I can only speak from my own experience, but what helped me with depression was spending my spare time keeping my mind busy. I read a lot, study and spend some spare time writing. Keeping my mind busy is really good for me tbh. Socialising more with other guys may help. If you like fishing maybe go on some organised breaks with a fishing club. Best wishes my friend. Hang in there.

Find a focus. A hobby or interest that you can really get into in your spare time, for example. Weaned myself off women years ago by getting heavily into reading, writing and studying astrophysics. Gaming helped too as I'm an avid gamer and women could never compete with me going full geek mode over WoW and EVE Online. Depends on your interests tbh, focus and dig deep into the subject. That's how I did it. What are your hobbies and interests?

Pubs are part of our culture tbh. A couple of beers watching the football with the lads and then we slag off the team, claiming to know better than the manager how to run the tactics for the team. Amusing conversation and a quick quarter pounder up the road before heading home. Always best to take it easy on the pop tbh. I'll have a few jars once or twice a week while listening to Motorhead or Metallica and having a good read but social drinking is limited to me and my closest friends having a few down the pub and talking about football (soccer) as us English guys love our footie. Getting smashed and humiliated is something of the past, when I was at university. Vomiting is not my favourite hobby.
