oldest literary tropes and near-universal human experiences? I find it staggering that anyone would even briefly think that it doesn’t exist.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/26 09:26 PM

So, in your view, it is impossible for a man to have unrequited feelings for a specific girl? This NEVER happens? Furthermore, is there something wrong with a man who cats a wide net? I don’t think there is. It doesn’t say nothing about he will treat his eventual partner. At all.

I would say a much more than probable estimation of a person’s character. Theoretically, abusers come in all shapes and sizes….but in reality they tend to pus boundaries and be obnoxious enough in public to spot if you have any sense whatsoever.

2 is wrong. Women struggle to find very attractive men who will forsake all other women just for her. I have never known a woman that did not have MULTIPLE decent men vying for her attention. They are all into her and would be decent partners. We can’t pretend that it is otherwise.

A woman’s options are almost never “bad”. If she thinks they are then her standards are delusional. Period.

“ Men are not only competing with other men. They are also competing with the peace a woman feels when she is single.” This is an oft-repeated cope that we need to shut down. Precious few people are single by choice. A woman might be at war with her own delusional standards (it happens often), but that doesn’t mean that men are “in competition with her peace”. That is a wild reframing of reality that tries to make lonely middle aged cat-moms out to be a viable option, when it is really just a fa…

“If you don't meet the diagnostic criteria for a mental health disorder, then you are at a baseline level of functionality in terms of mental health.” While this should, theoretically, be true I don’t think it actually pans out given how unscientific mental health disorders are. Loads of people with obviously unhealthy/non-functional lifestyles are non-diagnosable (technically nothing wrong with them), and loads of people well within the normative range are diagnoses and ‘treated’ for all manner…

Success rates for therapy, outside of extreme cases (combat-related PTSD). How many people return to a measurable baseline of functionality as a direct result of therapy? You know, the exact metric we use for every other medical field. I broke my arm a few years ago. The doctors and physical therapists patched me up, and my arm is now functional again. Their intervention had a clear and measurable (obvious!) impact. I don’t think you can say that for the vast majority of therapy patients today….…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/26 05:08 AM
3

What sort of success rates are we talking about though? I also notice that you mention clear, fairly extreme, diagnosable problems. Those seem like good candidates for therapy….and they make up a tiny percentage of actual therapy patients today (the vast majority are middle class white women who want to be told they’re amazing).
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/26 04:53 AM

So, it never occurred to you to invite someone to do something? What do you do if you’re hungry? Do you eat? I guess in extreme circumstances like yours it may have helped, but this strikes me as a very niche use case.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/26 04:50 AM

I have never in my life seen someone helped by therapy. Literally not once. I have, however, known several people (women, all of them) who were actively harmed by it…..therapy fed their delusions and made them even more self-absorbed and demanding. I think therapy, as it currently exists, is basically a disaster. It MIGHT have some utility for PTSD (veterans, in particular), but outside of that I think it is ultimately a fad that will start to die out in the coming decades.

Yes, because women, even as they’re racing towards 40, are often delusional and think that any day now their prince will come. They skip the panic phase and go straight from over-optimism to bitterness and regret. Men learn at a young age that relationships are precious and far from a given….so they can weigh up their chances more accurately, which can induce panic.

"It is much more difficult for women." This is physically impossible. Everyone has certain caloric needs. Exceeding those needs, particularly over a long period of time (required to build up fat), requires more effort than eating less. This is true in the most basic, physical sense. You hands and jaws move less. You spend less money. You cook less.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/26 03:29 PM

Literally all someone has to do is stop eating. That’s it. It takes more effort to be fat than it does to be thin….literal negative effort is all that’s required.

It’s because women hate making decisions. It puts them in the position of potentially making the wrong decision, which induces paralysis, which is why a question is mostly met with a ‘no’. “I’ll be at the wine bar’s jazz night. You should come along” puts zero pressure on her to make a quick decision, and lets her imagine you do something cool without her or, worse, with another woman. I hate that female psychology works this way, it is hard to respect, but it is what it is. You can’t change it,…

Most women don’t really talk to exchange factual information…they talk to project an image of themselves, first and foremost. Most women have no epistemology. They don’t learn about the world, they merely project onto it, and hope for the best.

