All the usual stuff, go to gym etc. however, for me it was always a mental and perception thing, and I found reading philosophy was a game changer for me. My thing was stoicism, but maybe you might find another philosophy to help if that doesn’t suit you.

Do not forget that in all this, from her perspective, you were far from perfect. Having said that, it sounds like she was a passive taker and not a giver. So, don’t kick yourself. You tried but she didn’t want to play the same game as you. So be it, part ways and move on. In this scenario, you were always onto a losing battle with no chance of success. Your error was unwisely choosing the wrong person at the start. Either you were unable to choose wisely or she hid her true self from you until a…

Sounds like she is trying hard to show you she is better without you, and you were the problem all along. Maybe she is trying too hard. Always take the long view. You can often only see truth and reality from a distance. Give another twenty years. In the meantime, move on and live your best life. It sounds like you played to her tune for decades, now it is time to play your own tune. Be a little selfish.

Congratulations to you. I am glad it all worked out for you. To be fair, you did have the best platform for a divorce- no kids, no property and no debt. Nonetheless, well done on your success.

Good post, thank you. More advice. Hop over to the women’s version of this sub and read there as well. Although different, they often have many similar issues. Seems good people come to Reddit for help, whatever the gender, dealing with bad people is tough. Remember, if you are on this sub because your stbxw is causing problems, then you are in good company, but not all women are as bad as she is, likewise, not all men are bad. So, be wise, protect yourself as necessary, but chill out every once…

You cannot get reform until women consistently out earn men. Then it will all change, for a fairer society. Basic homosapien is man provide and woman take resources to run home and raise children. Yes I know society and culture have developed over time, but the basic firmware is still in place.

Indifference is the way forward because you have let go of the past. Is she is doing this to get a reaction out if you, then she is the one with the problem because she hasn’t let go of you yet.

You did not lose anything real. You lost a dream, a hope, an aspiration, and possibly a delusion. It was all in your head and heart and hormones played you for a dumb fool. What remains is knowledge, wisdom, understanding and likely a little regret. You are literally better than you were before the divorce.

I am a hurt man but my pain has pushed me towards “not caring “. Not an incel position but some have accused me of Being an incel on other boards. I am the type of man who just won’t play a game if I discover it is rigged, and marriage is rigged, but I discovered it too late. Oh well, live and learn.

Taking the cash is dodgy and probably not a good idea. Has she declared it for tax? Could be a problem for her? Just be glad you won’t be paying alimony or child support. If you let the situation drag on for too long, you may find she gets pregnant and uses the baby to extract money from you long term. Not guaranteed but has happened to far too many men. Paternity test is your friend.

Isn’t it crazy that those conditions are considered a win in today’s society. Roughly 50% of marriages end in divorce, which just goes to show that men who refuse to marry are the wise ones because they learn from watching other men. I am old school traditional, but there is no way I would marry in today’s society, too many risks.

Understandable but an error nonetheless. In these cases I always preach philosophy and especially stoicism. Reading stoicism helped me in my dark days, maybe it will help you? Not everyone’s cup of tea but worth a try at least.

Many men stay in marriages that are not good, for many reasons. The commonest reason is for the children. Don’t hate on a man who is trapped because he loves his children. Chances are, he will adjust or change perspective in the future, but for now staying in a bad marriage might be the best option out of all the bad options. Sometimes life is just a bit shit.

I understand, I too had the constantly shifting goal posts plus gaslighting. It is so common that I think it is part of the standard female playbook. Once you see it for what it is, you cannot unsee it.

Hard notice here. You are coming from a place of weakness, you have to change this. Mental and emotional strength that is under the control of logic and reason is vital for your future. I always suggest stoicism, but there are many philosophies that will help. As a starter, sit down and watch an hour or two of stoicism videos on YouTube and if it fits you, then buy some books. It won’t hurt to give it a try.

Oops, my bad. Forgot we were on the internet and need to avoid censorship. My view is that men and women are pretty much the same wherever and whenever you are, with slight social differences. Example, I enjoyed reading about the fall of the Roman Empire- and the parallels to modern society are enlightening.

I understand. Whilst there are far too many women like this, it looks to be more of a problem in America. Sadly, UK is trying really hard to catch up.

When I first found Coach Greg Adam’s I was put off by all of his American “culture “, he was difficult for me to watch. However, after a while I found him extremely useful and instructive- he is not stupid. Turns out an average white guy in the UK has shared female experiences as a black guy in America with very different cultures. Goes to show that women are women, wherever they live.

