practice your conversation skills. IMHO, listening to long form interview podcast like Joe Rogan is invaluable for developing this skill. \^ actual piece of "advice" someone gave this guy. How is this not satire.

Thanks for sharing the article. Going to skip that film. I remember watching that Colin Firth spy spoof that takes a tonal turn at the end and feeling like a fool. Oh I thought I got to enjoy that film? No, dummy, the film's not for you. And with that film it's not even a violent scene, so the experience is bound to be a lot worse with the Gentlemen.

I saw some review headlines for it and I'm very glad that I never ended up getting into it. I remember tuning in for the show premiere, getting an uncomfortable feeling and switching channels.

I saw some horrific "article" on tv sex scenes and the list included several rape scenes from GoT. As if that's not bad enough, when it got called out in the comments this got upvoted: "rape is sexual violence, it's different from violence, there's sex involved so they are sex scenes". As for the series itself, it's funny (not really) how the mistreatment of women has to be "realistic" in a fantasy show.

It's astonishing how men don't understand how scared women have to be. I think it's in Neil Brennan's stand up special where he asks women how many of them share their location with their girlfriends on first dates or set up a check-in phone call... And the men in the audience are like "wait, what..?" because they only set up escape plans for blind dates in case the woman's not attractive enough.

This reminds me that the novel Men Who Hate Women was "translated" into English as The Girl* With The Dragon Tattoo because some men apparently found it uncomfortable... *not, you know, woman

I'm guessing because enough hot female celebrities have talked about "growing up with brothers" so it's become a trope for the creeps.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