First off, what Americans do is none of my business. Here in Western Europe the VAST majority of young people are not overweight. Secondly, every single one of them COULD be slim, if they put forth even the smallest amount of effort.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/26 06:18 PM
2

Pointing to global population is a cop-out, and you know it. I don’t care if Nigerien women want to have 7 or 8 kids apiece. I do care when French, Italian, Japanese, and South Korean women struggle to have even ONE kid apiece. If we lose developed societies we will NOT claw them back on any sort of reasonable timeframe (centuries).
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/26 03:21 PM

Being slim is EXTREMELY easy. Especially when you're young. You only need a TINY amount of self-control to achieve it.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/26 02:11 PM

If the birth rate stayed up then this would theoretically work (although the resulting violence and instability would likely destroy the population within a generation). The birth rate did NOT stay up, however.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/26 12:12 PM

Every single woman alive was young once, and virtually all of them were slim. Being and young and slim pretty much ticks the box of “attractive” 95% of the time. So….its not even remotely comparable to the standards placed on men.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/26 12:09 PM

Because if they don’t every developed society on Earth will fail, and will be replaced by brutally authoritarian, patriarchal societies. Women’s standards will, single-handedly, cast the developed world back into the ‘bad old days’, if left unchecked.

Women will always prefer a man with too much female attention over one with not enough.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/26 09:09 AM

Also true. Most of the trans men I've known (and I've known/know a lot) started as butch lesbians. Most seem to be thriving as 'men' though, so more power to them.
/r/MensRights20/04/26 09:03 AM
3

I think it's worse, actually. I think they want to 'be' men (at least, to fill the masculine role), but know they never really can (biology exists, for better or worse). It puts them in an impossible position...so I can understand why many feel resentful.
/r/MensRights20/04/26 08:52 AM
1

This is basic intersectionality. You’re getting hit twice: once for being black, the other for being a man. Richard Reeves talk about this a fair bit (he’s white, but I think his kids are biracial/black-presenting? I don’t recall exactly). There’s no real solution sadly. Even being better than all that still puts the burden of being a “model X” on your shoulders. It just sucks. All there is to it. All you can do is carry on and make the best of it. It’s all any of us can do.
/r/MensRights20/04/26 07:34 AM
3

I’m straight, but have always had lots of queer friends. Butch lesbians are by far the most frequent “man haters” (for reasons I’ll never understand). Everyone else seems to be fairly normal (or at least along a normative distribution of attitudes and beliefs).
/r/MensRights20/04/26 07:28 AM

Veterans all over the world already have a long list of programmes that give them advantages in education and employment in exchange for service. You can’t give out those sorts of privileges for theoretical service, especially since conscription (not “the draft”, which is an exclusively American term) is pretty rare.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/26 06:39 AM

Nonsense. It depends on the woman. Some don’t really grow into their features until mid- or even late-20s.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/26 06:36 AM

None of that is about hedonism, it’s about maximising your odds. If you date three women at a time for a month or two your odds of being in a committed relationship by month three are way higher than if you just date one. That’s the theory (in my experience is half works…it’s far from perfect).
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/26 06:34 AM

No one is suggesting that age is a magical process that makes men more attractive. Rather, that what makes a man attractive often takes time to accomplish, which translates into men “having it easier” as they get older. Obviously.

Sorry, I didn’t realise you were a Russian troll. Every credible source out there puts Russian KIA as 250-300k. Your suggestion of half that is ludicrous. Also, suggesting that Ukrainian losses are HIGHER than Russian, despite being on the defensive, runs afoul of all military thinking for the last couple centuries. You’re just wrong, and probably maliciously so.

“ The life expectancy of men who get sent to the trenches is now reportedly measured in days, and people know this.” This is literally not possible. The Ukrainian army is a little shy of a million strong. Let’s say that roughly 100,000 of those are deployed at the front, at any one time. If life expectancy was “days” then Ukraine would be losing hundreds of thousands, dead, EVERY WEEK, let alone every month. In reality their losses are probably closer to 15,000/month. Really try to think things …

Queens were sole or primary rulers about 20% of the time in European history from the late Middle Ages to today. Number if books read per year is a great metric, but not in the way you might think. “Oh, I read 20 books this year!” universally means you were reading meaningless trash….scarcely better than television (and maybe worse). I might read 3-4 books cover to cover each year, but they’re all serious, scholarly tomes, not NYT bestseller trash. As a Swede you’ll understand: feminism has no victory conditions. The more women gain control the more they will use their position to benefit themselves. Apparently black bears kill about 0.6 people per year in North America. About the same rate as adders kill people in Britain.

Hard to say. Are current teachers paid what they’re worth, on average? Possibly. Would better pay induce better people to teach? Likely. Does any of this mean that “teachers are underpaid”? It’s hard to tell.

All of those things still exist, and you have access to them (and why an adult is looking at the boy scouts as a 'third space' I have no idea....). There is not a single third space that your grandparents had that you don't. Literally not one. Bars, churches, dance halls, cafes, libraries, cinemas, theatres......they all still exist, you just don't go. That's your fault, not society's.

