What if I don't like planning? Quite happy with having women do the planning / leading, and I be the one that vetoes things when I don't like them. Sure, some of my girlfriends have complained about it, but, you know, that was more their problem than mine. Others quite enjoyed planning vacations and showing off their good taste to me. Perhaps men and women are not that different in that regard? They like to be in control sometimes, and led other times.

How do you know? Do you know any? I mean, I'm sure they exist -- I see one in particular on TV a lot, but most of the CEO's and board members I've met in person are super nice and personable and self-aware and empathetic and kind. Some of the younger ones are a little more awkward / introverted, and others a little more idealistic and outgoing. Some are still growing out of complicated families / childhoods and are a bit jerky, but I can only think of one or two (compared to about a dozen super …

Appreciate the compliment, and am aware of my many dimensions of privilege: genetics I was born with / dietary habits I was raised with / having gotten used to daily exercise, etc. Sorry for hating a little harshly on PUA -- perhaps I should have said "some of what the PUA community seems to teach is shallow tricks, not actually getting to know people, empathizing, and helping them along their path to their own ends". Humans of all stripes and genders seem to appreciate those. I am pretty risk-a…

Or perhaps because he dates classier women (dare I say, alpha women?), not insecure girls who mistake disrespect for affection. I'm pretty sure if you say that to any woman, you'd get an "excuse me?" or just a raised eyebrow and immediate removal from her social circle. Then again, women are usually connected well enough that she wouldn't be on a date with you to begin with.

How do you know she's fucking the mentor? Sounds like your insecurities talking. Even if she were, the proper response is to say "sorry, miss, this is a little more complexity than I'm in town for. I hope you find your way to a more stable place and perhaps we can meet again on equal ground". Certainly not butt-hurt gloating and revenge like this guy's doing. Controlling emotionally vulnerable people? That's more of a book than a reddit post. But emotional abuse definitely does the opposite! She…

Denial? I think it's you who is denying the emotional abuse that's obvious to anyone fully socially developed.

Except I'm not trying to catch a fish. I'm trying to empathize and understand and form lasting relationships with people who are in some ways unlike me and in many ways treated very differently by society as a whole (both for better and for worse). Having friends that are like you with the same goals and interests is easy and leads to an echo chamber of narcissists circle jerking each other (ahem). Empathizing and forming friendships with those you disagree and have opposing interests with is a …

Retroactive rape is when a girl doesn't clearly say "no", but is pressured into doing something she doesn't want, and retroactively finds the space to voice that she didn't want to. It relates to affirmative consent. A lot of what the PUA community seems to teach is how to force themselves on women without giving them an opportunity to make a clear yes/no choice in a clear state of mind. "Prude" is not a word people usually use when older, but perhaps "up tight", "cold", or "emotionally closed o…

shrug that's a debate I've had many a times, not really the place for it. I don't think Donald assaults women in a way that law enforcement is justified in punishing. perhaps put him a public sexual aggressor list, but no punishment.

In my (relatively limited) experience, not even close: they get into management (for all the wrong reasons), sometimes one or two promotions in, even, and then crash and burn in a fireball of HR reports and inability to control their emotions because politicians at the director level know how to push one's emotional buttons like no other. There are a few who are founders / small business owners who have a really hard time growing past the point where you need an HR department, and while there's …

Oh yes, I most certainly have been a chump in more ways than I'll admit to here, and probably will be again, in new ways neither of us can imagine. I've also played the role of the not-so-nice person who is dating multiple people when none of them want to be in an open relationship but are too attached to tell me to fuck off and stick to it and who has done what a client felt was subpar work and but thought I was no longer getting paid (and then felt quite bad about it when I found out that's wh…

lol. Yeah, you know why HR reps are often pretty, married women? To stop precisely that.

No, I'm saying the folks Trump is talking about chose badly and need to get with the second set of women, women who treat men magnificently upon being treated magnificently themselves.

A couple of things, some more private (e.g. re: retroactive rape) than others. One example is the dichotomy of being a prude if you don't put out and being a whore if you do. A little more generally, a world view that is extraordinarily cognizant of the social role one's sexuality (or lack thereof) plays in how people see you (whether real or imagined can be debated). So, how being too gentle with her is offensive, but being too dominating is scary — how some women like to feel like they aren't …

Not sure what blue pill is, but I'm a pretty darn happy as a beta who avoids jerks of all genders. Joke's on you! I don't have a girlfriend :'( But I am dating this super hotty who just divorced a super insecure alpha dude, so that's cool :-) Kind of sucks though because I was hoping to get with this alpha lady who hates alpha men because she's intelligent enough to sees through their acts but she's not the open relationship kind so that's a little sad but I guess it's ok — can't have everything…

It's not a competition, both male and female friendships can be fulfilling in different ways. I'm happy to hear you vocalize emotions well — men really don't chances to do it often enough. I was also thinking about feelings w.r.t. sexual encounters and sexual power dynamics — what I hear from women strikes me as significantly more realistic and true to my own experience with them than anything on this forum, for example ;)

Some women want to be treated with respect, others differently... ...so be careful to date / marry women who wants to be treated magnificently and with respect and treat you likewise? Unfortunately, with people in general, you get more with vinegar than honey. From his perspective, probably. People flock together with their kind. In high school, everyone's forced to mix more or less randomly, but after that, nice folks make bubbles of nice people and exclude the assholes. And believe it or not, …

In my experience, female friends can provide a perspective on female sexuality / emotional intelligence / power dynamics that none of my male friends could even begin to vocalize. So, um, if it isn't obvious, having both male and female friends is a good idea. Also, friends who don't feel they're defined by one gender or another -- pretty darn good to have!

Top youtube comment sums it up well: Lonely, petty, old bitches that have nothing else to do Kind of a sad commentary on people's lives, but doesn't seem like it has anything to do with gender.

What about women who don't like alphas because they find them intimidating and scary? Or alpha women who like beta men because they see alpha men as driven by insecurity and greed? Also, the reason for 80/20 rule in sexual encounters could very well be because people with high libidos have a lot more sex than people with average / below-average libidos, not because of gender or alpha / beta power comforts.

Are people here unable to get sex Basically -- why else would someone want to stop being a beta? As a beta who gets laid a lot (not a lot lot, but enough to be pretty darn happy with myself), I'm a little confused about what's appealing about being alpha. But, you know, to each their own!

women are fairly lackadaisical in admitting they're sleeping with a ridiculous amount of men, even in print Admitting? lol. You're talking about the Ivy League in 2016, you begrudging pleb — women sleeping with ridiculous amount of men is precisely as scandalous as men sleeping with ridiculous amounts of women, i.e. not very.

Given no other context than that one piece of a sentence, yes. Given the rest of the context, clearly not.

Sure, lots of women are sexually open and willing and maybe even submissive around powerful men, and sexually attractive men, and men they take fancy in any one of a number of ways. And guess what -- many men are sexually promiscuous around women they take fancy to, as well, while others are a bit more reserved. Now, get ready for me to blow your mind: there's nothing wrong with either extreme, because different people have different libidos and preferences, and modern society has generally agre…
