Isn’t obsessively focusing on the importance of men not being a “weak little bitch” and referring to “dick riding billionaires” pretty conservative in itself? You wouldn’t use that language to critique women, because there’s nothing shameful about women being viral and vulnerable or sexually passive. Yet being weak and vulnerable or sexually passive is very shameful for men, as evidenced by even you, a proclaimed pro-trans liberal, using it to valorise liberals as the true torchbearers of strong…

(In case this needs saying, men aren’t actually logical, this was a lie) I think this is an evolved preference. You probably already know the theory there. As for how it’s actually experienced, I actually don think “yeah it would be nice to be with someone very successful and wealthy, because this would be make life much easier for us both”, but it’s in the same way that I think it’d be cool to win the lottery. It doesn’t make any difference to the way I feel about a woman. I assume women feel a…

As a bisexual man I can’t say I’ve had this extreme experience of female passivity! I think it is probably due to my unusual set of personal blessings and curses, but I’ve found women to be fairly proactive. That’s not to say I haven’t noticed massive differences in male and female dating behaviour, just not the ones you’re focusing on here.

For me it would be a woman who has it together, in that she’s not super-needy and an emotional rollercoaster, is organised and can generally see through long-term goals successfully can have intelligent conversations on a range of subjects; gets subtlety has imagination and playfulness has tenderness and warmth has something striking about the way her face looks that really captivates me (this could make may forms) has a feminine curvy body (could be either slim curvy or fat curvy) I don’t mid e…

Yeah my point is that they may seem high status to their evolution-shaped tastes, and within the pool of men they have available. There’s no reason why money should be the only signifier of status.

But the vast majority of single moms are poor. Different species.

Well ultimately I’m just guessing here. But maybe the men these single moms pick seem like the best within their limited circles. I don’t doubt you’re right on a nation-wide level, but if you exclude all the wealthy and stable people and focus on dysfunctional communities where single moms are concentrated, what would the stats look like there. What kind of men are favoured relative to their peers within that smaller pool?

Definitely don’t think what I was saying was a feminist delusion! Let me put it more bluntly: I think some women are attracted to big, unprincipled brutes who show dominance. This is a kind of high status that isn’t about money or commitment. I think this a common occurrence in a society that venerates hedonism (“following your heat”), financially incentives single motherhood, systematically attacks taboos against sex outside of marriage, and is anonymous and community-less enough that men can g…

I don’t it just feels psychologically different. There’s a certain brotherhood feeling that is diminished when it’s a mixed-sex group. I wouldn’t say it’s better or worse vibe but I appreciate having both. However I’ve just ignored all the specific examples you’ve mentioned. No interest in anybody that. It’s just the specific quality of an all-male group where there is a meaningful bond there that I value. I don’t really identify with any one of the other replies given here about getting away fr…

So I was in a relationship like that and I did enjoy it. Just kind of made me feel like a success. However she didn’t know I was rich when we met, and I tried not to hint at it, because I wouldn’t want to be with someone who only wanted to be with a rich guy. She actually said she was disappointed I was rich, because she associated it with being an entitled asshole, and I loved that! I was also once in a relationship with a wealthy woman who insisted on paying for everything, and I loved that to…

I don’t know any man who does any of that.

Well, they have prioritised high standards in the sense of prioritising a man who displayed dominance, high status, physical power, etc, and also may have been fooled by displays of love, dates and provision without realising that it was short-term.

There way more men who talk “at” other people rather than “to” them.

I think men are generally less caring of others than women

I think most of those behaviours are borne out by stats. So it’s him looking at how women on average actually behave in the real world, more than what they say. I’m sure you can find similar inconsistencies between what men say and do too. He also highlights that he’s not making claims about all woman. Seems reasonable to me.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