Since 2014 I think I’ve dated exactly ONE woman from “my culture”. Every single other person I’ve dated, whether it be a single date or a whole relationship, has been from a different culture, all the way down to native language, with (at times) only minimal crossover to my own. It has made things more interesting, rather than more difficult. OP’s argument is simply wrong.

The online vs IRL distinction faded at least a decade ago. Everyone is on the internet, and thus they bring the ‘real world’ with them when they go online (there isn’t even the act of “going online” anymore….we’re almost never NOT online). Anonymity and the freedom to say the unspoken can make the internet even more real than real life, when it is at its best.

Exactly. Getting half the assets after marriage is basically getting 75% of all assets: the half you got at the time, plus half of whatever is left over.

When you ask people who are red pill, or red pill adjacent, what made them that way they pretty much all have the same answer: their experiences with women. Influencers merely capitalise on the atomisation of society….they don’t cause it.

You learn to 'perform', but with authenticity, which is a great skillset to have.

Celebrities are different though because there is an audience that WANTS TO LIKE THEM, so they can play to the crowd. A random stranger acting the way a celebrity does in front of fans won’t be seen as charismatic….they’ll be seen as deranged. Context is king.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/03/26 03:59 AM

In life social skills are huge, no doubt. They are often the make or break in professional relationships and networking. I tend to be pretty charismatic (as far as I can tell/am told), and it is probably my biggest strength…..but objectively my dating life would still be easier if I was 6’3” instead of 5’6” (and a lot easier, I reckon).

“ Men don’t seem to understand this because their own standards for women they’re romantically interested in is be nice and don’t cheat and be cute.” You forgot that men’s estimation of a “good man” is also directly related to women’s preference for assholes and abusers. If women didn’t proactively search out abusers to date then men wouldn’t consider “non-abuse” as a “good” trait, but rather as a standard one. As ever, women have all the power na shave shapes the dating word in exactly the ways…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/26 08:13 AM

The link didn’t work for me, but I’m assuming that they’re measuring “most watched” by number of hours played or number of views, rather than number of unique viewers? This could just be showing that trans people are more obsessively consumed by porn (which tracks with most of the trans people I’ve known….they tend to be totally sex-obsessed) rather than showing a broad market for trans porn.

In your scenario whether the guy texts back or not the Chad text is still probably working. So, what’s the difference?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/03/26 06:42 AM
1

Of course. Usually not first overall, but once a basic connection has formed it’s not a bad idea to avoid texting her, even if you want to, and let things sit for a day or two sometimes. Let her miss you a little bit, think about you, and then choose to text you. It’ll feel better for both parties.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/03/26 06:38 AM
2

So, it's only a boundary if it is openly stated as such?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/26 07:38 PM
5

Nah, disagree. Texting back too eagerly is the number one way to give a girl the ick. You have got to give her space and make her text first (at least sometimes). As a relationship develops, then you can text more regularly and freely (you’re already bonded at that point).
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/26 06:40 PM

How exactly is escalation not inherently pushing boundaries?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/26 04:59 PM

In Britain we do love a good queue….but I prefer to look for physical cues with a potential partner. Queues have too many other people waiting in line for their turn….
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/26 04:59 PM

Meh. Boundaries need to be (gently) pushed, or nothing will ever happen. On my first date with a girl a while back she just turned around and kissed me, unexpectedly, at the end of the date. She pushed boundaries in doing so. Other escalations, physical or emotional, have all started from one of us pushing the other’s boundaries a little bit. It’s kind of necessary.

Politics is primarily a matter of economics. The culture war is overwhelmingly propagated to protect the monied elite. It is a distraction that only occasionally has real salience (when it directly engages with matters of equality, for example).

First off, no, DEI is decidedly not “over”. A president cannot change culture (they struggle to even change laws). Secondly, Trump has no authority over Europe (thankfully), and DEI is still very much the rule here (at least in Northern and Western Europe, can’t speak for the South or East).

I know you think you’re being cute, but it just doesn’t work this way. Men are used for their resources all the time. The woman takes, but does not reciprocate. When women get “used for sex” BOTH parties get to have sex. It is a neutral situation. No one owes you more (another date, being official, or whatever), and you cannot claim to have lost anything. The two situations are not equivalent at all.

Women socialise more because socialisation is a guarantee of future resources for women in a way that is just isn’t for men. Men HAVE to produce. Women can produce, but they can also leech. So, being well-liked in the broader community and exchanging acts of caring increases the likelihood that a woman will be cared for in future, if needs be. Socialising is also a key component of female hierarchy building. Every interaction is an opportunity to reaffirm one’s station in the hierarchy , so they…

I “gave up” for about three years in my late 20s due to my geographical situation. I was living in a desolate part of the world and there was literally NO ONE I could connect with on any level. “ They will throw "jokes" constantly at their buddies if they think anything is "wrong" with the partner” In 40 years I have literally NEVER seen this happen. Women do this, I’ve seen it….men don’t.

