What values and character do you have that are more important than submission to authority or short term goals to get laid? When are you willing to stand up for what you know is right, despite the personal cost? A real man does those things, and lives with the consequences, for being untrue to himself is the greater crime in his mind.

It's about making sure you know when things are bullshit and that people will torment you to buy into it at some point. When you yield, you ged fucked, and hard, with little chance for recovery. It's a caution about not having a spine or using your brain. It also showcases the hollowness of life without principles of your own that are more important than getting women or earning cash.

Somebody add George Marshall: Defender of the Republic on the list. That is a superior and strong man if I have ever seen one. Was devoted more to duty and proper service to his principles than he was to anything else, and is largely responsible for the shape of the world we, in the west, live in.

It has worked numerous times no matter who it is. Politicians are especially well versed in it, look at bill Clinton and his introductions and networking skills. Regardless of what you may think of him, he gave people he met the best 30 seconds when he was introduced and that endeared him to a lot of people he wanted to influence.

Are you a human who wants to improve their ability to negotiate with others and learn how to utilize empathy effectively? Negotiation is an inherently human necessity, whether it's with your kids, in your job, in a marriage etc. You will always deal with people and need to have people trust you if you want to get anywhere with them. As long as there is some form of conflict, there will always be a need to negotiate.

If you want a couple other books to read for your social skills and principles, try never split the difference by Chris Voss and turn the ship around by David Marquet. Great reads for how to become a good negotiator and a good leader, two crucial traits for being a good man.

As the late Patrice O'Neal stated "My girl is the 4th most important thing in my life." This should be your mentality and firm belief. Your girl should never be more important than loving yourself, your career, or your family. You need to make it clear, if you have a key event that is necessary for you, the things you love doing, or for kids/parents, that's coming first 9/10 times. Why 9/10, because on the occasion that you choose to make a sacrifice for her, she will be surprised and grateful f…

Good work. There is a quote that rings true for leadership but is true for life in general: "You don't think yourself into action, you act into new ways of thinking." Keep doing things and you will keep getting better.

Can't help those that don't want to be helped, or those who think you're just patronizing them for trying. Those who find comfort in victimhood cannot grow, because it is always someone else's fault. Growth comes from accepting the flaws of others and your own, and moving forward anyways. Doesn't mean you should stop trying, but also recognize that some people will never want to be helped.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
