Depending on your definition of true, that statement was true, as there was a study stating it. However due to an error it turns out that the data was entirely incorrect and the study was retracted. https://retractionwatch.com/2015/07/21/to-our-horror-widely-reported-study-suggesting-divorce-is-more-likely-when-wives-fall-ill-gets-axed/ After fixing it, it turns out that men are 6% more likely to leave in the case of heart complications. however I'm not sure if that's statistically significant.

Iirc the drama sub banned everyone who participated on teenagers for being underage. A bunch of people then appealed that ban because they were adults.

Yes and no. You can reject someone for any reason, but those reasons can reflect on you as a person. For example. A white woman rejects a man because he's Indian. She is under no obligation to date him, and she should not be disparaged for that rejection. However, this may reflect some underlying beliefs she may have about Indian people. You have every right to make the choices you do. But why you make those choices may be questionable.

To put it simply, "If she wanted to, she would."
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/24 12:38 AM

"Roman Empire" referrs to women asking their boyfriends/husbands how often they think about the Roman Empire, and finding out that they think about it surprisingly often, like multiple times a day. "A Roman Empire" in this context is something that someone thinks about a lot, to that degree. For example, "Fighter jets are my Roman Empire." "Boy Math" is the male counterpart to "Girl Math" which is basically commenting on trends on how men and women think about numbers, as it relates to money. Wh…

I don't disagree that the average perception is positive. But there's a gulf of difference between "Not punishing relations between men." and "I'd have sex with a man who'd slept with other men."
/r/PurplePillDebate29/02/24 10:10 PM

Because that would involve lying about a massive part of your life. And I'd assume that most men (or women for that matter) wouldn't want to deal with the changes that joining a conservative religion would entail for the sole purpose of getting a date. Not to mention that it's really shitty for the women this hypothetical man is dating too. They, presumably, value this religion. Especially if it's something they have in common. And it's just wrong to build a relationship on a lie like this.

I don't think that's what they mean by not expecting reciprocation. For example, let's say I buy my girlfriend flowers because she really likes flowers. I'm not doing this because because I like her and they make her happy. And she'll, for example, buy me a game or something, not because I bought her flowers but because she likes me and they make me happy. There's no expectation of reciprocity in either of these gestures, but we're still reciprocating affection and in ways that we can appreciate…

Even if we're biologically hard coded to 'spread seed' there are thousands of things that we're biologically hard coded to do that we do not do now. One can turn this logic around to be beneficial to women. For example "Women are biologically 'hard coded' to search for the best mate. Therefore, they should be allowed to cheat. If your woman cheats on you, you simply weren't a good enough mate." I'm not saying that there are nobody thinks this way, I'm sure we've all seen posts that reflect this …

People like this make my blood fucking boil, I know I will catch some flak for this but I'm gonna say it. I am more pissed when someone abuses an animal than a human. A human can at least find help and talk about their suffering, but what about an animal, what can an animal say. They don't understand the human world, they can't possibly get out of the situation they're in, they can't talk to anyone. They are in all ways defenseless. IMO someone does something that directly leads to someone's suicide it should be treated as a form of murder. It should be proved and proven to be a deliberate action, for example psychological abuse which leads to the victim's suicide. If the abuse can be proven and proven deliberate then the abuser should be charged with a form of murder.

It isn't real, They say it is a 1:5 ratio of bleach to water now if you don't know bleach is very thick and white or blue depending on the kind you use (blue for toilet, white for kitchen sink). As a result, I have a hard time believing that is 30 times more concentrated than the mixture used by housewives when doing the laundry has the same colour as water when laundry bleach has it's own colour. firstly you're conflating women with feminism they are not one and the same. Guesstimating figures makes people look less reliable, that is not something that a movement that is already not taken seriously in the mainstream needs. Also Guesstimating requires estimating, and estimating needs something as a point of extrapolation. So if you can't get such a point you are simply guessing. Guessing is more BS than guesstimating which has a point of reference to be based on.

I would call around and ask about work ethic and how they got along with other co-workers, if they are equal in all aspects just flip a coin or use a random number generator (I am not a hiring manager). Or put them both in probation for two weeks and whoever does a better job gets the position (separately so that competition does not mess with their performance).

That's an interesting perspective. But like 10 minutes into her video "Dear Megan MacKay Karen Straughan (Idk about spelling) most of them seemed like more spur of the moment things how they did them without thinking. Yes it is a horrible thing to do, but I think they should get the sentence that the accused was going to get because of how spur of the moment the decisions seemed. Same way how pre-meditated murder gets a different sentence than spur of the moment murder.

true; but has the death penalty actually acted as a deterrent against murder, in canada the death penalty was abolished in 1976 and in these graphs the second and third one. you can see that the rates of murder were on the rise until it was abolished.

No ideology should be pushed on children, wait until they are old enough to think for themselves and not when they will follow any authority figure around like a lost puppy.

If there is no death penalty for rape, there shouldn't be one for the accusation.

That guy was speaking in general statements. And when was the last time you have that statistic and it was true (barring cases where the questions were biased as all hell). I do agree that men do not report sexual assault to the police, but if it is not reported we do not know for certain that it happened. If we do not know for certain that it happened, we cannot make figures based on the reporting.

I heard the rule of thumb came from carpenters, who were so good at their trade that they didn't need rulers they could just measure with their thumbs.

I'm going to be honest, the pets should get full priority over humans. All domestic violence shelter should be exclusively for pets. /s

They both should be punished, but if they come forward voluntarily they should be given a far far easier punishment (I'm talking community service and a fine) while those who have been proven to have lied should face the consequences that the OP talks about.

I meant that it is very likely to be poorly implemented. I'm going off the other side's attempts at addressing an issue and it just comes off as propaganda. That is what I meant, sorry for the confusion