It is not all women, but it is too many women. I am in UK and there are still plenty of good women, not as many as there used to be, but much better odds than it appears to be in America. Best advice is to leave America to find a good woman as almost every other country has better women. Also, if you are in UK, then probably best to leave for other countries to find better women. Sadly, feminism rules and we have to adapt to survive. Some men do get lucky, but for the average guy, the risk is to…

Status
/r/Divorce_Men22/04/24 08:37 AM

Mostly agree. I have found that women tend to be dominated or under the control of their emotions- sometimes created emotions and sometimes genuine emotions but based on low level thinking. It is difficult for men to really come to terms with female emotions because most men have learnt to control their emotions and wonder why women can’t do the same.
/r/Divorce_Men22/04/24 08:36 AM

Different motivations at different times in life. One big one is that women are motivated by men with status, and this gets confused with money sometimes.

Take as much time as you need. Accept that there will be good times and bad times. Hit the gym and read stoicism. Audio and video record interactions with her, if it is legal where you are. Just hold it in backup in case she goes crazy on you. Only use as last resort.

Cotton controlling your emotions. Do not be ashamed of your emotions because they are a part of who you are, equally don’t be controlled by your emotions. My biggest gain was finally learning to understand what motivates women.

Women going to women. I suggest document everything and record conversations and phone calls. If you are good and she is bad, she will eventually trip herself up. Security video cameras are also recommended. In our society it is “believe all women “. It sucks, but it is where we are at. For others to believe you, you have to prove she is lying. The same is not true in reverse.

Sounds like you don’t want to be her bitch, which is reasonable. Therefore leave. But, plan your escape. Take your time and do your own research. Firstly, after divorce, you will be her pay pig, and it will destroy you over the years. Solution? Become ill and lose your job. It is only money and she will take it anyway so let it go. Plan carefully to protect yourself and install home and car security cameras. Make yourself into a man that she wants to leave because some women go crazy if a man re…

Your emotional attachment to your daughter is totally justified however it is also the route that she will use to control and manipulate you. As long as this return you can only lose in your dealings with her because she knows your weak spot. To escape you need to be willing to walk away, and this is hard. This is the system and you bought into it. It is too late for you but at least younger men will learn from your experience. Hmmmm. The last part is the big point. She wants you to end. This is basically evil. I hope you do your best to leave her behind and start a new life without her. If she is truth evil, then she will use your son against you, and there can be little defence for you. Play the long game and hopefully your son will come back to you when he is free of her influence.

You do not control hate. If you try to control hate you end up holding it tighter. The answer is to let it go, release it. This can be hard to do, but is possible through philosophy or counselling if you prefer. Love and hate are two sides of the same coin. The coin was your marriage, which no longer exists, so both love and hate need to go away. While you were married, your emotions served a purpose, but now you are divorced your emotions serve no purpose, so remove them.

My level up was philosophy. Stoicism and Daoism plus some extras. I am now at a place that is close to nihilism but is not nihilistic. I just don’t give a shit anymore. It is a peaceful place to be. The big realisation was understanding that I can only control myself- and that is my focus.

This particular hell was created by feminism and it is running its course. Sadly marriage is dying and will continue to decline and will eventually lead to the collapse of western civilisation- then our grand children get to rebuild again- and feminism will reappear to tear it all down again. OP is weak and needs to man up. Sounds horrible of me but I mean well. It is all about control. Ex wife controls OP because he still cares about what was in the past. She may not even know or care that she is in control. But ex wife has moved on and does not care anymore, sad but real. To be a man is to not be controlled by others, even ex wife. The way through this is to analyse the relationship thoroughly and recognise it is ended. OP needs to let go of a past that cannot be again. Then OP can…

50% divorce. Then bell curve remainder. 10% misery, 30% mixed happy and miserable, and last 10% happy. Adds up to 100%. So only 1 in 10 men remain happy in their marriage. Those odds do not look good and younger men are increasingly aware.

It was the false accusation potential that had me worried. Early exposure of her actions may initiate a bad reaction whilst holding onto the information may make her think twice before a bad action. Depends on her nature but some women are evil whilst others are not. I guess you discover her true nature in the divorce procedure.
/r/Divorce_Men12/04/24 10:19 AM

Store and backup evidence of her poor choices. The backup is important and make sure it is at multiple offsite locations. Then choose to hold as leverage over her. Best option. Or share with family etc now to get some revenge. Worst option. Remember women care a great deal about their reputation so damaging it too soon may backfire.

