Why do you think being purpose driven and logical do not fit with raising children? I have three children so far and can say that having a long term goal/purpose in how I want to raise them and then logically problem solving and implementing that goal is vital in making it through the day the day. Vital. I am constantly seeking more knowledge and learning how to best raise children and run my home. This life is not easy if you want to do it right. You can not simply rely on emotions and nurturin…

Art on the walls. Find out what you like and invest in that. You can take it with you wherever you go and that will help make whatever space you are in home.

I have 3 so far and feel like the while first year is hard. Not that you won't find some normalacy and routine within that year, but each time I have felt that life really starts to feel easier and more normal after the year mark. Definitely take the first 40 days to REST. And don't expect baby to be on any kind of routine until 16weeks-ish. Just go with the flow until then. A schedule will start emerging around 4 months when baby will likely be taking 3 regular naps. You will feel like you are …

I have a 10 week old (and also a 4yo and 2yo). My last wasn't a spitter and I forgot how frustrating that can be. It is amazing how much more laundry this little one has generated! I just expect to change and wash my clothes more often. And I am constantly carrying around a burp cloth to try and catch most of the mess. So just get dressed, brush your hair, and put a little makeup on. It is ok if baby cries while you do this. If you can afford it buy some new clothes that fit your current body an…

Staying home with our children was a non-negotiable for me. I contributed financially before we had kids. We have three so far now and make it work on one income. It is possible. And no, I don't think this makes you spoiled. There is plenty of work to be done keeping a home and raising children.

The book I just posted was written by The Clean Mama lady!

This book has been really helpful to me. Housework finally feels manageable and is a daily habit. It outlines specific take for each day, but also has a built in flex day. Nothing else I tried had that flex day and then when something came up I would quickly get behind in housework and then super overwhelmed. Now I just pick up where I left off. Up your game a bit in your daily wear and plan regular date nights where you go out and wear his idea of sexy.

He should be making a mighty effort to find a male roommate. Convenient for him is not a valid excuse.

Agree. And that would be a hard no from me as well.

He is not the only one sending mixed signals. You are acting like a girlfriend without requiring the commitment. Have a straight up define the relationship talk with him and then act on what he says. If he refuses to commit then you back up and stop acting like a girlfriend. Rip the band aid off.

My husband was 16 when we started dating so we waited 3.5 years until he was 20 (I was 23) to get married. And for us getting married during college was fiscally beneficial! He got some grants he would have otherwise not received. Anyway, we were very serious from the start even though he was so young. A possible marriage was always the point of the relationship and we talked about everything (life goals, money, kids, religion, politics...)

I think that is plenty of time if you are straightforward and purposeful about the relationship. I don't understand wasting any more time.

Hey, I have been lurking here a few months. I haven't posted an intro. Should I do that? Anyway, the above link briefly outlines an issue I have long suspected and become even more aware of after I became a mother myself. I'd love to find some more resources supporting this. I am not posting this as a judgment to women who work! Many women work because they enjoy their career. That is good and right. The fact remains however that perhaps far more women work not because they desire too, but becau…

Did they all forget that 100 years ago the workforce was not full of women and the world turned just fine? This protest is so backwards.
