I’m very interested to read the suggestions that will be posted. But I think one way to prioritize yourself in a relationship is to make time for yourself. You can still take yourself on dates or have an evening to yourself to do whatever you want. In terms of a weekend, keeping one day for yourself to recharge. And the other day for your partner.

My LVM-ex did this at a wedding (that was the worse time). He walked into the venue, after I paid for our fare to get there 🤡, he just walked away to talk to friends. When I explained that that wasn’t polite, (I don’t know why I thought I could teach him manners.) he said that his ex-girlfriend knew most of his friends so he wasn’t use to introducing people. 😒 It was a very long night. And after awhile I just sat in one spot and ate because I was tired of it.

I’ve definitely encountered the performative Sadboy. He would use “anxiety” as an excuse for why he couldn’t job applications but also wouldn’t meet with a therapist for help. I’m not sure if he was ever diagnosed with anxiety but he didn’t feel anxious about going to the bar regularly.

It sounds like the SD doesn’t feel like she gets to spend quality time with her dad. I wonder what the dad does to really connect with his daughter? It seems like the SD thinks that the father doesn’t spend as much time with her because of OP. OP should leave. The dad is letting the SD run things instead of having proper boundaries. Their should have been a negotiation where OP doesn’t have to leave the home.

This is so true! I’ve been single for a similar amount of time and it has been amazing. This feels like a great time for me to have a reset and think about what I want from my life. Recently, I’ve been considering how I would want my life to look if I remained single forever. I had never done that before FDS. I feel so inspired to do whatever I want! It’s so empowering. My goals for the upcoming year are to spend more time discovering what I want and learn as much as I can via my Masterclass sub…

I think it illustrates how a LVM can ruin your life. Her family was suspicious of him the beginning and he started asking for small amounts at first and then larger amounts of money. I think it was an accurate portrayal (until the end) of how you can keep investing in someone and ultimately end up with nothing. Edit typo

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
