it's meant to point out how the forum is utilized A LOT of the time-- to express hurt feelings, never really touching on deeper issues. and THAT is what gets me So you are saying that men shouldn't get together and discuss hurt feelings? That shouldn't be done? It's unimportant or annoying to you? Sometimes men need a few comforting words, a little support, a few words of advice, people who understand. That isn't always easy to come by in today's world. And THAT is something I think is very wort…

However, you don't see a woman post her story every time a dude makes an offensive comment, grabs her ass, or completely stereotypes her. So I take it you don't subscribe to r/TwoXChromosomes/ Yes, you'll respond by posting feminist web sites, I posted that one specifically because it isn't feminist based. but that is such a tiny portion of women and not representative at all of the attitude women generally hold toward men. No. Not every woman makes a story about it. It's just a selection of ins…

There is a difference between US standards & India standards. Can we honestly say we know how India would handle the teachers situation?

The solution is simple. We must force women to contribute to projects that they don't willingly want to participate in.

A $30 donation is suggested. I would cry too. WTF? $30 for a two hour cry session? Movies at blockbuster are $3.99. If anyone is wondering what the angle is, Lee Glickstein teaching people about public speaking. At $30 a pop this is a revenue stream for him. If it was really about the people they would meet & chip in for a pizza. http://www.speakingcircles.com/Products/products.html

I find it humorous that this commenter http://www.reddit.com/r/feminisms/comments/ezw5u/can_we_help_a_redditor_keep_tucker_max_from/c1c8rx7 is complaining about a "Men's rights" bury brigade, while attempting to plan a real life bury brigade on a public speaker. I also see that this thread has been heavily buried. For the record, I think down voting opinions you don't like is counter productive. It frequently hides many excellent rebuttals.

As people look at that, try to put into perspective a bit a self analysis. Yes, this reddit deals with a lot of trolls, false-flag posters and we have our share of hurt bitter men. Do we really want to be seen as the polar opposite of the feminist movement with a different set of genitalia? Let's try to behave better. Let's not bash all women & stereotype them as a whole. Let's try to drop the venom and the degrading language. It's up to us to define who we are and what we stand for. It would he…

I think it doesn't serve the purposes of men's rights to hunt around, find anything & everything half the population has done wrong and bash them for it. We are not & should not be an anti-women movement. We are a pro-men rights movement. This really is one if the biggest downfalls of feminism. They stopped focusing on equal rights and started obsessing on tearing down men. Recognize their error. You idea is wrong and here is my rationale: As outlined in the 3 rules of roMANtics (see it on the spearhead) The spearhead is not my bible. This female in this article has displayed evil, brutish behaviour. It is important to call it out for what it is and this is important for highlighting another aspect of males' plight. We don't build ourselves up by tearing other people down.
/r/MensRights11/01/11 01:51 AM
1

i think the article applies to male rights by highlighting yet another instance in which a woman is wrong and evil. You know that really has nothing to do with men's rights. It's not about pointing out where women are wrong or perceived to be evil. We have a heck of a lot more important things on our plate than to worry about someone else's approach to parenting.

Im all for other races boasting about their "accomplishments", but in the USA, when white people do it, its called racist. So its not exactly fair for everyone. Being a men's rights reddit, I don't think it does us any favors to run around calling people racist or pick at racial issues here. Men's Rights encompasses a large number of races. Running around pointing fingers on questions like this won't bring us closer together or help us focus on helping out our fellow man. Let's ditch the divisiv…

What about "Why Italians are the Best Mothers" If that was the title, I would have made similar assumptions about the article as I did with this one. Im going to post a blog article titled: "Why American Mothers Are Superior" On a chinese financial blog and see if your theory is right. I think the point of cultural reference is relevant here. If you posted that title in an American based blog, people would in fact assume you are comparing American Mothers to American Fathers. But if you posted that same title in another country, the readers would tend to assume you are comparing American Mothers to 'X-country' Mothers. It's just mainly a raci…

B/c its yet again implied that chinese mothers are obviously superior to any western father by default (or any father for that matter) Perhaps people will compare the parenting styles between her system and Western styles. But I suspect most people will be comparing mothers to mothers. If you take something different away from that, fine. I just don't see it as a dig at Western fathers. Western mothers maybe. /r/MensRights10/01/11 10:43 AM

That is primarily comparing Chinese mothers to Western mothers. Not really comparing them to men. While the author asserts in her title that Chinese mothers are superior, there really are just cultural differences with different pluses and minuses. I don't see how this applies to mens rights.

So few people probably request this service, I bet if you complained & made a deal of it locally that the TTC would probably cave on the gender issue. Next time you are on the bus after hours, go ahead and make your stop request. If the bus driver refuses, tell them that it is sexist and file a complaint the next day. Squeaky wheel get the grease.

/r/MensRights05/01/11 08:32 AM

Is it sexist? Sure. But is it really that big of a deal? Bus ridership is very low after hours. Especially between 9pm-5am so this isn't going to have much of an impact on travel times or have a noticeable affect on other people. I'd much rather focus on issues such as discriminatory child custody issues, legal biases, and cultural stigmatization of men as monsters. Whereas this is just worrying about what someone has that we don't. The negative impact is incredibly low.

If there were a PSA which showed 100 of those little "I DIDN'T RAPE" situations, and two or three of them were female rapists, that'd be proportional representation. As it is, with only four scenarios, I checked their website. They have several more of those PSA images. None of them have women. Also, the website is Men Can Stop Rape. if one was blacked out and the other wasn't, it may be seen as a rape scenario. I agree. Is someone is passed out that is rape. In this situation, the responsibility to STOP the sexual encounter is equally in either party's hands. Let's assume that earlier in the day, both parties saw a PSA advising against rape - the man saw the one targeted at males, and the woman saw a hypothetical poster targeted at females. Now. But this is a situation in which 97-98% of perpetrators ARE ACTUALLY MALE. Doesn't sound like much of a stereotype to me. Assuming your statistics are correct, that doesn't mean that 97-98% of men are rapists. Stereotypes are unfairly apply attributes to a whole. No reasonable woman is afraid of being arrested for rape. Hence, the PSA is less effective when aimed at a woman, and more effective when aimed at a man. The PSA wasn't based off of what you are legally culpable for. It was based off of what is the right thing to do. Why should we reinforce gender based double standards that place all of the blame the men & let women off the hook for equally poor actions & behavior? The inequality in our justice system exists because society keeps on reinforcing…

Most men use things like dinner to get to know women to see if they hit it off. Personally, I think sex in exchange for the price of a dinner is absurd. But even if a man does have that expectation, there is nothing wrong with that. Many women have unreasonable expectations too. There is a big difference between, "if she doesn't put out, I won't date her any more" vs. using physical force or violence to rape.