Teasing just shows you’re not intimidated by her. That’s all. Nothing too serious about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/26 01:31 PM

Fair enough. I’m a foreigner, so sort of hover outside the true class system, but my professional circle runs fairly middle class, and occasionally posh. On the rare occasion someone wears cologne they usually get shit for it (in my experience).
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/26 01:31 PM

Is this a class thing? I might smell cologne 2-3 times a year. This is unlike the US where scents are very common (it was considered a basic part of dress for men until very recently).

There is no society that has ever existed in human history that did not have hierarchy. "it’s a human social construction" You say this so confidently when describing...human social interactions. Are you suggesting that humans might just stop acting like humans at some point?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/26 09:39 AM

Hierarchy exists whether you want to admit it or not. Men merely accept it, and shape it to improve its efficacy, rather than “creating” it.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/26 09:01 AM
2

This is half right, but misses the elephant in the room. Men recognise the existence of hierarchy and organise to make it more efficient. Women pretend hierarchy doesn’t exist because it’ll hurt people’s feelings, and then fall into a covert hierarchy that hides behind veiled equality that makes effective leadership vastly more difficult and coercive.

“ The traditional "stay-at-home" model is financially reckless because the partner is unfunded and highly vulnerable to emergencies.” Actually, it is sort of the opposite. Elizabeth Warren covered this in the two-income trap 20 years ago. Two adult workers in a family means if either worker suffers a loss of income they won’t have enough money to make ends meet (it actually increases the odds of bankruptcy). Having just one worker in a family means that if that worker loses income (partially or …

It’s the education system. Young people are trained to make cute and creative arguments rather than clear, direct, and factual ones. This is especially bad in the humanities, which are dominated by women. It’s a simple as that.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/26 08:47 AM

OP, I’ll say this; you’re still VERY young. I know you don’t feel like it, you probably feel pretty grown up, but you’re not. It will only get easier for you from here. Keep working on your career. Work out (it’s good for you, regardless). Build up your charisma (try to meet a lot of new people regularly and learn how to charm a room….its actually not too hard, in my experience, once you get the hang of it). Life is long, and you’re still at the VERY beginning of it. Keep going.

Totally disagree on the social circle thing. Having a social circle which regularly introduces new people it a great way to be periodically exposed to new people who might be interested. Birthdays and doctors are both super optional, and most men happily do without (unless they are actually sick, and need care). Bills definitely get paid by men, both on their own and in relationships. The “emotional labour” stuff is all the fluff of life: getting exactly the right flavour of cake for that one neighbour’s co-worker’s friend who visited three years ago and is back in town…..that sort of thing.

I don't get what all these people are talking about. In my experience the woman in a hetro relationship is ALWAYS the one driving for trips and days out and all the rest of it. I don't mind, it can be a good stimulus, but most men are pretty content to stay home, smoke weed, and play video games to relax. I think it is one of the many axes along which women compete with each other. "Oh, MY man took me to 'x' this year....". They use it to gauge how much they are valued.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/26 10:24 AM

Yeah, the term 'victim blaming' has done so much damage to our society. It implies that people have zero ability or responsibility to even try to protect themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/26 10:16 AM

No, you just hate men. Let me tell you a universal male experience. Every man I know has had female friends bring around a new guy they’re dating, and realised inside of five minutes that the guy is an asshole. It just radiates off of him. Then, when it inevitably falls to shit, she is totally confused and shocked, because “how could he!?”. If every man can spot obvious red flags in other men in minutes or less (sometimes I can tell a man is an asshole without even speaking to him), then why can…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/26 05:15 AM

Ignorant and short-sighted misandry…..as usual. In my line of work we are pretty regularly reminded that of a very attractive woman seems interested in you….be very suspicious. There is a non-zero chance that she is a spy. Nations tend to use very attractive women (and occasionally men) to do this kind of work because they can short-circuit our rational brain in a way less-attractive people simply cannot. This short-circuited happens to women every time they get pumped and dumped. So, telling th…

To me red pill just means look at what women do, not what they say. Women always told me I’d be great for “someone” (not them). I tried being nice and supportive and that got me nowhere. I worked on my status and started lifting, and stopped simping….and then had loads of success. This is what people say when they mean RP is praxis.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 11:53 AM

