All the women my age (I'm 38) had tons of baggage and drama. I had tried being a stepfather and it was really brutal, I lost them when I got divorced. My girlfriend is younger and really appreciated everything I do, there's not as many expectations and I really get a sense of true gratitude for all the things I do for her. My ex wife is still decent looking and I've seen her with a bunch of different guys since we split, but none seem to stick around. It's easy to get laid on a Friday night, it'…

If women spent the first date complaining about their ex, I didn't take them for a second. I went on a ton of dates when I got divorced. Most of them had red flags and I just let that go right away instead of hoping for the best. If you can't fake being put together for a couple dates I'm not wasting 6 months. My current girlfriend didn't bring up any exes at all, and when we got more serious and we started talking about past relationships she said there wasn't anything really wrong with her exe…

Big screener when I started dating again. If you bring up an ex on the first date, you need a therapist, not a callback from me.

My ex keeps trying to flirt to see if she can stroke her ego by getting my attention again. I'm so much happier now, 4 years later than I was with her. Had to drag her through court a couple times but she's being respectful and decent to her end of the deal with the kid most of the time at least. I'm so glad I didn't off myself in a parking garage years ago, and decided to ride it out instead. I wake up everyday now feeling like I won the lottery in life.

Don't overthink this stuff man, people who are interested in being there for you will make time for it. Also, get yourself a job. Girls might worry you're going to whip out a buy one get one coupon at Arby's and expect them to cover their half. I went on a bunch of bad dates before I found my little ride or die chick I've been with for almost 4 years now. Good women are out there but it's a numbers game, you need to be okay with rejection on both ends. I cut a lot of women loose early and gently…

Don't put your dick in crazy, learn to respect yourself and set healthy boundaries in your relationships where you don't tolerate people trampling on you. That's it. Everything else is bullshit. Live well so they see what they lost and never go back.

The judge locally was so fucking annoyed by the guy before us arguing with him that he leveled me and my ex. Chewed us out for no reason. I'm glad that it has kept us out of court ever since then, but expecting to be treated decently if you don't have an attorney is a joke.

Mom's house, dad's house by isolina Ricci. You're emotionally invested and entangled with someone who doesn't care about you. You need to work on releasing that engagement and loving yourself. My ex wife could have a train run on her every night and I could care less as long as she does her duties and honors her commitments. I'd prefer if she doesn't bring the kid around the guys she's fucking, but it is what it is. I'm so much happier, I'm grateful she got out of the way of the life I'm living …

Happened to me too with a cute 23 year old I was super into...she was cool about it but it freaked me out. Hit the gym, get your diet right, cut back on alcohol and smoking. Get your head right and everything else will follow. It happens.

My ex makes about 20% more than I do now, but it's not worth 300 bucks a month to me to try and deal with the BS anymore. She throws such a fit over just paying for half of stuff I decided it was worth the money not to deal with her.

I don't think there's anything to be done. It's just money, you'll make more. Focus on being the best version of yourself for yourself and try to move forward instead of looking back. I'm not saying it doesn't suck, but there's nothing to be gained from ruminating over things you can't change.

Google photos has an option to hide people and it's been nice. I deleted all my social media during the divorce and I don't miss it much. I have a FB for marketplace and that's about it

You had a good relationship with her, you'll be happy with someone else eventually....but first you should take care of yourself. I found a great woman eventually, and I'm now much happier, especially because I'm with someone I can trust. You don't get that trust back.

Not worth it. Focus all that energy on improving yourself and your life instead. My ex looks at me with longing, desire and sadness when she sees me now. And the best part about that for me is that not caring means I'm finally free. Good luck

I figured, based on the divorce. I was too until a couple years ago. I would file in the superior court ASAP to establish jurisdiction. You can get all the forms online and filling them out is pretty easy. You get an emergency parenting plan in place and then get her served... If you're not a broke WG trade like I was, get a mean bulldog lawyer immediately. Otherwise, fill out your shit, get a court facilitator date booked, and get it done, tonight....there's a lot to be said for having a perfec…

My ex would spend about 120% of what I made, and it didn't matter if I was making 30, 60, or 120k in a year, it was never enough. Now I'm working straight time, 40 hour weeks, and the numbers keep running up in my savings like life is on easy mode.

