I don't understand why she wants you to be with her when she's the one who wants out. It doesn't make sense to me. I would yes her to death and pucker up and kiss her ass to get the terms that are beneficial to you after divorce. Do not stay in separation limbo. After the divorce do as you wish with no regrets.

It's a trap, do not sign this as you have no say in how much and how often you will be required to pay the "50%". Any agreement that requires you to pay must also be agreed by you.

The problem with your situation is that you've stayed with her after her having two affairs and possibly many more. She has no respect for you at all and as others have said communicate only through email and if she still tries to talk, cut her off immediately.

It's amazing how they fall out of love after you buy the house. Please protect yourself and forget the "white knight" bullshit. Look up the 180 and grey rock her. She want's out, let her go.

Never underestimate the power of stupidity.

Undo the changes you made for her and make a bunch of big changes for yourself to make you comfortable. She sounds extremely immature and self-centered thinking of herself as a princess and you as her servant.

11

You're doing the dreaded and fruitless "pick me" dance which never works. Detach from her and start going out and have some fun, not to date or look for another but to have a good time doing things you like without her. She's gone, accept it.

Play the long game and communicate NOTHING about your life with her. It'll drive her nuts.
/r/Divorce_Men18/10/23 10:10 AM
16

Yup, It was to get a reaction. Tell her you don't give a shit if she screws half the town. You need to give her the "Grey rock treatment" and just walk away when she starts shooting her mouth off.
/r/Divorce_Men18/10/23 10:08 AM

It's very simple, YOU make the decision for her and don't look back.

Get this shit locked down now so that you are not responsible for her soon to be maxed out line of credit.
/r/Divorce_Men11/10/23 09:08 PM

Let her sleep on the couch, Get a firm custody agreement that gives you every other weekend off. Knock off the White Knight shit and let her be responsible for her actions.

They are old enough to know and it's not your duty to protect her "reputation". She didn't have the guts to just divorce because you were not supposed to find out. Tell them so when she introduces her "new" boyfriend that they know that the game is rigged. Never become a Martyr for a cheating spouse. Your kids will hate you for not being truthful and they will find the truth.
/r/Divorce_Men11/10/23 08:24 PM
2

She will have no problem throwing you under the bus and causing you huge legal problems along with no access to your kids. She is getting coached by her drunk "friends" and is using you as a babysitter. Don't be surprised when "Mr wonderful" enters the picture. Cut out the white knight shit. She wants a divorce, give it to her and let her take care of herself and her own shit.

I was told long ago to never enter into a contract where the other side has an incentive to break it. I ignored that once and it cost me around 150 grand.

Why would she work on herself when she can blame you for everything wrong with her life?
/r/Divorce_Men17/09/23 12:34 PM
2

Try to get through the divorce as quickly as possible. See if you can use a mediator instead of putting the lawyer's kids through college. Do not be the "white knight" after the papers are signed & sealed your only concern should be for the kids. Do not give a penny more than stipulated.

As others have said, you cannot negotiate desire. Look up the 180 and "grey rock" Do not call, text or initiate communication. She wants to go on her "Journey" Let her go but you go on your own trip without her. Make an appointment with a lawyer and get the ball rolling and serve her, if she can't make her mind up you make it for her. There's nothing that says you two can't get back together but she has to get her shit sorted out first and you don't want to be in waiting Limbo while she's while …
/r/Divorce_Men20/08/23 11:36 AM
5

At least she's not farting.
/r/Divorce_Men16/08/23 11:06 PM

Only if the desire is there to improve once she realizes that there is a problem and she's it. I wish you luck.
/r/Divorce_Men08/08/23 09:19 PM
7

Absolutely not, you can't fix her and she will not get better.
/r/Divorce_Men08/08/23 10:08 AM

She's scared of not being in control of him. It's going to be a whole new ball game when he in fact finds his balls
/r/Divorce_Men12/07/23 10:06 PM

You're letting her try to make decisions that she can't make, so you make it for her and make sure it's in you're favor.