Imagine putting 3 or 4cm soles on loafers or Chelseas……that’s even before the silly insole suggestion (which would literally make the shoe unwearable).
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 11:43 AM

It is so rich that you are calling anyone a troll.... Do you know how ridiculous 9cm insoles would be? What shoes could a man even wear with those!? You're a woman...you have no idea what it is like to be a short man, particularly in a tall part of the world (I live in Northern Europe).
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 10:18 AM

Dating 10 years older is barely an “age gap” in most circumstances…you’re just two adults. My last girlfriend was nine years younger and the age difference never occurred to either of us, or to anyone we interacted with (friends, colleagues, etc).
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 08:26 AM

I’m 5’6”. A 1 inch lift in shoes is not going to go anything for me, especially since platform shoes have become super popular, so women are boosting their height by 4-5 inches everywhere they go these days (which was not the case even just a few years ago). This post is totally ludicrous and disingenuous.

A 10% improvement. Great. And what about the improvement seen by the top 10%? The top 1%? I'm sure that's around 10% too, right? Where I live houses are 10-11x median salary. My profession has experienced a 20% drop in real wages in the last 20 years (the entire country has experienced a 10-15% reduction in real wages over the same, post-2008 period). As a middle aged professional I can JUST about afford a ex-council house.....the sort of dwelling that used to be essentially GIVEN to poor people…

Lost a good bar about a decade ago….but other bars exist. By “not one” I mean not one category. Obviously individual establishments come and go.

Median income per person is misleading because of the increase of women in the workforce. Look at media male income….it hasn’t budged in the same time period. Also, look at the inflation of essentials, especially housing.

You’re asking for changes to our very evolution. That’s not going to happen on any sort of reasonable timeframe. Of men did not pursue, en masse, humanity would die out. EVEN WITH male pursuit Korea and Japan may cease to exist within a century or two (because women refuse to accept local men, who then retreat into strange, screen-based lives as a result, making them even more undateable, and creating a population death spiral).
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/26 04:58 AM

So, you basically agree. The third spaces are all still there, people (terminally online, maladjusted weirdos) just refuse to use them, and then they turn around and pretend like these places no longer exist at all, because they can’t be bothered to shower, get dressed, and actually go there.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/26 04:55 AM

If people choose to sit at home and goon all day that’s their fault…..not society’s. The real problem is economic: everyone is just a lot poorer than they were 50 years ago, so they have less time and money to waste hanging out in public. People also get married way later, so they’re complaining about spending most of their time at home in their 20s and 30s which previous generations ALSO DID…..they just already had a spouse and children by then, so it didn’t matter.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/26 04:52 AM

Agreed. I hate the fact that some Sociology adjunct somewhere taught these midwits about “third spaces”, and now they’ll go on brining them up, impotently, for the rest of their lives. We have no lost even a SINGLE third space in the past century (in fact, we’ve gained some!). Cafes and bars still exist. So do dancehalls and churches, and (depending on where you live) soda bars, and bowling alleys, and rec leagues and all the rest of them.

Honestly, young, not-fat women are not “above average” in the market of young men. They are the norm. The obesity statistics are thrown off by older people (who are almost universally overweight, as sad as that is).

On an atomised, individual level yes….its totally fine to have unrealistic standards. In reality, however, tens of millions of people having ludicrous standards fed to them by social media is DISASTROUS for a society.

My old car and tiny house would both be considered 'poverty level' in most of the US. My colleagues, when they briefly transferred to the Bay Area, got financial aid for their children to attend school, because they were the poorest family in the neighbourhood. The UK is poorer than Alabama or Mississippi. People just don't realise it because we still have soem old buildings from back when we were actually rich.

What do you mean by socialism? Regulated capitalism is the single greatest economic model that has ever been developed. Americans might complain about wealth disparity, but this is partially because Americans have enough wealth to actually distribute. In Europe we have less wealth overall (by a huge degree), and therefore less wealth disparity, because there just isn’t very much to go around in the first place). I’m a top 10% earner in the UK, and have to live like a bottom 40% earner in the US.…

Logic. No woman on Earth is going to be won over by “love bombing” from an ugly dude. If it worked, then “simps” and orbiters would not exist….they’d all win the girls they’re chasing. We know that this does not happen. So, since she’s lying about how attractive the man is you have to stay deducing logical reasons why that might be. Simple as that.

Yes, I think people (bored academics) came up with a term for something that does not exist. I do not explain the phenomenon….because I don’t think it exists. Manipulation exists, but the vast majority of “love bombing” claims I’ve seen or heard of are not manipulative….they’re just alive that fizzles out for whatever reason. Sadly, people today have this sick need to label EVERYTHING, which unlikely only confuses them further, rather than adding any clarity.

