And that's why male suicide rates are so high. If you're hurting about something, fucking talk to the person who loves you. It's not unconditional love if you are too scared to reveal your demons. It's not love if they won't take the bad with the good and what's the point of a relationship if you aren't supported when you need it too. Also, people like feeling special - a stoic guy opening up makes you feel like you're trustworthy which is a massive part of being in love. Classic movie trope - b…

Being whiny and self-pitying is unattractive but sharing something personal is an incredibly powerful way of demonstrating trust and building intimacy. He thinks he's being nice by performing actions like opening doors and changing her seat and that makes him a Nice Guy. What the woman saw was a guy who repeatedly disregarded her wishes (e.g where she wanted to sit) and overstepped boundaries that she made clear, which in her eyes is the opposite of nice. He presumably was trying to please her, but he was too busy demonstrating his idea of Nice Guy behaviour to actually take her views into consideration. Actual niceness is about caring about wh…

Opening doors doesn't have to be about gender/power - it is also just a courtesy that you might do for anyone. I would open a door for a man or a woman - it's just a demonstration of manners so if you don't imbue it with the power to impact your relationship/balance with a girl then it won't have any affect. Open doors because it's polite, not because you want it to create a response in a woman, which is pretty beta. In terms of dealing with a woman who has said she is not comfortable with sex w…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