Just a comment. I find it interesting that our society is happy to force a man into indentured servitude to an ex wife. Women are great, marriage is great but divorce is hell for men. Wise young men today will not marry and it is simply because the risk and price of divorce is so high.

You, me, we - are all part of a growing social trend with an unpredictable future. You are far from alone in your experience and many men have it far worse than you. Thanks to the internet younger men are aware of how bad marriages can go, and are wisely choosing not to marry in the first place. The dark humour part is that it was women who started to abandon marriage, starting in 60’s and 70’s. Now men are belatedly agreeing with women and women aren’t happy.

Shitty situation. I think your problem is that you have not decided what you want your future to be. Make a decision and take action to make it happen. Prioritise yourself over your ex, maybe also your children because they can/will be used as weapons against you by your ex. Decide your path and go for it. Remember that every path has pro’s and con’s. You just have to be man enough to choose and live by the consequences of your choice.

Pain comes and goes. Just a heads up. Sounds like you are doing the childcare then kids sleep at hers. This might count against you later when lawyers get involved because technically she has the children all the time. You may find it more difficult to get time with your children after divorce. I advise having children sleep at yours as well as hers. If you read other threads here you will see how that kind of thing can go against the father in the divorce.

Don’t be a dick about it, but just use it as a way of proving your innocence, because if she is lying now it will only get worse.

Definitely in her feelings then.

The menopause change can be very real. It does not mean the past love was a lie, but it can mean that she is now a very different woman and she genuinely has no love for you today. Sometimes life is a bit shit. But you are not alone in experiencing this. Take time to heal and realise that the woman you love no longer exists and cannot return. I know this may not sound comforting but I speak from personal experience. You can rebuild yourself.

I noticed you said ‘compelled’. You are being manipulated, so just say no. Keep it simple and if asked for a reason for refusing to meet, then just explain you see no need to meet.

The problem was her feelings. You have not mentioned anything, but it could be side effect of menopause.

Debunking feminism is easy because it has been done so many times before. However the reality is no one cares to listen to logic. Hence men just walk away.

Yes. But this is exactly what female power is. So we shouldn’t be surprised when female power is on display. Similar to male power being a demonstration of strength, dominance or wealth. It is the hypocrisy that causes the problem.

The last bit of OPs post is sad, true and real. Many men are simply choosing to avoid women socially or not have them as friends. The reality for men is that they have to be constantly on guard and self censor themselves in case they accidentally offend a woman. It becomes too much hassle for many men. So when it comes to social downtime and relaxation, they choose to hang with other men. This leads to many women getting less male attention. Of course, there are also the thirsty men who behave d…

Having a high body count is a choice for men and women, obviously easier for women to choose high body count because many men will have sex with most women. The high body count is not the issue itself. The problem comes when a high body count woman decides she wants marriage etc. she doesn’t have the skill set for ltr and as it is often said, she comes with baggage and has lost the ability to pair bond. The high body count woman who marries has a win and the simp has a loss because based on her …

Egalitarian would be for both sexes. Feminism is putting female above male. When you see it and understand then you cannot be a feminist unless you actually want that outcome. Slowly people are starting to understand the reality of feminism, but too many still believe the lie.

Good message. I agree. This is why I support men not engaging in marriage. Leave women to their own devices. A man should prioritise himself, his life, hobbies, career and his needs. Then from this position of strength he may choose to engage with women on a level that suits his character, needs and wants. All of this can be achieved without anger, hatred or spite. Indeed, these negative emotions often indicate that the man has not yet come into his position of freedom and strength.

The concern for me is that some women believe that this is acceptable and see no issue. Men need to listen, learn and avoid these women. Arguing with feminists is a pointless waste of time. Because I have time to spare, and it is a fun sport, I often argue with feminists, but I do it for entertainment rather than hoping they will change. The key is to recognise that they will avoid logic and reason and go straight into creating an emotional response from you. Their goal is to knock over your emotional foundation, and they are very skilled at this. They have to do this because they cannot win with logic and reason. Before you argu…

Most men naturally have a tendency to duty and honour, and this is good when there is reciprocation. What we see today is that feminism tells women not to reciprocate, and thus is fine. The outcome is that men learn to walk away from duty and honour towards women, and this too is fine. Feminism asked for equality but doesn’t like the logical outcome, too bad. I do not advocate for hatred towards women, rather I advocate that men should walk away from a bad deal. Women seem to view this as misogy…

In older times a king went to war or sent his son the prince. Maybe we should bring this back? A leader who goes to war, goes as well or sends their son or closest relatives. It would be interesting to see what happens.