Mental illness is probably a subtle reaction to overpopulation. The human population was fairly stable until about 300 years ago. People died early and often, making depression a ludicrous response when everyone was miserable. Now that people are far less likely to die in a mining accident or whatever lives longer on and we had to fill these lives up with meaning….which previous generations didn’t have to worry about as much. It’s just a totally different paradigm, exacerbated by communications …
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/26 05:11 AM

When she says “the men don’t have to be attractive” she’s lying and coping. She either means: she would be embarrassed to have fallen for the guy in front of her friends (usually because he isn’t tall enough); or she REALLY liked him and needs irrationally to take him down a peg to make herself feel better.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/26 05:05 AM

A woman’s “emotional labour” is just inventing expectations for herself and then congratulating herself for meeting them. No more, no less. “I did all the mental load/emotional labour or decorating the house and making sure everything wa perfect for Christmas!” Great. A man would be equally happy if none of this happened, so it is not added value, nor is it necessary.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/26 04:48 AM

Because if she treats you worse up front, the likelihood of her treating you worse down the line skyrockets. This doesn’t just mean psychological pain, but a strong likelihood of being absolutely devastated financially when Chad does come knocking five years into your marriage. If a girl isn’t crazy about you, chances are she’ leaving and taking half your stuff at the nearest opportunity.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/26 04:22 AM

So, making dating more autistic? No thanks. People just need to be mature (which they largely aren’t), and brave a little discomfort to do the other person right if they lose interest.

50% success rate for a guy built as you describe seems marginally low… Honestly, it sounds like these women are putting in minimal effort, and I wouldn’t be thrilled either. If she NEVER texts first that’s a terrible sign, in my view. Age is no excuse. I dated a 32 year old last year and she was full on crazy about me (well, crazy in general, frankly, but there we are).

It’s like demanding that women, on average, make the same amount of money as men on average, and refusing to date men who aren’t wealthier than they are. Both demands are totally reasonable (in my view), but they also create an inherent contradiction.

I think if you lead a team of community organizers then, yeah, within that milieu of course that builds status. A good leader necessarily has status over the people they happen to lead. That's how leadership works. You're not competing against 'all of society'....just people within your niche.

Don’t be obtuse, we all know status: it is about power, connections, and hierarchy. If you’ve never experienced this outside of school that’s your problem, it doesn’t refute the basic concept.

“ I disagree tho. I don’t think the status you’ve just described attracts anyone.” You’re just wrong. I don’t know what else to say. Have you ever been in a band? Have you ever been a leader in any way? If you had you’d know that it attracts women like crazy.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/26 08:18 AM

This is because you don’t understand status. A well-known author, a locally popular performer (comedian, musician, etc.), the captain of the HS football team…..none of these people necessarily have any money but, for their milieu, they have HUGE amounts of status.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/26 08:16 AM

Stations easy: your ranking on the hierarchy (whatever hierarchy you happen to be a part of). The team leader has more status than a rank and file member. The person who is more famous or has better contacts has more status than someone who is less famous and has poorer contacts.

It’s not the major that matters, it’s the quality of the institution. Getting a degree from an unranked local university puts someone in the “educated” box, technically, but let’s not pretend that it is anything like attending an elite university.

This is so disingenuous. Rural men are compared to the other men in their community, not to men working in high finance who don’t even know this po-dunk town even exists.

Men are not the selectors. 90% of men have VERY limited options and kind of have to take whatever is on offer. This is not true for most women. That’s why there are different standards in judging their mate choices.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/26 08:33 AM

“ People choosing their own spouse is fairly new.” “Spouse” is doing A LOT of heavy lifting here. People have overwhelmingly chosen who they had sex with across the last few hundred thousand years. Marriage is a social convention, not a biological aspect of our species. People had WAY more freedom in the past than people today want to accept.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/26 08:30 AM

Women are the ones who shifted their standards. You can’t very well turn around and blame men when women are fatter and less agreeable than ever before, while also having higher standards.

Monogamous societies have outcompeted polygynous societies time and time again. The data is in: monogamy, while not always as ‘fun’, is a superior system. Period.

If women were more selective for stability and commitment, I would agree entirely...but they're not. They're selective for height, criminality, and money....only one of which has any bearing on raising a child safely.

The 'shy' woman is a myth. If a woman wants you she will make it exceedingly clear. ANYTHING else, is a 'no'. I have never once in my life seen a 'shy girl' go from 'maybe' to 'yes' with myself or any of my friends. Not even once. It doesn't happen (or, if it does, it does so rarely as to be ignorable).

