But it's ideas like "violence only affects women" that really get to me. This "idea" has absolutely nothing to to with the UM EGEEW. Don't point at an organization that is trying to change sexist cultures (like have laws that make it illegal for women to drive) and complain that they're not fighting for men.

This is the UN, not an American organization where gender gaps are vanishing. Go to Pakistan, Mongolia, and the Congo for some perspective. The women there ABSOLUTELY need to be empowered. They're not even allowed to learn to read. How can you have a problem with this organization trying to empower them? Seems to me like your problem with it says more about you than the UN.

I think you may have misunderstood, so i'll restate. If you add any subject, things change. If you keep the same number of subjects, changing the value of any individual subject at the extremes will not change the median. For example: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 1 2 3 4 5 6 7000 8000 9000 Median for both is 5

I don't think that abortion is murder; murder is not the only way that civilized people bring others' lives to an end. For example, giving someone the death penalty is not murder. I do think someone in a persistent vegetative state is a person, and I don't think your arguments with how the legal system in your country works has any bearing on this.

A person has an advanced enough nervous system to the point that it grants them consciousness and subjectivity. You're making an assumption here that I, and others, don't. Human is a very stark line, regardless of conscious activity. I wouldn't want to live in a world where people with mental illness were demoted due to your definition.
