I’m going to say this as someone who stayed too long and thought through all the unconventional ways and ideas of doing things. It just needs to end. It hurts, it’s shitty, and you deserve better. Figure out a co-parenting arrangement that will work for both of you but other than that cut all other things off with her. When you talk to her keep it strictly about the kids and their activities. Block her on all social media, tell her you don’t want to know about her life or what’s happening in it,…

Grieved for a while, felt all the pain, sorrow, anger, sadness etc. and then in time I worked through it. There are things that I didn’t/couldn’t/ didn’t want to see when I was in the marriage that became much more obvious once I started working through things, deconstructing it, and working on myself. I’m an INFJ so I had to really sit with it for a long time. An important thing for me was to stay single and not try to escape into another relationship before I was really ready to move on and pa…

She’s already mentally checked out. Divorce and move on.

Dude you need to leave, rapidly. She’s going to give you just enough to drag you along until she’s got everything lined out. She’ll create the framework of an entire new life complete with a new man and then she’ll pull the plug on you and shove you out an airlock.

I told my kids that if they ever wanted to talk about any of that stuff that I was always here for them and I left it at that. Just keep the lines of communication open and they will come to you when they’re ready.

Ah yes, the blaming you for everything you did wrong and how everything is your fault, I’ve been there. No one is perfect and everyone makes bad decisions or mistakes at times. My favorite is when you’re blamed for everything while they did absolutely nothing wrong. And if by some miracle they admit they did something wrong, they will quickly shift the blame onto you or someone else and still not take responsibility for any of it.

Absolutely. Mine decided to throw it all away so she could relive her 20’s but without being married. My kids (all teenagers) tell me how embarrassing it is to go places with her because in their words, she’s almost 40 but she’s acting like a high schooler.

I’d let her know you have them and give them back. If she doesn’t get back to you about it then you can trash them, but I’d feel bad if I didn’t give her the opportunity to collect them, it’s a karma thing.

Stop talking to her and don’t sign ANYTHING until you have a lawyer to represent you that will help you through this.

Can I ask what type of therapy? So many out there to choose from it’s really confusing.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