I don’t have time to go into the level of granularity you’re looking for, I’m sorry. The point is that these neologisms are NOT describing actual behaviour. Anyway, this is what I see in Britain (and what I hear from the US and Canada).

Applying a word to something pathologises and reifies it. It turns nothing into something, and often creates problems that otherwise would not exist. The recent identity obsession is really just a reflection of the way that identity has been used to win, and protect, privilege in recent decades. It is not a reflection of reality.

Yep, pretty much this.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/26 04:21 AM

This is a ludicrous take. Some women strong men along for material benefit. Men do not want this to happen to them, so look for sexual interest early on. A woman who shows you less sexual interest than she has shown other men in the past make it statistically MUCH more likely that she just wants you for your status/money/whatever. It is pretty simple.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/26 04:17 AM

First off, PhDs are measures of endurance, not intelligence. Secondly, the only thing a woman can do to truly show interest is to be physical. Absolutely nothing else works in quite the same way. Doesn’t means she has to have sex on the first date, but if there is not at least making out, then a man’s suspicion and doubt is going to be raised. Period.

This is nonsense. We’re talking biology, not culture or the actions of any one man. A man will produce millions of spring his life….the woman thousands of eggs. That alone dictates the massive disparity in sexual interest and who gets most of the attention.

Can’t speak for other men, but the planning and communication games women make men play are absolutely exhausting. I think it is a huge mistake to assume you know what happens behind closed doors. I have no idea how my grandparent’s generation had sex, and frankly, I’d rather not know. I do know that ribald jokes and drawings are ANCIENT, and that we have written references to oral and anal sex going back thousands of years so…..I’m going to go ahead and assume sex has not changed all that much. Any suggestion that it has is just presentism.

If you want a lawful country then you must have law enforcement. It is not legal to enter a country without permission. If you try to sneak in anyway and get caught you can expect to be removed. Period.

People were way more mad at “all lives matter”, and the percent of people wrongfully detained by ICE has been minuscule. Last I checked recent ICE raids have yielded tens of thousands of illegal immigrants. In this process fewer than 200 American citizens have been detained (and as far as I can tell, most of them due to blatant non-compliance). Having a better than 99.9% success rate is pretty impressive.

“ We were the generation that saw the death of social third spaces ” Oh, ffs. Why do effete, middle-class Americans always go on about “third spaces”!? Name ONE “third space” that you lost. Just one! You can’t, because every single third space your grandparents had is STILL THERE (and you probably have WAY MORE third spaces than your great-grandparents had). So the answer is "no". You don't know what it means. "Third worlds" means "neither Soviet nor Western Democracy". Since the end of the Cold War it is a meaningless term, since there is no "second world" anymore (the USSR, although Putin is trying hard to revive it) there is no "third world". "Third world" has NOTHING to do with the relative wealth of a country. South Korea would technically be a "third world" country (and was).

You cannot have wealthy without poverty, sadly. When delusional people say they want to solve poverty what they really mean is they want to more aggressively outsource it. No complex society on Earth has ever existed without a large, exploited class (workers, slaves, etc). It is not possible to create value without unfairly compensating workers. The math just doesn’t math.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/26 09:56 AM

Only the top tier men do this. Every single dating problem women have, EVERY one, could be solved overnight if they stopped Chad-chasing. “Pump and dump” purely means that the woman wasn’t on the man’s level. Period. Every single time.

Women have unlimited power to shape society and gender relations. We live in the culture that women build, everyday, by choosing who to sleep with, marry, and have children with. If your husband expects you to do the bulk of the childcare, well, YOU CHOSE HIM. You could have chosen someone else, but I guess he wasn’t six feet tall, so you didn’t.

/r/PurplePillDebate24/01/26 08:10 AM

This is needless semantics. The fact is that women NEED to look up to their man, and so their man has to treat them with a level of either disinterest (VERY slightly, basically signalling a willingness to walk away) or be slightly patronising. I hate it, but it is fundamentally what women demand and reward. I wish they didn’t, but I don’t get to control that. All I can control is how I respond.

This is such an Anglo-centric view of the past. The story doesn’t work for MOST of the world, which did no grant universal suffrage in response to activism. Pretty much exclusively the US, UK, and Switzerland did. Lots of states simply had it forced on them after 1945, or as part of communist or socialist revolutions.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/26 08:36 PM

I would disagree….I think being used is the norm, not an aberration. A woman has one boyfriend, and multiple orbiters. The maths point to “using” being far more common than anyone wants to admit.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/26 02:19 PM

“ For example, a queer-friendly nightlife scene in a major city that doesnt consist only of gay bars” This is kind of a problem, though. My friends complain bitterly that there are only two lesbian bars in Paris (on the same street, of course). They don’t want to go to a “queer-friendly” bar when they go out. They’re lesbians, and they want to go to a LESBIAN bar. The amalgamation of queer spaces works for some smaller queer communities, but is not necessarily a good thing for larger ones.