I get where you're at. It can get better man. I'm happier now than I've ever been and you can see my post history where I was crying in a parking garage stairwell for a couple hours because I just collapsed and couldn't go on anymore. I was just crying all the way to work and then turning everything off so I could get through another 12 hour shift. My life is better now for having known that low point. Yours can be too. I would take a serious look at the way that they approach money in terms of their spending habits and credit. It's a really important part of your life that I overlook when I was younger and more romantic but being married to somebody who acts like a sub 600 is an awful way to live. You can literally make $200,000 in a year and it won't be enough to keep somebody like that on track. Because they can't make any long-term plans or budget at all you aren't ever going to make enough money to make th…

Yes, she begged me to give her and our family another chance. I was doing pretty well without her. I broke up with my girlfriend who I loved and cared about, and we got back together. Give yourself the love you're wasting on a woman who doesn't care about you. Love yourself and work on being better for yourself, because you need to spend every day for the rest of your life with who you are. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I'm much happier now, 14 months after divorce. I just stick around to give dudes pep talks when they get down on the selves over it. My advice is to order 2 copies of mom's house, dad's house by isolina Ricci and then work through it. I'm a year after finalized divorce, been with current girlfriend for 18+ months. Happy, healthy, better job, less stress, great sex etc. Ex wife is pretty cool these days, only real complaint is that she's routinely 15 minutes late to drop off and pick up but whatever. I got a full psych workup done to get ahead of my ex during the divorce. It turns out, I'm not crazy and my ex was abusive according to the team I worked with. I was in therapy afterwords and I realized that my work was a shitty toxic environment too. I ended up getting a better job and a better woman, I'm much much happier. Go see a shrink and be honest. The fact that I went in and asked if I could get treated for narcissism was apparently a disqualifying event. Narcissists don't believe they are capable of being wrong so... It's tough but I think I'm more codependent and I have a rescue personality which isn't like a recognized thing but I do have some control issues based on trying to help people save themselves from themselves which isn't really a thing. One of the best things that I've done in my life was getting into volunteering for the fire service. It's a mixed bag. Everyone is highly emotional and some topics aren't going to translate because everyone wants to compare it to their own experiences. We ran into huge problems in a WhatsApp supports group I was in and I ended up splintering off to have a men's club. No, I'm pointing out his unacceptable conduct in a clear way without attacking him as a person. Validating toxic behavior isn't something positive and doesn't help people grow. High value men hold each other accountable. That's what I'm doing. If he doesn't like it, he's welcome to ignore it. If you don't, that's fine too. I disagree with his perspective and yours.

My ex-wife did the same thing. I went to a therapist and had a whole care team run assessments on me and tldr if you have any concern that you might be a narcissist that negatively impacts other people so you go to get help pretty much rules you out of being a narcissist because narcissists don't admit that anything is their fault it's always somebody else who's to blame for the failures. I did find that I have PTSD and anxiety which I already knew about but also codependency has some controllin…

I got a new gun and a couple old trucks already. My biggest thing is just being in charge of my own money. I'm so much better off even without her income.

Hey man I know this is a really tough time for you and that you're getting shit on by life pretty hard. I created a channel in WhatsApp for guys to be able to bullshit and talk about their shit with other men and not be judged. It's pretty uncensored the only rule is not to be an asshole to other members or cause drama. I've been through filing two parenting plans over the last 11 years unfortunately and I'm a pretty decent resource and willing to chat anytime. I had a lot of things taken from m…

My ex didn't either. I filed served and dragged her to court and we got it done. Keep the initiative and push forward. You aren't asking for permission anymore, she isn't your spouse, she's the enemy. Strike first, strike hard, no mercy.

Ideally you'll feel, day, and do nothing in response to anything she does. She's the past. Look to yourself and the future you build with your kids.

