I agree with the below poster, a mixed economy (what we have now) is probably the best, its not perfect but it's also certainly not as bad as some people say. Unlimited capitalism would end very poorly for the economy and individuals, but from a societal concept I vastly prefer the capitalist view as opposed to the more socialist view, socialism is too collective in nature for my liking. I work in I.T. and all my hobbies involve computers. I've been told its bad to mix personal with work, but I'm enjoying it at the moment, so meh. Most recently I've been working on a project to make a pretty much fully automated garden, from seed to crop. It's been an interesting experience, learned a lot about plants in the process, haha. As another post said, there are differences at play between the two relationships. But I would assume the concept of "going your own way" in the sense of what makes you and only you happy, and realizing you don't need that special someone in life to be happy, still applies.

Holy shit, the views on working in IT here are depressing. I don't know what planet everyone else is living on but I'm a systems administrator for a local ISP. I've loved every day of it. Mess around with some free coding classes, see if you click with any of them. I tried coding but personally could never be "good" at it. So I looked into how servers and networking worked, and was hooked ever since then.

Man its rejuvenating to see more and more of us in this age group. MGTOW since forever, I left physical high school and entered an online school to allow me to pursue my interests. I just had a similar experience today. Met a new co-worker who was telling me about his divorce, and how he would go through the same thing, yet presently even after all that he would still do anything just for some sex. I guess some never learn. Just makes me feel even worse for those people and strengthen my beliefs.

As others have said, you don't need friends. Granted this is largely based on personality. But personally I've learned that the constant "wanting" to be around other people is nothing more than a weakness that will get exploited someday. If you can learn to really embrace your own solitude, then life will be great :)

I can relate. Ever since grade school, I could never understand the need of people to always have others to rely on. I saw it as a horrible vulnerability just waiting to be exploited.