Only some men have the strength to walk away. It takes about 10% if a population to really engage and bring about change. I suspect that in the next few decades the 10% will be reached in the west. Men don’t need to walk away from society. Just refuse long term relationships and especially marriage and the society shift will happen. But it will take decades unless we hit collapse for another reason.

We all know that men are disposable and it is a bitter pill to swallow. Once you understand the reality you can move on and build yourself for you. This is an example of short term pain and long term gain. Very sadly, some men do not survive the pain stage.

Single mums should not be ostracised, no one should. However, a wise man would do well not to get involved with a single mum. The two are different but I can see why those wanting to manipulate men would conflate the two.

Sadly no. Smiles etc are an outcome of your emotional state and indicates your personality and character, and this makes it hard for bad people. It is much easier to get surgery to make it look like you are a good and kind person. It takes a lot of effort for some people to actually be good.

Anyone who stands against feminism will be attacked socially or even physically. You can do what you want, but it is already too late, feminism is finished and they don’t know yet. The reason is too many men have decided to walk away from women and they won’t come back. Many men are rejecting marriage and long term relationships. It wouldn’t matter if it was men who women did want, and some are, but a lot are the calibre of man that women would want. I am in my 50’s and married for decades and a…

I feel sorry for young men today. The rules for men are based on how a woman feels, which means rules are not fixed, therefore there are no rules that have meaning. Rules exist to set standards and they need to be consistent, which they are not. I wish the best for young men, good luck.

Two aspects. There have always been bachelors in society, some gay and some straight. Secondly, modern feminism and how society bashes men, makes MGTOW just logical self protection. The problem is the MGTOW philosophy is growing, which is great for the individual man, but bad for wider society. Society doesn’t want to abandon feminism so MGTOW and similar will only grow. The names will change, but men will continue to walk away. One sad aspect is some women will realise this and try to return to…

Because few women have ever felt the actual power of a man, they get away with this kind of bullshit and delusion. Most men are not going to attack a woman but there are some really bad men who will and they won’t be intimidated by a few keys. In almost every real life violent encounter if you are a man or a woman, the best advice is to run.

I don’t think it really matters what the mod does, this sub is running on borrowed time because it goes against society’s narrative. I am here, while it lasts. Eventually this sub will be removed just like other male voices. Feminism does not allow contrary voices. This is the way.

This site is yet another example of women ‘shaming’ men in order to exact control over them. Men need to wake up to what is going on, this type of control, shaming and manipulation is common place. It is approved of by women and society. There is an answer. Avoid long term relationships and do not marry. I am an old traditional man, but logic and reason cannot persuade me that relationships with women have any future in our society. I wish things were different, but they aren’t.

As a man I do think it is all about choice. I have fully taken on board that I, as a man, have free choice to do what the hell I want to do, without reference to others… the extra point to this, is that I am fully responsible for all outcomes of my choices. Feminism gets so close, but drops short of the responsibility part. This is why I cannot take feminists seriously. If feminists want to be taken seriously by men, then they need to be fully self responsible first.

All I can add to this is from personal experience of women family and friends over 55 years and I have seen the desire for babies hit women around the age of 30 every single time, without exception. I am sure there are some women who do not go through this , but I have never met them. Classic example, my mum told me she dumped her long standing boyfriend because he would not marry her and instead married my dad so she could have her babies. Callous.

MGTOW is a philosophy that is great, but beyond most men because most men desire women and this makes them weak and easily manipulated. Many men learn MGTOW through decades of marriage, but a change has been happening where younger men learn MGTOW and avoid marriage before it is too late. It will be fascinating to see how MGTOW evolves and grows over the coming decades. I suspect it will always be a minority choice, but it’s growth is undeniable.

Women getting fed up of feminism is never going to be enough. Women need to actively live lives they desire and be personally responsible for all outcomes. This will be the first step towards ending feminism, but it won’t happen because responsibility is too high a price for most. Sadly, feminism will end when we hit hard times and everyone suffers. We have a long downward slope to go down.

There is noise about this in UK as well. Some call it racist, but when all variables are accounted for, it turns out black women are more likely to die in childbirth than white women. This goes across the whole world, including Africa. Very sad, just not racism.

Interesting points. Your best one is husbands just need to talk to their wives. 30 years marriage here, and I know this is difficult because over the years my wife has steadily removed topics from permissible conversation, until there is little to talk about except mundane stuff like the weather and pets. Just saying, sometimes women make it hard or even impossible to talk about anything if real importance. Maybe I am just unlucky.