“How's the relationship with your friends? What are your thoughts on a woman's right to choose? Those are honestly straightforward and great for all parties. I can ask "How do you feel about fitness? Are you in therapy? Do you think that some rules apply only to men? Only to women?“ These are absolutely insane questions to ask someone, particularly on a first date. The implications are vile and would turn me off instantly (they have strong “guilty until proven innocent” vibes).

I love how virtue-signalling lefties are always the most overtly racist people online. You assume the subjects are white and straight (says a lot about you), and you assume POC and LGBT people are to be found at special “cultural events” (like a damned travelling circus of diversity) rather than, I dunno, EVERYWHERE?

On a first date you should really be asking interview-style questions at all. Just ask about the other person. Be interested in them. Tell stories about your past. You know….BE A NORMAL HUMAN.

Confidence that exclusively comes from within is delusion….not confidence. I’m a decent guitar player. I’m confident because I have played with, and for, others and have had positive, undeniable feedback. I could be ‘confident’ that this experience means I would be a great conductor of a full symphonic orchestra…..something I’ve never done before and have no relevant training, knowledge, of expertise in…..but that would be utterly delusional.

That’s a weird comparison….I don’t think it works. BP men are more like born-wealthy conservatives. OF COURSE they’re happy with lies, fantasy, and the status quo….it’s worked out quite nicely for them, with absolutely zero effort!

Modern parenting is still “easy” (as in basically anyone can do it with not training or experience), but it has become more time consuming. Recently I was watching the NFL with a friend and he had to go pick up his daughter from a school event. She’s 12 (iirc) and the school is maybe 300 metres away. For the last few hundred thousand years a a child of 12 just 300m away from How would be considered more than capable of getting herself home safely. Not anymore. It’s collective madness.

“Properly” is a huge shifting goalpost. Parents (particularly American parents) have wildly over complicated parenting BY CHOICE. Leaving a kid to play with dirt and sticks in the back yard would be more than enough for most children throughout most of human history. Only in recent decades have well-to-do families suddenly required their children to be constantly “enriched”, and have their schedule filled to bursting with pointless activities. I grew up in the 90s and parenting was mostly tellin…

The return of prudishness is a left-wing phenomenon…not a right wing one.

Millennial here, our experience mirrors Gen Z pretty closely (although we were better adjusted, having at least had analog childhoods).

“Don't romanticize our grandparents/great-grandparents. Yeah, they got married immediately, but they fought all the time and resented each other.” I do t understand this constant revisionism that says EVERY married couple in the 20th century hated each other and were miserable. I’ve spent A LOT of time along older people (70 and up) and, on average, they seem way happier with their relationships than younger people. People just had lower standards in the past, across the board, and were easier t…

The guys that do well are mostly tall. They do not have actionable advice.

They’ve had crazy inflation. So, the numbers all look really big, but the money just doesn’t go as far anymore (and Americans still wildly overspend on cars).
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/26 03:02 AM

Fair enough. I strongly disagree, and think that the implications of “abortion is murder” go WAY farther than anyone really wants to admit, but there we are.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/26 11:40 PM

Totally disagree (also, Americans and their “state lines”….you guys really gotta get out more). Abortion is a modern medical miracle and should be cheaply and easily available for any woman that wants one, up until the start of the third trimester (at least, in my view, obvs).
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/26 11:19 PM

This is also a hyper-localised, US-only problem. EVEN THEN American women in states with abortion bans can just drive or fly to a state that does not have those bans. If they can't afford a short drive or a cheap flight then they have WAY bigger issues on their hands and should have been MUCH more careful with sex (accepting that genuine accidents do happen....but they're pretty rare. Condom breakage is NOT common).

"I can't get medical emergency reproductive care to save my life." ....why is that? You have internet, you must be able to get medical care as well.

Every time I felt 'insecure' in a relationship it was for good reason, and that relationship usually ended shortly thereafter. As long as you're not overreacting, you can usually trust your gut. "Should I mask when I’m around them and cry myself asleep?" Yes, you should do exactly this, if you're being irrational. You MUST be logical if you're going to present a problem to a man. "I feel this way, even though it is unjustified, help!" is not going to get you anywhere.

I guess things wouldn’t change dramatically for me. Maybe less casual sex, but pull out exists and works fine, as long as you have even a modicum of self-control.

Do you want a source that says the sun rises every morning? National birth rates are general knowledge. How is this disingenuous nonsense allowed!?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