I wish it was as hard as it is to get divorced as it is to get married. I learned my wife had cosigned on an auto loan for a friend and had a sub 600 credit score. We were married for 5 years, and as far as I know, my ex still owes 15k on a 2014 Chevy Cruze.... Love was supposed to be enough. I lost almost 80k but kept shared joint custody with my son and that's all that matters to me. There are plenty of shit men too, but I learned the hard way that the common denominator in my wife's failed re…

There is some truth and some toxicity. I no longer suffer from oneitis, and could replace the woman I'm with now in two weeks. I don't want forever, I want tonight and tomorrow. And I think that's part of being a better partner. I respect and honor her boundaries and treat her well and expect that she does the same. I know she could replace me in a few hours. It's my job to be the best version of myself and be the best man she can keep. If I don't, and she bounces or doesn't respect my needs and…

This is the whole red pill foundation right which I read into and a lot of it seem to click for me early on when I was really bitter but I wouldn't read too deep into it. The truth is that women have way more access now than they ever have before. Even an average looking woman will have hundreds of thirsty dudes begging to take her out if she posts up on some attention seeking site. Now that's just as much men's fault as women with how things are in the modern dating shit show. It's all well and…

I wouldn't be opposed to marrying my new girlfriend in the future, because she's a unicorn and there's no risk to me like most women would be. A woman I work with was telling me her son wanted to find a girlfriend....and I asked why. She said he has plenty of money and is happy but wants a companion. I asked her why she would ruin that for him. Get a puppy and spin some plates on tinder or have really high standards as a high value man of quality and let good women come to you. This is the way. …

I don't understand why anyone would be against this but at the same time I have been pretty much kicked out of a divorce group that I was in because talking about how shitty the system is to Father's got me slapped with a general warning for misogyny. Someone complaining about having to pay $1,200 a month for 18 years because their ex-wife decided to fuck someone else is bullshit and I started realizing that 90% of the women in the group had initiated their divorces and let me just say that they…

I Found out that she hooked up with some other dude and only begged me to come back when she realized the grass wasn't greener, to give our family a chance. She used me to give herself a better start and left again. I'm ok with it now. I'm happy with my new girlfriend and the divorce is almost done.

My stbx has found, I think that the grass wasn't greener. I'm in the same situation. Everyone needs to be the hero of their own story, main character syndrome or whatever. I don't care anymore. Gray rock, study stoicism, embrace this pain as catalyst to make yourself grow into a better version of yourself.

I'm ina relationship with a new woman who has really changed my view on life. 6 months in so far and everything is fucking amazing. She's grateful, she fucks me because she wants me to feel good, she's kind and compassionate. My stbx took everything for granted. No sacrifice or contribution was ever enough. I worked 1,377 hours of overtime last year and it was never going to be enough. I'm so glad to be free of her, or as free as I can. A month until our divorce hearing and I'll be on the path t…

I'm dealing with this right now too. She moved out a week before I got home while I was away working for the DoD for 9 months. Now, six months later she's dragging her feet on the divorce I filed and I'm forced to order her to appear and I'm the bad guy for having a new girlfriend who is ten years younger and much hotter. Guess the grass wasn't greener and she's upset about being in no man's land. Keep your head straight and keep her in the rearview.

Move to be closer to your kids? Liquidate everything, split it with her and be there for your kiddos. File for modification after a couple years as allowed.

Being selfish. Setting boundaries. Doing what I want. I had totally lost myself. I'll play some games, guitar, work on a car, have some good sex, sleep in if I want, call out of work once in a while, whatever.

Wife moved out in July of 2019. After she told me there was no way she was coming back, I filed for divorce, and ended up dating a girl from work. She was so angry, hurt, etc, begged me to come back. I did. Now we're still getting divorced and I've wasted a year and 60k on her. I'm seeing someone new now and she tried to fuck me again but this time I held. What a fucking disaster. Wishing her luck on the open market.

If it makes you feel better my wife has 3 with 3 different guys including me. She was a teen Mom and her son's dad wasn't interested in being a father. Her husband had a son, he prioritized his job over her family and wanted from move across country/was a workaholic. Honestly, I would just avoid single mothers. Too much bullshit for what you get. I'm doing fine though. Got a nice hot college girl, still stable financially now that she isn't draining me faster than I can make more. Don't do it. S…

Would you be interested in a support group? I have a great group of people in a WhatsApp chat that you can turn your notifications off on and dip your toe in to the conversation anytime and be surrounded by supportive people that are going through the same stuff. I'm on the way back up after being devastated 6 months ago. Hey guys sorry I was at work all day and don't play on Reddit. I'm going to forward this to the group admin and anybody who has chimed in to get an invite.