Dead bedroom for 27 years? One year would have done it for me. Please forget the "white knight" shit and leave that to the professionals. When all is said and done, she is looking for her own comfort and not your own.

It wasn't a failure, it was an early journey course correction. You analyzed the situation and decided that you wanted no part of it, just like looking at a weather forecast and deciding not to head into the storm. You were aware of her problems and tested her and she failed very early and then you noped right the hell out of there, don't beat yourself up over it.

Logic and accountability are like kryptonite to some women and it's good you're not trying to make sense of her delusional life, that would be an exercise in futility. Keep on your path, and in a few years you're children will be old enough to vote with their feet.

Ya, She's "a strong independent woman"... until she's not. Your business is none of her goddam business. Tell her to keep her mouth shut about anything concerning you or she can find a new place for her kid's time.

/r/Divorce_Men21/05/23 09:09 AM

Give her what she wants (a divorce) but give her nothing else. Get the best lawyer you can and do not go beyond a fair settlement. Grey rock her along with the 180 which is for you to detach, not to win her back. Sounds like she has a side plan going it could be another guy or it could be she has divorced friends egging her on.
/r/Divorce_Men19/05/23 11:39 PM
1

Why let her make the decision? You make the decision for her. I hate to say it but if she pulls this shit after only a few months the marriage is over. She is using you as an ATM and has no respect for you. Please keep your emotions under control and move on with your life.
/r/Divorce_Men18/05/23 11:12 AM

Fuck her, let her clean her own burnt pans.
/r/Divorce_Men17/05/23 09:41 AM

Yup, I can't say enough about "wind therapy" When the world starts closing in on me I pack up the scooter and head out for a week or two. BTW I'm 70
/r/Divorce_Men16/05/23 10:57 AM
2

Then it's time to set that shit straight right now. I'll get to that point during the winter and then take off for a week or so on the bike and get some "wind therapy" when the weather is like now
/r/Divorce_Men13/05/23 07:12 PM

This is why she is your ex. It's not about chores, it's about control. Iv'e had a few battles over this and I said that if you don't like the way I do it, it's on you.

I've seen it many times. If your wife has a bunch of divorcees for friends your time is limited. Start planning for yourself.
/r/Divorce_Men01/05/23 12:00 AM

She needs your wallet which should be very obvious. Get away as fast as possible and then throw a party for yourself and be very happy that you only had to put up with her for a few years.

Bullshit, what about "in sickness or in health" I've been where you are and the huge difference is my wife stood by me when I tried to push her away so that I could eat a bullet. It's just about impossible to explain it to someone who hasn't lived it.

It's called the "hive mind" where women comiserate with each other. I have noticed that if a wife hangs out with divorcees, the marriage will not last.

/r/Divorce_Men27/03/23 11:10 AM

She is showing NO respect for you anytime I've seen this happen it never ends easily. Take control of the situation and end it for her. It's also time to get rid of the enabling "girlfriend" Might be time to reach out to an old girlfriend or maybe a new one to let her know she can be replaced. The only other alternative is to turn into a complete doormat.

Interesting comment, what makes her think you"ll suffer or be alone? Sounds like she has someone else on the hook so that she won't "suffer" If you're like me ultimatums are meant to be ignored, I don't give in to blackmail.

I just got back from a two week trip to Spain with a couple of my buddies. Our wive's weren't along because our agenda did not even slightly line up with what they would want. We talked daily and got a big hug when I got home. We're planning a trip with the wive's this fall. It works both ways, she can go anywhere with her friends and do things that I would have no interest in.
/r/Divorce_Men25/02/23 08:21 PM

Yah, she'll change but not in the direction you want. Whatever you do, DO NOT have children with her. Then you'll see the full blown crazy. BTW, how is her parents relationship ?
